We would have been getting a regular reveal around this time were it not for real world events not being possible, plus Wreckgar said there was a chance something would be revealed.

We saw a lot of stuff from Hasbro, too.

They announced two new shows on major distributors and the expansion of Pulse to the UK market.

On top of that we've had two new MPs and a Selects figure in the last 24-48 hours.

That's a *lot* of news, even before you factor in all of the other brands that aren't TF that had news today.

Of course. But there is little purpose in driving home such an obvious point.

I wish it was obvious, far too many TF fans are oblivious to this

Why just the UK? What sense does it make to expand Hasbro Pulse to a country that just left the European Union? When they could expand to sell their products (and isn't that what they want to do?) to MORE countries? Pretty sure there are far, far more fans in the EU countries combined who would buy TFs than in the UK, considering how that is just one country.

Ah, you mean they did this "mistake" on purpose, because negative attention is still attention? So it's the gillette commercial all over again, huh...

The UK was also the only European country to get an official local Unicron funding partner. despite them leaving the EU when Unicron drops And now that Unicron is out I suspect I know why.

The UK after leaving the EU does not fall under the same customer protection laws as EU member states.
Has Haslab Unicron been sold directly to the EU it would have fallen under those consumer protection laws. Which means you're entitled to what you ordered, the change from what was shown would have resulted in EU customers being able to get their money back or demand the issues to be "fixed".
It would also give them the option of returning Unicron up to 2 weeks from receiving him for a full refund.

It would also likely have meant that you would have been able to pre-order him and only having to pay a refundable deposit with you paying the rest when it's sent out.

Hasbro has been doing something similar with their MAgic the Gathering Brand. The Secret Lairs. Those sets were originally only available through their US shop, then expanded to other places directly. The EU based one now doesn't bill you until the product is actually ready for release.
And you are entitled for a replacement should it not be up to scratch.

So this just kinda looks like Hasbro wants to keep selling expensive pre-orders, without the risk of people backing out should Hasbro change something significantly.

The only preorders Hasbro charges up front for is Haslab though, everything else doesn't charge till it ships

But Haslab is part of Pulse right?
And those are the most expensive and high profile Pre-orders.

Yes, but your wording, to me, made it sound like you thought they charged up front for everything, sorry if that wasn't your intent.

Might have something to do with the fact that UK law is more standard & easier to comply with at retail than the EU? I recall originally Transformers also arrived back in 80's 1 year ahead of the continent in the UK. I bet they have distributor agreements that need to expire or be modified before they can just jump into it. Remember, there is only one place more litigious & money seeking than CA & that is the EU...

Until Brexit the UK had the same retail laws as the EU. Transformers made it's early debut in the UK because Hasbro had a direct channel and there was no language barrier.
The continent had other toy manufacturers that cooperated with Hasbro for their respective countries, but they had to go through a language and culture barrier first. In some cases it was more complicated, because some toy manufacturers actually had distribution rights to Diaclone and Microchange for their respective markets from Takara.
It's easier now, because Hasbro now has international divisions and local EU headquarters.

The UK is now likely getting their own Pulse access before the EU, because they now don't fall under the same customer protection laws as the EU, plus the aforementioned language barrier.
Hasbro is likely going to rework Pulse to be able to implement it in the EU, but that entails not just complying to the EUs laws, but also localizing everything for all the member states. That means French, German, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, , etc languages and infrastructure for those countries. It's a bit more difficult than just adding shipping to a country that speaks the same language.

Only the brand itself has been renamed. The actual Mr. Potato Head toy is still going to be called that as is Mrs. Potato Head.
