Finally got mine tonight! Spend the night fixing the overly tight shoulder joint instead of actually playing with it. The cause was that the yellow mushroom joint is a too thick, and visibly malformed. Sanding the top, as well as rounding the side puts it back to normal tightness.

Also sanding the red paint on the peg located under windshield part, that pegs to the forearm on car mode. The red paint is the main culprit of the horible stressmark on the forearm hole.

More details on what i did, now with picture.
The shoulder joints are too tight on mine, so i tried to open up the shoulder. The shoulder is secured with a screw, and interestingly, a locking teeth.

Opening and inspecting, i found out that not only the yellow mushroom peg is too thick, it is also malformed, not round as it suppose to.
    20210208_192704.jpg
So not only i sanded the flat side, i also have to sand the sides to make it as round as i can. It is already sanded on that pic, but you can see it is still not perfectly round.

While at it, i also cut the peg on the shoulder, as i don't see any actual purpose for that lock to be in there anyway.

After that i sanded both pegs on the cockpit area, both inner and outer side, to prefent ugly stressmark on the forearm.
    20210208_194931.jpg 20210209_203833.jpg

And also, the hole on the front of the windshield actually needs widening too.
    20210208_201639.jpg
As you can see, i already got visible stressmark on the top. I sanded the inner side of the hole with thinly cut sandpaper.

It's actually better to oversand a bit, as the part that pegs on that hole has other locking points anyway.

And finally, i carved the grey joint on one of the ankle, as it was too thick and prevent the leg panel to lock in.

Not the best work, i admit, but it does the job.

After that, all that's left is just light sanding on some area, more for my personal taste.

Gotta say tho, this is a lot of work to do on a single figure, but the end result should be worth it.

This figure convinced me that I made the right choice in switching to a chug style for my movie figures. I would never have all of these in MP form and be as happy with them. These display so nicely and they're actually fun to take off the shelf, transform and play with. And they are a fraction of the cost.

I pulled down my MP-28 just to compared and contrast, and I'm flabbergasted that this toy's head sculpt is not only superior, but it actually has less of a gap/no visible hinge in the helmet near the brow, unlike 28 which has the visor hinge very obviously jutting out.

    This toy is incredible.

    Agree x 99.9999%.

If there's any issue, its the shoulder connection type. I'm concerned with its handling the stresses on it given the materials used.

Sorry to see that, I was transforming mine a few times, and that middle hook like tab in the exhaust is definitely where I'm a bit more careful when connecting the port to the rear half. Love the overall figure.

I noticed today a crack starting to form on the car roof just to the right of where it connects to the body. Plastic is really thin there- anyone else getting this?

Agreed. This is probably the TF figure HasTak has put out at this price point.

And yeah, I totally gave-up on MP too because the QC issues on Optimus (MP-44) and Hound. Never looked back since.

Anyone else feel Kup and Blurr feel a heck of a lot sturdier than Hot Rod who is 50% in price?

I've transformed him to alt mode and back twice now and he has a lot of stress marks :(
