I expected a more complete remodeling, that is, to remove all kinds of bone texture and leave it more similar to how it is known, if they did that, even the T-Rex mode would take a more robotic and no longer fossil appearance.
Ordered two. I like the way it looks, and the Paleotrex mold has been fun to mess with, probably the most fun I’ve had in some time. I have six currently, and mixing this along with the original and the upcoming purple one will yield some fantastic looking creations.
We need to retire the word "iconic." There were people using it to describe Prime's fist color for crying out loud. But that's not what Hasbro Selects are. Maybe Takara would do that down the road, but that's a longer shot than this was.
You could make the argument that Prime's chest windows and grill stomach are iconic though, but I agree that the word feels like it's losing its meaning.
One of the coolest things BW did was hand out the Transmetal/TM2 bodies, and then introduce the BM designs. "Hey look at all four of these characters, they're the same dude." I get why G1 didn't, but we need more stuff like that.
Looks mostly gold "painted". And the parts which look kind of gold aren't really Gold Plastic. You can see that the head is more yellow plastic. $20+ for a Deluxe Class Figure based upon a character from 1 Episode of Season 2 of Beast Wars. One which had a very tragic episode. And the mold they chose was Paleotrex. What should they have done? Made a completely new mold for a Generations Selects figure? Hey. It's not very show accurate but, look. Do you want a new mold that looks like this? Or this And is that Kamen Rider Wizard on your Profile picture? Cool. And another thing about the whole situation, what about Paleotrex? Overall, the only thing they changed was the color and the head. And just that made it ugly? As it has been leaked, Rodimus Prime would be a Leader Class Figure with enough stuff to make it a Commander Class Figure and Galvatron would be a large Voyager Class figure with an added accessory that makes him Leader Class. And anyways, they don't want a Titans Returns Galvatron situation. They have to create brand new molds for the both of them. Like Rodimus Prime isn't going to be a "Evolution-styled" figure and will come with the G1 Toy Trailer Base. I guess I am a bit defensive as, unlike a lot of people, I really like the Fossilizers.
I hope all the fans of this will be just as excited, if Hasbro starts repainting current Kingdom Beast figures, into the remaining main(ish) cast of BW characters, and putting all the Beastyformers in the GS lines as a "cost effective" way to get the remaining cast out. I'm talking about Optimus Primal painted white, with zero mold changes except for a half-baked polar bear head and a robot head, and Hasbro will call it Polarclaw! Or a white Cheetor with stripes, and call it Tigertron! Because Hasbro now knows, as long as it's almost closs, to being something closs, to being sorta recognizable (at least in spirit), the fans will absolutely unquestionably love it!
This figure is cool and ill get it. But as a nontransforming charecter, perhaps a better release would be down the road with a potential leader figure. After all, non Tfing Wheelie was included with grimlock and he does transform in media
Apologies if I'm misreading you. Your statement is reminding me of the people talking about the blue maw issue with Unicron. It makes me wonder if the emotions are the same. Emotions like betrayal and anger.
Hasbro is trolling us how exactly? The only reason we know about Rodimus and Galvatron is because of leaks, we shouldn’t even know about them yet technically. Calling them that just because you’re too impatient isn’t there fault lol. We’re not being trolled that doesn’t make any sense. We’ll get an announcement soon enough
I'm not quite sure how a non-transforming character from a single episode who has received minimal brand recognition is supposed to be equivalent to notable main characters/toyline stand-outs who have received several toys and acknowledgments since their release are supposed to be equivalent, but okay. It's also worth noting that Polar Claw was canceled, at least according to a leaker, and we've gotten listings of a voyager Tigatron from Walmart's systems. But besides all that, how else was Transmutate going to get a figure? She is nowhere near a big enough character to justify a new mold, and no other character even remotely fits. This way, a fairly obscure character can sell based on the fact that she's got a neat gimmick that leans heavily into owning other figures.
