That’s interesting that they’ve told some people that they’ll be sending a whole new core robot. They just told me “your information is recorded, thank you”.

 

They said the same to me. Nothing else was said about a potential replacement... I will wait and see.

 

I took apart one of my copies of Naval Commander to see how a potential fix could work and honestly it’s not that hard to see how they could fix the problems it’s just a matter of whether or not it’s really worth it as to replace the hood hinge you need to remove more or less the entire torso...same goes for the cracked leg pieces on the waist..

 

Does anyone here have a "perfect" copy with no QC issues? Mine's been sitting in the livingroom to bring it down to room temperature (still in the shipping box) since yesterday afternoon. I'm hoping this will negate any problems I've seen here. This in part, is wishful thinking lol. Will post pics later

 

Ooooookay, based on the comments from several people here, I’ve decided to cancel my preorder. I’ll wait until the second release.

 

Not that I’m saying people should go and grab this figure. Just informing that ToyDojo has it in stock.

I was probably going to pull the trigger on this when toy dojo got their stock in. But with all the issues being documented I’m going to sit out until a future production run is confirmed to be problem free.

As an aside, I am kind of self-committed to getting the XTransbots Stunticon trailer when Toy Dojo get it in so I’ve still got $200+ going towards a big figure with highly questionable QC.  

 

Opened the shipper box and shone a flashlight through the packaging. Yup, the hinges are cracked.
So.. do I contact the seller or Fans Hobby? I think the answer here is to replace the whole cab completely as most QC issues are there.

 

Go to Fanshobby with an invoice from the place you bought your copy if you want replacement parts or if you’d rather your money return to shipper since you didn’t open yours  

 

What I did was sending the pics of the figure straight out of the box to them on Facebook. They answer really fast so that is worth trying. I don't have FB so I used my wife's account when I was back home from a week's driving the truck.

 

I don’t have Facebook, anyone know if they respond on Instagram?

 

Yes, just as responsive on Twitter too. Anywhere they have a social media presence they’ll answer. More likely through DM rather than posts and tagging.

 

Okay I’ve DM’ed them, I’ll wait and see if they reply Monday.

 

Reporting back real quick regarding the waist cracks.

After a moderate application of super glue and drying for a few days. The cracks haven’t gotten bigger there and no new ones that’s I’ve seen.

Has anyone been able to unscrew and take apart the core robots legs at all? I’m trying to so I can see about shaving the plastic that holds the legs while extending so it’s not as tight. I’ve had no luck in disassembling them though.

That figure is so nice. What a shame! I can't wait for them to fix it so we can all enjoy it.
I am curious though about how many people got the crack at the core bot legs. I don't understand why it cracks at that spot!

 

1. Does the super mode have an ab crunch?
2. What's the bigger handle for on the gun?

 

1. Yes it has an ab crunch, but it’s a real pain to use because of all the weight on the back of the figure and it’s a solid connection.
2. Do you mean the handles on the sides? Because the handle being used to hold it is the same one used in the core robot mode too there’s no smaller handle. The handles on the side come out so it can be used like a turret in base mode or for various ways to store in vehicle mode.

 

Quick PSA regarding the tabs on the truck cab to combine with the trailer..

The right one on mine is starting to show a stress mark, although it could possibly be user error? I’m still trying to work out the process for combining and splitting the legs and torso going back and forth.

Check your copies.

 

PSA: the product you opened is defective. You can continue to "enjoy" it, but returning it to wait for the second run is not unreasonable.
