Getting harder and harder for me not to want to get this guy.

 

I like the changes they made. Drill is super round, submarine has those propulsion things on its sides, copter has 3 blades, they look good

 

Bit disappointed with the main truck, looks like arms are still the same, not enough to stop me from getting this though, just hope theres a way to fake the proper look. Drones looking super good though, looking forwards to seeing more pics

 

The arms don't bother me that much, and I'm sure without the trailer one can do it. Still I'm glad Fans Hobby are the ones doing this guy and Armada Prime. For some of the inaccuracies I doubt they'd possibly be as fun if done by most other 3rd party companies.

 

Yeah its only a minor complaint, borderline nitpick, on my end. Just liked the silhouette of the truck and trailer with the parallel slopes, but again, no where near a dealbreaker for me. And they'd probably be about 3 times as expensive if done by some other company

 

Hoping I can get this, although I’m mostly saving for their Megatron. Still wondering if we’re getting more UT figures from them besides Armada Overload and Jetfire (that’s if they’re still in the pipeline after the whole thing with Optimus)

 

Also just realized that this guy doesn't have the fuel tanks on his legs like the original had.

The second pre-order for Naval Commander sold out despite the set back of the first batch and they're still putting out updates for figures like this, Armada Megs, and their junior headmasters.
I think it's safe to assume they're still happening.

 

I really hope FansHobby continue the path they've chosen so far by doing toys of the leaders of both factions from the Unicron Trilogy. Would love to see their take on Superlink Omega Supreme and the combined form of Omega Convoy. Preferably as he appears in the show as completely encased inside Omega and not as the toy - with most of the truck sticking out the back.

Most definitely also want to see their versions of Galaxy Convoy & Master Megatron, with a focus on producing their sidekicks that they combine with; LigerJack, Sonic Bomber & Dark LigerJack. With todays technology I think we stand a good chance of getting a fully functioning fist as a part of LigerJack/Dark LigerJack combo. here's hoping....

 

I'm looking forward to seeing their Energon Megatron aka Superlink "Galvatron-SAMA!" whenever that day comes, if that day comes.

That is true, but there’s no way it wasn’t cheap for Fans Hobby. I definitely think that they’ll try to aggressively ensure that the plastic is up to scratch form now on

 

*sigh* Why did I decided to become a broke college student again? Already had to cancel my Naval Commander preorder because of finances and now I won't be able to afford this either.

 

It will all pay off. There will always be something cool to buy and more awesome releases in the future. Your schooling will allow you to buy whatever you want and have a decent life hopefully. The action figures will still be there but the time you have to go to school you will never get back.

 

This guy is super exciting, I’ve always wanted the original despite the shortcomings, so I’m glad to have the opportunity with an improved version

 

The Japanese or just general Asian market release is a bit better than the original and still worth picking up if you can find it, I grabbed the Korean version off of eBay a few months ago and it’s pretty fun. The Asian market version comes with his white blaster too so that’s a plus.

 

I'm interested in the design changes to the drones, particularly the submarine. It was always the lamest drone, with not real gimmicks and wasn't really very submarine-looking. It felt like they just needed one more limb and didn't care what kind of vehicle it looked like.

Don't both versions of Energon Optimus come with his white blaster? I agree, though, the original is fun, especially if you have Wingsaber with the two different combined mode. Chunky, solid, and quality construction. The Japanese version also looks pretty nice with the chrome and deep blue.

 

I don’t think they do, but I could be wrong. I’m sure there’s a version that doesn’t come with it.
