It’s weathering effect, it’s all over the body. The paint dose chip a little bit during transformation, I guess it has something to do with the thickness of the paint they used

I have UT Challenger now and this looks pretty good but not sure I like the weathered look.

It dose have a bit too much weathering in truck mode, looks ok in bot mode. Compares to ut, I think the biggest problem with tw op is the transformation, it’s not as easy as ut. It’s complicated and it dose have some tolerance issues, that is also why I have to use hair dryer to fix some pugs. I still love this figure, will take him as no. 1 knight op. And if you watch the movie again, the transformation is actually movie accurate.

Added an Autobot sticker (cut out from the Reprolabels TLK Optimus sticker set) to his chest.

I think all the weathering on this figure is supposed to be indicative of his space travels in The Last Knight.

The biggest issue for transformation other besides all the tolerances, comes from these two connection parts ( each with 2 screws at the end). They are the main parts for hood transformation and you have to staff the arms into the hood. The problem is, they are too short, giving very limited space for you to operate the big arms. I wonder if any one can diy them, so that they can be extendable, which gives extra 1-2cm space during transformation, that will smoothen the process a lot AE7D0A93-422D-41A7-AABA-732AAF158AE1.jpeg

I have to say, the weathering is a little overdone. It's much more subtle in the movie.

I just tf'ed it last night, and I would have to agree with the sentiment. It was 50 minutes of frustration and practically a nightmare to figure it out. Hopefully the second time and thereafter I will warm up to it. Most complicated figure in my collection so far.

UPDATE: I transformed him from truck to robot for the first time this morning, and I learned a lot more of his transformation and tab system. It was way MORE fun, enjoyable, and his body is much more compact than when I first got him out of the box.

In particular, the sides of his abdomen and diaphragm feel very stable, as opposed to feeling like they're going to "explode". Once I fully positioned the double hinge (see the yellow rectangle below) the tab beside the front tire registered beautifully, at the green arrow:

Up until last night, I really had to squeeze his sides into position.

Another cool thing I didn't know until now: the front fenders plug into the tanks behind his shoulders!

Yeah every time I look at his pictures of Orion, it looks like it’s modded. Chest don’t look wide at all which is surprising to me and truck colors actually looks decent.

I don't think I've ever seen Ben get this frustrated over a figure before

must be a representation of when he booted back up, because when he was floating about he looked more like he was caked in a layer of space cocaine

Ben isn't a very good reviewer, although I do believe that it's a difficult figure to transform.

I'm honestly surprised prime's bot mode didn't have the entire chest splayed open with ben reviewing it.
