That's a easy way to get Goofy. Other than an expensive train.

Had a chance to build the GWP vintage cars. They look good together!

    20210222_134406_copy_1008x756.jpg 20210222_134427_copy_756x1008.jpg 20210222_134416_copy_756x1008.jpg 20210222_134444_copy_1008x756.jpg 20210222_134435_copy_1008x756.jpg 20210222_134356_copy_1008x756.jpg

I made some slight mods to the more recent one. Those white surfboards weren't working for me and I hated how easily they fell off. So I replaced them with simple white tiles. Also changed the side mirrors (the old ones were too big) and gave the car some exhaust pipes. Finally, I gave the car some fins and additional greebling with the binocular pieces. I might add some metallic silver ice cream pieces to the front fascia like the original designer intended.

LEGO Amelia Earhart Tribute (40450) Official Images

It looks... pretty darn simple. And stickered up. Like, even the map is a sticker?? Surely they could get enough mileage (ahaha) out of that to make it a print.

Also kind of odd that the stand looks just as large as the plane itself. I'd rather they put more pieces into the latter, although I guess the stand could be useful for displaying other Lego vehicles as well.

Undecided if I'll try to snag this one or not. Might depend on if the Blacksmith comes back in stock during the availability period, haha.

The Ideas one looks great! I hope they make that one available again at some point. There was absolutely nothing in stock that I wanted the last time.

Thanks! I tried playing around with different windshield pieces too but others either looked too small or too big or just didn't look right with the car.

Yeah, the plane does look over simplified. I was planning to mod it to make it bigger so it'd fit at least one minifig but I doubt it'd be worth the trouble. It still looks good but as a micro scale vehicle and not much more.

Like you said, the display stand looks more promising and useful to display other vehicles like Star Wars stuff.

Speaking of, I modded my TIE Interceptor yet again using instructions from (mostly for the body of the Interceptor with the rounded ball cockpit and wing struts plus increased strength using clips and brackets for the wings; those wings aren't going anywhere now):

I might use the Amelia Earhart display stand for this instead.

Nice mods on it. I do agree that I wish the surfboards fit better since I liked the curves they give to the sides, just annoyed that they seem to fall off really easily.

Hmm, I did want this before this photo. Now not sure... Ah, heck who am I fooling, yeah I will want it.

I also am an idiot and forgot that Lego discontinues the previous Series Lego "character packs" when the new one comes out. For some reason I figured I could at least find them online from other shops but it seems that the Mario Series 1 is completely gone from normal sites. Still annoyed that I never managed to get a Bullet Bill even after buying so many and now the costs are going up on eBay (of course).

You can see if any of your local Targets still have some in stock:
LEGO Super Mario Character Packs Building Kit; Collectible Toy for Kids to Enhance Gameplay 71361

I have a handful of extra Series 1, but no Bullet Bill unfortunately. I have Paragoomba, Fuzzy, Peepa, and either Buzzy Beetle or Spiny.

I just completed Series 2 for my daughter. These are fun little builds, she really enjoys them. Unfortunately our Mario started to malfunction (chest always shows the Bluetooth symbol, and he just makes random effect noises) and so I had to request a replacement from Lego CS - luckily they are sending a new one with barely any questions asked.

Thanks for checking! Yeah the closest one that says in stock is pretty far away and no pick-up options unfortunately (I checked this past weekend hoping to find one in stock and it still shows). I forgot how many we ended up buying in the end and Bill kept on evading us. Probably because my wife wanted him out of the entire set (always the case in collecting blind bags).

Sucks that your Mario started to malfunction, but glad that Lego is going to replace him for you. Do you have to return the malfunctioning one or can you do surgery on it to see if you can fix it?

I do have to send it back yeah. It's ok I don't have time to tinker with it. I spent an hour troubleshooting it, reset and flash new firmware etc. I don't know what else to try anyway. A quick Google search showed that others have had the same problem but none of the proposed solutions worked.

So just a little bit of disappointment from LEGO here, I've been buying the Disney sets for my 4 year old daughter and she loves them! She says she gets to build the people, and I get to build the building. Deal! Lol anyways, I got her these three for Christmas and I thought I would try one of the 4+ sets for her thinking maybe she could build it. As the rest were all 6+.

Nope. Which is to be expected though. Because looking at the box, its all the same types of pieces, LEGO is LEGO. Thats fine.

But where my dissapointment lays is with just how much shittier this thing stays together. Its floppy and falls apart easy, the characters and table and chair sets have no where to really go, this is by far the worst designed LEGO set I've ever seen. The pieces and mini figs are all identical to any lego set, but the design of the castle is extremely poor.

I would have expected Repunzles tower to be utterly destroyed all the time. But nope, even that thing is more solid than Beasts castle, and the Aurora cottage is solid as a rock, like any regular LEGO set. Well thats because it is a regular LEGO set I guess lol

Anyways, there is my little review and if you guys are looking into these Disney Princess sets, stay away from the 4+ series. I dunno, maybe its just this set, but anyways.

I wanna get her the Arendale castle next but shes running out of room to display it lol shes so awesome at collecting stuff and keeping it nice, i got all the boxes tucked away in her closet for her.

I've also gotten here those little Disney Story Book sets and even they are great. She has all 5 released so far i think.

Gotcha, that is understandable (and yeah I completely understand not having time to tinker/dissect especially with kiddos).

That is a disappointment that they aren't solid. Wonder if they made it that way for the younger kids to not have to press as hard to assemble (which leads to them being easier to fall apart)?

That could be. The regular 5+, 6+ and 6-12 aged sets are all fine.

Put together some boats. Really dig the Creator yacht and wish I had two of these sets to make a bigger super yacht. Just made some small mods to the top section with the antennae, made the ice cooler an attachable piece on the back deck, and added a bathroom door (for privacy; no one wants to do their business out in the open :D ).

Added the metallic silver ice cream pieces to the front of the vintage Ideas GWP car. I dig it!

Also built the Bulldozer set. Such an awesome build and a big, beefy construction vehicle that rolls great (sure it cheats using rubber wheels hidden underneath but it makes the treads move so well) with great detailing and a simple but functional front blade mechanism.

It's also pretty cool that there's a bulldozer that looks almost exactly like this set that I pass by most everyday to and from work (its treads are yellow instead of black and it has more traction blades in the rear). It's parked as a permanent display at a roundabout in honor of our local civil engineering unit, I believe.

$50 set, four figs, only hand full of pieces short of the other set, costing $80

    What?

Yeah, everyone knows the Grievous set is wildly overpriced. The Jangbricks review of it is pretty funny because he's usually a chill guy and he kind of goes on about it.

I haven't gotten a lego set in gosh... When did they start using those rotary stud shooters? Prices jacked up, sets got gimmicky and my interest in Star Wars plummeted.

If I was still into it, I'd get that X-Wing, looks pretty crisp.
