So Mark is clearly just having fun then, which I think is a good thing. This might not be exactly what people want out of a transmutate but it's a creative and cost effective way to get one that doesn't need to be seperated as a BAF, or released in a non-transforming line.
I'm kinda glad to see so much disdain for this figure. Means I'll have an easier time grabbing multiple copies!
BAF was doable in 2006 because rereleasing molds is cheaper provided they didn't degrade too much A Transmutate just isn't possible in mainline, she has nothing to transform into, she has no mold reapaint candidates or retool potential and there's a lot of work for something that isn't that cultually significant outside of the fandom. Hopefully a RED of her is gonna get made, but for now that'll do. I'll pick this one up even though its rough around the spots, at least she gets the vibe right and I don't need to dump 20 bucks to make it look more like the part (CDF Hot Shot). I wished that they retooled the chest to look more like the show or used different paint mapping, but whatever.
Sigh. Jeez Louise. These people are judging Transmutate as being "Ugly." It (at the time, Transmutate was an "it".) was never supposed to look good. It was ugly on the exterior, but this belies the shear power within. With its/her Sonic Scream, it/she can utterly destructive. Seriously, the people judging Transmutate because of its/her look are ignoring the point of the episode. Seriously, the point of the episode is very much "Don't judge a book by its cover." And that's what people are doing. Seriously, the way they constructed it is awesome and the use of Paleotrex's mold was amazing. It was better than I expected. So, please. Wait til it gets released.
It hasn't really affected gold plastic in a while, but.... Well, UW Motormaster is the most recent sufferer of it. On his silver Botcon Electro's gold is completely fine, ironically.
Once again, people are allowed to not like an ugly toy. It doesn't have any character to judge outside of its looks. Enough with the philosophical arguments, it misses the point of the complaints to begin with. The toy is ugly and not worth the $20+ to some people.
I've always hated this character. I just hate the design. I guess that's probably half of the point though. Super easy pass. NOW. Almost all Hasbro's other brands have had their "Fan First Friday" events, and this is the best they give us?? Hasbro is just straight trolling Transformers fans at this point. Probably going to make us wait another month or two before they show off Galvatron and Rodimus. F***ers.
This is why I think they intentionally released both a repackage of Prime along with Primal in the first wave of Kingdom, so they could feed both sides of the Truk Not Munky conflict.
