New announcement from Certain Affinity (sort of) - publicly reveals they are leading development on a new original IP Game and offering tons of new positions within the company.

Today we’re excited to reveal that we’re leading development on a new original IP! Are we excited to take on a genre and style of game that we’ve always loved? Thrilled beyond words! Are we honored to be bringing this game to market? Indescribably so! Are there any other tantalizing details regarding this new venture? More than we can say! And we mean that quite literally: the particulars of this new game are still VERY much under wraps. All we can say for now is that this ambitious new project is the culmination of our goals to steadily and healthily grow a world-class team to create an original IP.

We’re led by Max Hoberman, our Founder and CEO, and the former Multiplayer and Online Lead for the Halo series, we have built an industry-leading team that has been going strong since 2006. With 250+ employees, we are the largest independent developer in Austin, Texas. Our company continues bringing together many of the most talented developers in Austin and at our sister studio in Toronto. A New Original IP Game & Lots of Hiring! - Certain Affinity

 

I honestly pray it's Transformers man. Could really use some good news right now. Plus we are long overdue for a new Transformers game. Rise of the Dark Spark was an embarrassment, Devastation was good but lacked in content, and Battlegrounds didn't look good.

 

Original IP means it’s their own in house owned IP. Otherwise it would be licensed.

This unfortunately has nothing to do with transformers.

 

Yes, I'm aware. I was mostly skeptical about how they referred to the title as Transformers was described as their most ambitious and biggest project to date back when the documents leaked in 2017. Of course, this could have very well changed over the past few years. Honestly, I ultimately don't think it has anything to do with Transformers either.

 

Damn, thought we'd get some news on this. Sounds to me like a sike situation, hey you guys want to hear about our new game? Yes! Alright here ya go. Wait that's not the right ga... Sike you thought it was Transformers but its not.

Would not he surprised if we don't hear anything till next year or the end of this one just because of how bad this year seems to be going so far. Also, they may and try to put this as their main game because its there own IP so transformers may get sidelined because they don't care as much.

 

Damn I got click baited by RBG into thinking there was news on this game but apparently Youtubers don't understand what "new original IP" means.
If they were working on this new IP for years that basically confirmed TF project died years ago and they shifted onto something new.

 

He is not the first to do that. I don't watch any YouTuber "leak" videos if its anywhere near the 10 minute mark either. YouTubers have become so desperate.

 

I had a smidgen of hope when I clicked on that video, but damn if RBG didn't snuff it out.

 

Never trust a channel that has 3 mid role ads in a 8 minute video and posts nothing but pure garbage clickbait that has nothing of worth.

 

No, it doesn’t confirm anything of that sort. If the original IP isn’t Transformers, which I’m sure it isn’t, it’s one of the 3 co-development projects mentioned in the article.

 

times like these i wish bumblebee or the op of this thread could just post all the information that's been leaked thus far on the front page. literally nothing points to this game being cancelled when you look at the facts and to think certain affinity is attempting to step into the light with games of their own, it would be a stupid move to drop their biggest/one of their biggest titles.

 

It's clickbait and nothing more. Don't expect official news till like E3 or something, as I got a feeling they will announce their new IP first, then Transformers. Rule of thumb is to really not trust anyone putting out info as 99% are just bs-ing or straight up making stuff up, especially on YouTube.

I guess the good news of the week is that their building wasn't damaged in the recent storm, so I guess that's good news. Besides that, still betting we won't hear a peep on this game for a very long time.

Same, we don't need a continuation of the shitshow that was 2020 and have something like their studios get heavily damaged and they lose months of work. Thankfully that's not the case and they lost like a week-ish of work, which really isn't that bad.

And as far as updates goes, honestly, if people care that much, just start a new thread like confirmed things or official updates. If they ask why just say this thread is too long and it probably won't be merged.

 

I was thinking when official news drops they’ll make a new thread in the News and Rumours. Who knows though.

 

I doubt they will, as it is video game related and for the most part, the vast majority of users on the site probably don't care that much about a new video game (but who knows) so it will most likely stay in this section, but I could be wrong, as i haven't seen gameplay yet.

Like I said earlier, I bet once this game gets fully announced, name, gameplay, and all, then a new thread will be created for that. I am betting as well that I am probably not the only one who hates 100 page threads for stuff because it's a pain in the ass to keep track of what's going on, so a new thread will be created to put relevant info up front.

 

Honestly I don't expect anything before summer, it'll probably shown at either Microsoft or sony's livestreams

 

I'm a huge war thunder fan and beast wars fan free to play here's hoping a bw update to certain affinity new transformers online

 

We can only hope that if the game is successful, it gets several updates down the line.

I’m very confident we will get Beast Wars in the game. The leaks hint very strongly towards it and Certain Affinity has permission to use those characters with the licensing agreement.
