    I’ll have a blue
    ChristMAWs
    Without you(nicron)...

    They’ll be so blue
    Just chomping
    Around you(nicron)...

    Decorations of silver
    On orange spaceships

    Won’t cause the same grief
    If they’re on the teeth
    And lips...

I like to pretend that every comment here is from the same person and we're just watching him slowly descend into madness. It makes it easier to get through.

It's always interesting to see which comments get moderated away.
It makes it that much sadder knowing which ones were kept.

It's redundant to say that HasLab Unicron is whatever product comes out called HasLab Unicron.

and that's a nice strawman you have, convenient for your argument and impossible to test the accuracy of, aside from anecdotes. I didn't buy HasLab Unicron, and I don't regret it.

I think the best way to fight negativity is with humor.

and let’s face it: Haslab Unicron is the biggest joke of all >:D

No joke, the Goji vs Kong discourse is more civil than most internet debates I’ve seen in some time.

    it mostly boils down to

“Monke win because he got thumbs.”

“Nuh-uh, lizard win because he got lasers.”

and both sides agree that monke and lizard are cool.

Actually he showed his planet teeth in the opening scene of the movie where he ate Lithone. It's true it's part of his design that they're hidden when closed, but we already knew they were there.

Actually, the planet mouth was the same color as what most other parts of the same color were changed to orange, so it's meaningless to point out that they were yellow instead of orange.

Ideally, they would have provided clear enough indication for what was intentional for the final product at each update, leaving room for changes if people complain, and not have any undesirable surprises that we can't object to.

Separately, the expression of displeasure after we most likely have no choice to change anything is... well, probably pointless as far as the company fixing it, but ideally a company would take that and avoid similar mistakes in the future, assuming it could properly gauge what the displeasure was about.

I suppose the most effective is just to have customers contact Hasbro directly. Ideally that would be respectful, asking to be added to the list of people desiring a fix, and asking for them to let them know if any decision has been made to provide a fix. (which there might be if there were enough complaints.)

I'm not sure how customer complaint could change on here, since even just stating that you left a complaint could be enough reason to receive pushback, and we're right back where we are now. Even acting entitled might not necessarily be inappropriate. It does feel unfair that "final product may vary" absolves them of any responsibility. It's much easier to walk away when no one has preorders, but when money's been put down, even if it's irrational, there's a lot more expectation.

I suppose the worst might be in expectations of what they're financially capable/willing to do to resolve this. It's all conjecture what they can afford to do, but it does seem like a very few people are blind to that factor.
Has Hasbro ever done this? They've done running changes before.
The worst case is to replace that maw plate, 12 gears, the robot jaw, and 2-5 paint operations. Maybe equivalent to a Legends or recent Micromaster in part count, and maybe a deluxe in volume? and at exclusive production run size. Owch. Customer-side that would be maybe up to $60? I wonder what it costs them.

Speaking for myself, it's partly venting frustration I guess, at an error which could have/should have been avoided, and which will forever affect the look of the figure. But also, yes, I do believe that someone (probably not Hasbro, but who knows if we don't try) will see how many buyers are not happy and come out with a fix. That's what I need, personally, a fix for the mistake. I don't hate the figure or want to sell it, on the contrary I think it's amazing, but I also think it can be improved significantly with an insignificant colour alteration.

And if Hasbro suddenly held up their hands and said "guess what guys, we f*d up, we're gonna make a clip-on orange piece free for any backer that wants one" I'm going to bet that a majority of buyers will be clamouring for it, including most of the folks who are dismissing the complaints...
Oh I totally agree, it looks great, but as I said, I think it can look even better. On a similar note, are there other upgrades anyone would like to see for the big guy? Light up eyes? A Cybertron scene for him to stand on? Fillers for some of the gaps in the planet ring that incorporate tiny lights? Primacron action figure?!

How about a transparent version of that red abs section he's showing off in the quoted pic? Is that physically practical?

You know, this thread & all vitriol, hate & disappointment, fuel the Chaos Bringer - it is his bread & butter. You have all fed him well. But it nears the time for his great slumber again. Please let all of those feelings be consumed & be gone with him. Do not let them fester or grow. You only live once.

Again, I think we've had a pretty healthy debate going, and, all things considered, it's been astonishingly civil. Disagreements and differences of opinion are not toxic, and i'd be disappointed if this thread was purged.

Ok, let's break it down further: we were shown a photo of what we thought we were paying for and we did not get it. Is that statement factually incorrect?

"Possible" is also getting into dangerous territory, because the inverse assumption is that it was impossible to paint the maw orange.

Saying that the cartoon-accurate maw was "never on the table" is very disingenuous and seems like an even greater attempt to rewrite history on your part. Look at every single promotional photo and video as proof - hell, it's even still in the instruction booklet!

I agree, saying "the cartoon-accurate maw was never on the table" would be disingenuous. But that's not what I was saying. "The promise that the deco on the prototype was definitely an accurate representation of the final product" is the thing I'm saying was never on the table.

Agreed. And unicron is not some mass produced toy that will get updates and rereleases. This is a once in a lifetime crowd fund that hasbro only has one chance to get right.

I guess it's something that we could have at least learn what we would be expecting as the final colors from the official source. For sure, other fans would still be enraged/disappointed but at least it would have helped reduce such high expectations for even a very tiny bit.

Dreamt of the toy last night. He was big and took up lots of space. I transformed him halfway from robot to planet mode before I woke up. I can't wait to get him.
