They simply are not cartoon enough for me, sold them all, zero hesitation and made a good profit on them. Truly don't "miss them" one bit.

Way too much bling and the colors on them really do not match. They are the best Dino team out there for sure, as Giga is way too stylized to be even deemed good competition. Not that GIGA is bad, but hell that detail on top of detail is just too much. I really dig their size tho, that's one area they beat FT's offerings.

No other company has ever try to attempt another Dino set, so that's why I believe they tend to be on the overrated camp. Make no mistake, they are not bad figures, but there is no way in hell they are worth what is being asked. Do not be an idiot and do not pay that much (not the OP, but everyone in general).

Stomp is the best of the bunch, and rightly so, it is a great toy.

I keep saying that this is the easiest $$$ FT will ever make if they decide to reissue them, but for some odd reason they don't. Change the paintjob to a more cartoon style and you'll make gazillions. But I guess Spindrift 2.0 is a priority, so.

Thanks! I haven’t been collecting for a while besides the CW Devastator I bought not too long ago (before the reissue of course ‍♂️) and I really wanted to pick up some large, masterpiece style Dinobots; the Fanstoys figures were always my favorite ones. But for the price, I might just have to wait this one out haha.

I love them but I was able to get 3 at retail price, otherwise I probably wouldn't have gone in on them. Seems like it's about $2-300 a bot and $600 or so for Stomp, so yeah, up to $1800 is a lot for 5 bots. I'm sure they'll re-issue eventually

Yeah, was looking into replacing mine after I lost my set, but those aftermarket prices are insanely out of my budget at the moment.

I sold the bunch cause someone offered me alot of money for them, but i kinda regret not trying to sell individually, and just keep Scoria X and Sever X, and maaaybe Soar X as a trio, or get the GP chrome Grimlock, and have only 3 dinobots, as i simply donot have proper room for more than 3 for bot mode, and i dont know, maybe like 2 - 3 for alt mode. Even just Scoria X and Sever X duo would work for me...

I would want a FULLY painted version (gray paint of Thomas for example) in toon colors or chrome, especially a Slag (Scoria or Caesium) and Snarl the most, with hopefully some happy faces, and a black/silver face option for Slag.

I mentioned this a while back in a different thread but I think Fans Toys should redesign their Dinobots instead of reissue the old ones. I think there are a few ways they could improve on the old designs and bring them up to a current standard because while great, the originals are starting to feel outdated. They will always look good on a shelf, I think, but they could always be better, especially in a post "Quietus: the best Action Figure ever made" design landscape.

probably too many combiners to worry about redesigning the FT Dibots though.

    Some cool changes would be

    - Improve Scoria hips (so they are as tight as the rest)
    - Improve Soar feet (so he doesnt fall forward easily)
    - Improve Grinder chest to elbow piece (or make it grey or black at the very least).
    - More Head down articulation on all
    - Happy face for all figures except for Grinder
    - Fully painted
    - Double jointed arms or a bit of ab crunch would be cool, but just mentioning it to be more complete, and not an actual expectation.

It sucks for new collectors. At one point it felt like every year you'd see 2 or 3 definite dinobot reissues. Now, nada. Guess their fan base (and scalper following) has grown so much they don't need to release these guys anymore to make a quick buck.

I got so lucky on every one of these figures barring Cesium. Can't believe what they are worth now... Except stomp, always been a pain to get.

It might also be the case that the heat has gone out of the MP market compared to the original releases when everyone was excited for them (slowdown of the official G1 MP line, market saturation of the existing dinos, high aftermarket prices could indicate rarity but not necessarily high demand). They'd want high confidence that the upfront manufacturing costs of a rerelease would be offset by the sales. As others have noted, the aesthetic and engineering of the line has also progressed in this time, so there might be thoughts about creating new products and not cannibalising their potential by reissuing older designs. There are likely other business pressures we're not aware of as well.

A Gigapower rerelease indicates there's faith in consumer demand, but that move would also have to be taken into account when assessing the viable market space for a Dibot rerelease.

FWIW, I hope it happens. I sold mine long ago due to space concerns, but they're beautiful pieces and I always feel a slight pang of regret at letting them go.

I'm totally content with the Gigapower dinobots on my shelf. But someone suggested that Fans Toys reissue the Dibots with light yellow instead of gold, to look more like the cartoon. If they did that I'd consider buying a set.

I don't think a major redesign would be needed. Really just move the chrome to paint which would make them more toon accurate?

Can I ask how you lost them?

We have renter's insurance and I've been thinking about this sort of thing a lot, i.e. what I'd do if something happened out of my control and I had to replace them.

I reckon they lost the molds. Why else wouldn't they do this? I agree, easy money.

Tell me about it. The Dinobots are, like, easily in the top ten when it comes to the most nostalgic and iconic G1 characters, yet the only option that's even remotely toon accurate is incredibly hard to obtain nowadays. It's kind of crazy. '

It doesn't help that the Dinobots are apparently the most popular group of Fanstoys figures for parents to give their kids and then post pictures of it on Facebook to rub it in everyone's faces. It seems like every few days I see some kid holding a Fanstoys Dinobot worth enough to buy one of every Transformers figure in any given toy aisle at Target. What's the deal with that anyway?
