So technically, Hasbro has already dipped their toe into this realm with the Deluxe Centurion Drone, but I am thinking it goes beyond that.

For instance, if you compare the exclusive Refraktor 3 pack to the refraktor solo packs, the little additions of the shutter, flash and the to cover makes all the difference for that kit. It complete changes how good that alt mode looks like.

Then there are a lot of little add on kits that fill in the empty areas in a figure and give a couple of weapons.

We know that Hasbro has a budget on figures or waves, and at the moment these figures are the best they have been in a while. The budget most likely runs out, so corners have to be cut. My idea would be that there could be an add on set for whatever the price would be (maybe $5-$10) to give us an even better figure.

I know that we all would like these weapons, a figures without hollow areas and so forth. But there will always be limits. This helps with those limits.

So just wondering, would people be down for something like this from HasTak?

I think we all would be. Where would the downside come in?

If it proved profitable and they started cutting features off figures knowing they could sell it as a separate add-on later.

Well, there are tons of downsides:
    - How many add on sets would you need to create.
    - Distribution. I mean no store will probably want to have these on shelves. So it would be online only.
    - As a buyer, you only know if you need the add on after you have the figure. If the stock is already gone of the add on, by the time you get the figure, we'll be an upset user base. So this would be needed in future waves, not current waves.
    - Hasbro can get greedy on this and not give us good base figures, and still keep the $20+ price point. I mean we saw what they did with Shockwave and Astrotrain. Not saying those figures were bad, but they add plastic for plastic sake to get it into a more expensive category.

This is just off the top of my mind.

    GIMME ALL THE WEAPONS PACKS!!!

    Also generic targetmasters.

As far as releases go make a deal with Amazon. Before anyone says it yes GO and some of those multi-packs have been a pain in the bum to get, BUT you know COVID and that massive loss of freight containers might have contributed to that. So it might not necessarily be 100% Amazon this time around. Plus just sell the darn things themselves and cut out Target and the like(odds are they probably wouldn't bite anyways).

They used to do gijoe weapon packs, don’t think that affected the figures of the time... but this is modern Hasbro, who knows. The best part of the centurion drone was the drone.

Only if they're higher quality than the official weapons often are. I'm not a fan of unpainted grey guns that are clearly supposed to be silver, or the hollow look a lot of them have to save on plastic. WFC has been pretty hit-or-miss in that regard, some I think are perfectly decent like ER Prime's gun or Runabout/Runamuck's weapons, but others like the Datsun rifles or ER Ironhide/Ratchet's guns were disappointing.

Why would we pay Hasbro more money to buy accessories separately from a figure when we could pay them more money to include those accessories with the figures?

Things are the way they are because they are most profitable to Hasbro and we are lucky that independent designers who think it's worth their time to create those accessories are allowed to do so.
I don't see Hasbro investing in producing the kind of quality upgrades we want to buy. It's just not worth it to them, and including those kinds of items with figures would raise the price too much for casual customers.

This is exactly why we do not want Hasbro to do their own add-on kits. They will intentionally exclude accessories to sell separately. Many of the accessories with the Centurion Drone were extras that weren't taken away from particular figures. However, putting Roller in that pack instead of including him with ER Prime made it seem like a cash grab by Hasbro forcing collectors to make an extra purchase to complete Optimus.

The joe packs were generic weapons. They didn’t complete any figure.

Seems a good idea but I probably wouldn’t buy any because I would rather spend the money on more figures

I am very surprised they haven't released an assortment of explosion effects/laser effects in a pack. You know people would buy them.

Yeah, this is a problem, and I think we saw it with Earthrise Prime coming with no Roller and Roller coming with the Centurion Pack.

If they want to supply accessory packs like the old Masters of the Universe line, which came with a bunch of random, recolored accessories that came with figures and playsets already, I'd be great with that.

If they just fill it with things that could have/should have come with figures but didn't? Yeah, no.

For years ive been thinking that pulse should implement a service like shapeways where they could 3d print (or use abs plastic) you guns and other accessories, they could even call it pulse experiments (because haslab is already taken)

I feel like it could work if done right but it could easily fail. Like some people here are saying Hasbro could get greedy and include accesorries that really should have been included with the initial figure. Also, stores carrying them could be hard. What if they shelfwarm? What if the corresponding figure isn't there? Will confused parents and grandparents mistake it for an actual figure abd get little Timmy a bunch of upgrade kits for Christmas but no actual figure?

Can’t say I was very impressed by the quality of the Centurion drone accessory set.

I like the idea if it truly would be "add on" accessories and not things that probably should have come with the damn figure to begin with, like Roller...There's no justification that that Roller shouldn't have just been an accessory that came with the ER Leader Prime figure in the first place.
