@Flapjacks Got some stuff I today including Robocop. No time to take better pics: Short review: She is swee-eet! Is it worth it? Well, in this world where all these collectibles are overpriced, I’d say this one is as well. Compared to other figures with comparable build and quality, it’s right on par. I really love the diecast parts including the magnetic chest covers. Details and finish are excellent. As mentioned, articulation is good but not blowing anyone’s minds - it moves well and enough to recreate what Robocop can do in the movies. I think the leg holster mechanism could be perfect if they incorporated some sort of spring or hydraulic pop out motion with better clamp to hold the gun but it’s already pretty nice for how small an area it fits in. I don’t regret the buy and can easily say this is a definitive Robocop figure that makes me confident I won’t have to buy another one again. I can’t imagine that the Mafex or any other Robocop figure is close to being as good as this one is. Only thing is, too bad for Robocop but what were the chances that on the same day, I received another Goodsmile figure since I have less than 10 Goodsmile figures in my entire collection? I love my Ghost in the Shell! And what a nice surprise that at least one company isn’t afraid to release action figures with smoking accessories!
With the exception of the gun holster not sliding out, the way the leg opens up to holster the Auto-9 is very accurate to the movie. I guess that's why I like it so much.
Yeah, that part is what I was referring to when I mentioned I wish there was an auto motion gimmick...for the holster. The leg panels are excellent.
Played around with Robocop today and he's a very good, but not quite excellent Robocop figure. The silver paint has got a great shimmer, heft is nice from the diecast and the articulation is acceptable for Robocop. I really wish he had some drop-down hips to get more range of motion. Love the ratchet joints in the knees. The rifle is really cheap looking and feeling, needs better everything (paint, detail and better plastic). Joints are good on my copy and QC wise things are good, but there are a few imperfections on his helmet. So far I'm happy and he'll be my Robocop on the shelf.
Agree the rifle could/should have been better but does the job. I didn't want a Robocop figure to ever buy one before but this one called to me and I'm happy I got it. Like I said before, I can't imagine any of the other Robocop figures being close to as good as this but I am curious what people who have them all think.
LOL I always wanted a Robocop figure for the longest time. But everything I've seen never tickled my fancy... until this came around. I'm quite content and happy with it. Yeah it's not perfect but it's closerenough for me. Agreed, @Sup3hobo the rifle definitely could have been done better. I also removed the legs and stored them in the accessory box with the Auto-9. Otherwise putting it on the stand you got this weird space to contend with as the suspended legs can't fold out of the way.
DHL dropped this off earlier. It’s a cool little figure but it is missing the purplish hue in the silver paint. Can’t say this is the definitive robocop figure. Maybe in the 1/12 scale? Perhaps I was expecting more since I have the hot toys 1/6. It’s still a cool figure for messing around with on your desk. It just doesn’t wow me like threezero’s Patlabor unit 1 at similar price point.
Got mine this morning...and within thirty minutes of opening it, had a brutal migraine set in. What fiddling I got to do left me mostly impressed. Biggest concern I have is the ankles. They seem rather loose. The assault cannon is definitely cheap-feeling. But as it's more of a bonus accessory, I'm okay with it. The lack of a blast effect for the Auto 9 is odd, but not a big issue. The double-jointed elbows is new for a Robocop, and really help hit those shooting poses he would strike in the movie. Haven't had a chance to compare to the Mafex yet, but I'm not 100% this will top it. Still, it's a very solid Robocop and definitely happy to have it in my collection.
Oh ok. I know it's a different version but I wonder how this will stack up against Diaclone's Gridman.
THE GATTAI Thunder Gridman -TOKUSATSU EDITION- Gridman The Hyper Agent Hagane Works Thunder Gridman -Tokusatsu Edition- Price: 45,000 (Taxes Included) Release Date: Aug 2021
Hold the phone. Reading the description here, the regular edition markings are stickers, but the one with all the painted-on tampos panel-lining is another $80? Damn it GSC..........
THEY ARE!!! Don't you do this GSC. I bet they have seen the success from Arcadia, and since Sentinel is collaborating with GSC on this toy they just couldn't resist dat money. I also wish the combined mode was larger than 21.5cm. For that price it should at least be 26cm.
