Maketoys dropped the ball. When Starscream was first release back in 2017, Skyward and Thundercracker should of been released right after the mold was a hit, followed by the Coneheads. I think to much time and energy was spent of the unnecessary Sunstorm crowdfund and then the failed Hotlink.

Last year I called the release dates they gave us ridiculous, but people were acting as if MT has the power to cancel CNY.

    ROFL.

I've got the KBB Thrust and Ramjet. Never found the third KBB, so went Maketoys Endgame/Dirge.
Lots of greeblie lines or what not on the KBB coneheads which some here may like or dislike. I was fine with it although I personally find MP-52/MP-52+ better looking.

    Pros:
KBB figures were inexpensive. I think I got them for $60 each on e-Bay in early-mid 2020?
They look like good MP figures for the coneheads. Especially next to MP-11.

    Cons:
Shoddy packaging and my Ramjet had a broken tail fin out of the box. The whole plastic tray was cheap and the figure broke free inside the box during delivery. Still need to glue that fin.
The heads on KBB are small. Seeing them next to Maketoys or TT isn't great.
Thrust has his wings way too high. They sit up high like an MP-11 mold, but once you see the cartoon version has Thrust's engines/wings at his waist I can no longer "unsee it".

So I was hoping Maketoys may actually get their Thrust out to stores as scheduled just because it seemed a nice upgrade. KBB looks fine in jet-mode so I was just thinking of getting an update for 'bot mode. At this point TT may beat Maketoys to the coneheads. I'll wait to see images of TT before making decisions. I do like my Endgame/Dirge (more than my KBB) so TT will need to do something really neat to get me to upgrade him.

I grabbed the zeta reissue of the toyworld coneheads for this reason. They are very different style wise, and the high different is very apparently when next to the maketoys ones. If you display them without the maketoys on mp ones (like season 2 decepticons) they do look a lot better.

So the Skullface video today said the Maketoys Coneheads were pushed back to 2022? Did that come out from Maketoys somewhere? I hadn’t heard any news of an official delay (not that I was expecting them on time)

Pay for designs and then don't do anything with them, it's a bold strategy.

Makes me wonder if we are funding someones personal bank account. Instead of funding the next figure.

Yeah, from what I can tell, this was just a mistake based on TF Source's listings moving both Ramjet and Thrust back to 2022 when only Thrust was supposed to be delayed. Since then, TF Source has relisted the ETA for Ramjet as March 2021.

The best guess I heard from a sales rep was that he was expecting that they would keep the March release date and then spread out the releases of Acid Storm and the re-issues of the three original Seekers between then and January 2022. I have Ramjet pre-ordered, so I'm hopeful, but I would take all of this as an informed estimate for now.

Yes Model's Thrust can position his wings down low at least.

True, but I couldn't find anyone still selling Yes Model seekers in 2020.

I don't see them at bababobo, Show.Z, BBTS, TF Source, etc. I spotted about one of each for both Yes Model and KBB on e-Bay. Yeesh, these are getting harder and harder to find. Sure seems like MakeToys could swoop in and make a killing on Coneheads in 2021 before TT finishes the main 3 seekers and turns their attention to these guys.

ΚΒΒ can do that as well, problem is you are limiting its leg articulation to MP Ratchet/Ironhide (without the upgrade) levels....

We have news. Per TF Source, they have a definitive shipping notification on MT Acid Storm, meaning he'll likely be on the shelf in a few weeks.

It's not the news I wanted as far as their version of Booster/Ramjet goes, but at the very least, it reiterates that they're not out of business, like some people have been insisting for months. It also doesn't mean that Booster is even their next release, with Meteor's reissue being a possibility. But again, it makes me think that the Coneheads and other reissues for Lighting and Skycrow are all but guaranteed to happen.

According to the TFCON presentation Acid Swarm was supposed to come out in January, so looks like MT is running a couple of months behind schedule, which I guess isn't a huge surprise. It also said Meteor should have been out the same time as Acid Swarm.

Either way maybe we'll get Booster in April???

From hearing Bobby Skullface and others it appears that Booster and Jetstream are coming next year. Maketoys is obviously having financial trouble and can barely get out reissues of Meteor and Acid Storm. Those are likely the only releases this year. I now have serious doubts we get the last two Coneheads and sadly Takara is going to catch up and displace them on Seekers and Coneheads. I am stupidly going to wait but I still have my Yes Model Coneheads.

All evidence points in the opposite direction. Bobby said that in his video because TF Source mistakenly moved Booster back to January 2022 instead of Jetstream. They fixed it right afterwards.

I don't know which order they'll be coming in, but they've had two reissues ship in the past four months.

All evidence points to them rereleasing Jazz and one other figure in the past two years. They keep moving back figures that have been completed for 2 years. They are not doing development on Jetstream and Booster because those have been completed for a long time. They don't have the money to do production. It's just that simple. A lot of us have been following this breakdown for a long time and a long road of broken promises. The first sign of trouble was abandoning Crosshairs, Buster, Hydra, and Apeface. Next, was the neverending delay of Highbrow and Brainstorm that have prototypes. Next, was delay of Meteor and botched release of Galaxy Meteor. Next, was the change in direction away from G1. Then the ridiculous long delay of the Coneheads. Then the stupid crowdfunding and releases of everything but what is wanted.
