See, what you've done there is to merely change a few words around and call it your own idea. Mere plagiarism alone isn't going to help your case, kiddo.

    Nice try, though.

However, the original osko (Aoyi Mech?) is basically the original and much beloved SS version, which is easy to transform, has CHROME (!!!) and poseable hands and is as cheap as chips. Of all of my three OSKO Prime variants of this figure, it's the one I have transformed the most:

    -

Order it here: - MW GOD OF WAR OVERSIZED SS38 W8616

    7234130ea0.jpg.500x500.jpg
It's not got the same amount of paint apps as the other 3P/KO figs, but it's got light-up eyes (batteries included), the aforementioned chrome and it's only around 60 dollars.

    THIS.

    The defense rests, Your Honour.

You DO know, that in that scene, the "laughing" character is the ignorant @rsehole boss, refusing to accept the POV of the film's main hero, right?

Perhaps the film is a bit before your time?

    I kid you not!

I get why people aren't too happy with Studio Series '86, but while stylized like G1, this is literally a Live Action Movie character.

EDIT: I don't get why taking the original elements that its based on suddenly became lazy. The original Optimus Prime was pretty iconic and a lot of people, including myself, wanted to see something like that on the big screen in live action. I'm not opposed to something different, but it's not really lazy

Yes that's the strange option they choose. The lateral part can lift That's the problem, the lateral can slide to move diagonally the arm, but NOT the entire shoulder that is fixed to the body and can only rotate like a Bayblade

THIS. What a stupid choice. It can only spin like a Bayblade.

I mean... I really want to like him, but the new one just doesn't feel Masterpiece quality to me. For example, the arm panels: Hasbro's has them just hanging there unlike Toyworld's, which has clean arms. Also, note the hollow forearms and the floating wrists on Hasbro's version. No Masterpiece could ever be released with that sort of shitty arm design.

And Toyworld's truck doesn't have freaking cat ears! Seriously, he feels more like an upscaled Studio Series toy than an actual MP. Also I have no idea why they don't make him the right model of truck when they clearly have enough license to make the MP G1 Optimuses into Freightliners. Toyworld got it more accurately particularly around the headlights and grille.

Won't speak about fiddliness or QC issues since I don't actually have the Toyworld one, but... (glances at MPM-04 Optimus) I don't exactly have high hopes.

I don't get why people are saying the 3rd Party options are superior or that this is superior to them.
    They all have problems.
This does some things better than the 3rd Party releases (the legs for instance), and they do other things better than this.

The only two figures that get the bot-mode perfect are 3A and Yolo Park. And those are expensive premium action figures that don't transform and thus can basically use the CGI model as a basis.

This figure looks good and is yet another option to get this design as a transforming figure. It's not perfect, but no transforming figure of this design is.

It doesn't need to be a masterpiece moment to have the ears fold down (either way).

Masterpiece Designer: "There you go, that's the best I can do."

Masterpiece Manager: "Yes, that's great. Let's go with that".

Random person: "Can't you just make those ears fold down somehow so it looks a little less like a cat?"

Masterpiece Manager: "No. How on earth would we do that? It sounds tricky. People won't notice. It's perfect as it is. Leave it like that."

The only thing that makes me upset on this figure is those forearm panels. Like, you couldn't possibly hide those? It's the same kibble as the SS one and looks really awful not just because it's a truck panel, but mainly because it really messes with the silhouette and makes the (otherwise quite good-looking) arms feel blocky, large and makes the figure look cheap. Other than that I think it looks decent (oh and the matrix being a straight G1 design is lame).
I guarantee it wasn't the designer's fault, but rather a sales person saying "target is coming in on monday and we need to present them with a finished product. Stay up all night and finish it and it can only cost this much".

Without the cat ears, the truck mode is pretty ‘meh’. I don’t even need an accurate truck model either. Just give it a bit more dignity ... and freaking fix the ears.

The bot mode is beautiful... until you get to the arms. This is what kills it for me: The hugely visible truck panels on a Masterpiece figure where the $30 version did a better job disguising them. I mean, really? And the immobile shoulders don’t help.

Since we didn’t see the matrix in the film, I’d be willing to lose that gimmick if it meant fixing the arms.

Fix that stuff and we can talk.

As much as I really want to like this, I'm just gonna close my eyes and wait to see what the KO fixes.

The difference in design quality between the official and the 3P versions, as well as the "mainline" Masterpieces is a budget ceiling about $100 lower.

The movie designs demand just as much intricate engineering as the black-magic animation-accurate designs, but the larger figures have all had notable handicaps due to that budget shortfall. The 3P offerings are all similarly at the ~$200 pricepoint. This one's going to be a mere ~$130, so that it can slip into mass-retail worldwide, at stores like Target.
