This is one of the things that's so exasperating about 3P collecting: if you miss a certain availability window, your chances of getting the toy MIB (or sometimes at all) can be slim to none. I didn't get back to collecting until late 2019, didn't realize I was interested in Carnifex until earlier this year. That availability window is long closed, and with no chance of a reissue, that pretty much means no Carnifex for me. I mean it's fine ultimately, I'll live, just a bummer.

How much of a mark up is he from resellers? Sometimes you gotta pay that “late tax,” if you can afford it I mean.

Keep an eye out on the B/S/T section too - sometimes some people get some kinda “epiphany”/“see the light” and drop 3P and/or “chug” scale all together (although I know he also scales with MP’s).

Not true. Let's say you are only starting to collect the official toys from the 1980s. MIB copies for a lot of characters might cost you between hundreds to thousands of dollars.

But the best thing about 3P, give it a moment and a better version of the figure will be announced.

Just saying, Optus Pexus, Fort Max, Lady Tarn and people having the full DJD team means an Overlord reissue could work better now. Especially since he looks good with MPs too. I’d pick him up again.

Yeah I fell like they should put up a poll to see how many people want a Carnifex reissue to see if it's worth it.

Yeah, sometimes that happens. In this case, we've had about 4 years' worth of moments, and the only other Overlord we've had (to my knowledge) is Fans Hobby's version, which is a different scale (Masterpiece rather than Reformatted) and of a different version of the character (G1 rather than IDW).

Polls are meaningless. They should just do a crowdfunding.

Also, it's not demand from the tfw2005 community that will drive the decision to reissue Carnifex or not. Like it or not, the Chinese market counts more. Last time around, MMC was depending on demand from the Chinese market to carry Supermax to the finish line. It didn't materialize.

And it's not just toys. Even blockbuster Hollywood movies are now mostly targeted to the Chinese market. And why not? Theaters are open over there with gangbuster numbers.

In terms of characters that MMC are planning on making I'm honestly shocked that the Drift was never retooled into a modern IDW Blurr. I would have lost money betting that it was a certainty. I'd like the IDW run to continue, with as many characters as possible, though I appreciate it isn't that simple. I guess it's fortunate that many bots can be retooled. Shame - I was always hoping for a MMC Perceptor. I thought KFC's was a good design, but was too small for an IDW shelf.

'Lo, and he did invoke scale, the bane of the fandom, and he was cast out, and laid low for his hubris.'

KFC's Perceptor looks the part, but man what a trash toy. I loathe handling it.

I've heard that, yeah. Hadn't realized it was retooled into so many characters until I looked. I'm sure the mold only got better with time. :D

Kinda hope fortmax gets some of his animal friends once it's released, maybe as a psx bonus (the mmc penguin lol).

Yeah, that's right, i'm necro-banging this thread! I've just re-read the entire MTMTE and LL run (although LL was still as awful as I remember...) and I NEED Supermax.

Has there been any word or movement on this figure? I know the crowdfund fell through, but is there any hope?

I thought it was on the cards for next year? I hope so. Easily my most anticipated 3P figure.

This and D-zef are the two things I'm most excited for from MMC.
