I think it is odd that FT would have the 2 tone side of the arms showing in Menasor mode. It is in the renders plan as day but it such an in accurate choice.

 

Out of stock now. But baba and Show-Z both have it for $200 as well.

Smokey came.



More comparison pics in the comparison thread. Suffice to say that Smokey is adequate. He's the heaviest of the three, which may not work in his favor as a combiner arm. Joint tolerances are generally better than the other two. Smokey probably has the best robot mode of the three, despite the lack of neck. A little block from the sides, but better proportions and engine placement than DX9's, and less back kibble than XTB. While DX9's is still probably the easiest to transform Smokey's not bad at all, much better transformation than XTB. Unfortunately Smokey has the worst car mode. XTB and DX9 are both fairly proportional, but they're different scales. Smokey, meanwhile, is as short as XTB but as wide as DX9, with the least-detailed engine block and a visible metal hinge where the back of the cockpit should be. All-in-all, nothing here really changing my opinion from the previous three; XTB has the best alt modes, Fans Toys has the best robot modes, DX9 is the most playable.

 

I wonder how strong the shoulder ratchets on Marauder will have to be to handle the weight of FT arm-bots.

You'll need a three-person team with a set of tools to turn the arm one click.

 

Regardless of the price it will definitely be cheaper if you PO it than buying it a few hours after normal stock comes in
