Fantastic. I'm still being cautiously optimistic when mine comes that the issues are minimal. It is refreshing to see Fanshobby is still interacting with their customers for replacement parts

 

It's a mistake to not go remold crazy and make a good Ruination out of those molds.

 

So, what do we think the odds are of a Shattered Glass version?

 

Strange hearing these issues with the screws, I had no issues with the screw on mine when I put the alt ears on him, however I tried to take off the hood piece to see how easy that torso assembly on cab Optimus would be and one of those stripped even tho I had the proper size screw head, I can't even get the screw out now. The screws seem strangely cheaply made

 

This is disappointing. I wanted this figure a lot but all the issues are turning me off.

 

The screw was tight on mine, but if you saw my review at MW I was able to get it off. Still, the additional cracks and issues like this are why I haven't contacted Fans Hobby yet. I'm going to give it a week or two, see what else cracks, and then I'll talk to them with all my issues all at once. Honestly, I think they're going to have to replace all the core bots from the first batch. While some issues can probably be chalked up to rushing the figure out of the factory before CNY I'm feeling like they really need to switch the red plastic.

 

its such a shame, i really wanted this figure to be as good as it looked, but the quality has completely let it down. only thing that they could do from the looks of it is to provide complete replacement improved cabs+trailer hinges where needed but thats unlikely to happen. i dont think ive seen an issue this bad before, especially on a figure that costs this much. FH will need to be careful with how they handle this situation as it could cost them quite a bit either way.

 

I haven't been to other forums as of late about this in particular but regardless people saying that they were able to unscrew theirs really isn't relevant to mine being shitty (not saying I'm not happy for anyone who didn't have the same crappy experience, but I don't understand the tit-for-tat nature of that sort of response.)

With the cracks, I definitely noticed them on the hinges and the finny part is that I hadn't used some of the hinges they were on at all so seeing them was like.. what? Never really seen things cracked out of the box like that.

This is overall just a really unfortunate situation.

 

The lights were advertised during one of the later prototypes, well before any final images or even colored renders, so it isn't the latest of additions. I think even Sparkplug and the minicon hardpoints were added after the lights

 

This right here makes this whole situation such a bummer. Because that looks incredible (also due to your killer photography) and it’s just such a shame that it has such a long list of issues.

 

Dunno if you mean me specifically, but my comment isn't meant as a "I don't know why you had an issue, but I didn't have that problem," it's more like, "I'm glad that's one issue I seemed to have dodged a bullet on, but the fact that you and others have had that issue reinforces my the impression I got from the issues that I do have that Fans Hobby dropped the ball on QC for this guy."

 

I LOVE this figure. I've got to get it. I believe they're going to fix the quality control issues. I really loved the original Armada Prime. In fact, that's the toy that got me back into collecting Transformers again. This thing looks beautiful.

I think this product being a dud has just really bright me down in the collector-sense. After nothing but G1-Victory and Beast Wars this was the first piece that was an upgraded version of the set of series that I have that throwback attachment to and look at it.

 

I wonder if the “redesign” from the smaller scale to this more “mp” could be to blame? Like some parts and whatnot were designed with different tolerances in mind. And when they decided to upsize it there are issues that crept up that they didn’t expect. ??

 

It doesn't seem like that version ever really got off the ground, it was upsized before any plastic was shown.

 

If they give people new core robot and new ratchets for the trailer (where Kuma Style broke his) then I think we would be pretty much covered. If FH does this, then they are truly awesome as I guess this is the only solution to the problem. Let's wait and see. Has anyone got news yet about how they will fix this?

That would be expensive but it is a great idea. Would love to see something like that.

 

Yes and I don't think it could have been an issue. It could if it had been downsized because joints would have been smaller. But here joints are bigger to go with the weight they hold so I don't see how it could have been an issue. I just hope they send us some complete core bots so we can enjoy that figure. It looks so lovely!

 

I reported to Fanshobby that my first copy has cracks on the leg joints now too and they’ve given me the option of having replacement parts or I can wait to receive a new core bot on its own from the second batch. Not sure which to go for..

 

I'd go for the later if I were you.
