I'm really excited about Convoy! That set, especially the base/trailer, is what convinced me to try my first toys from Reboot!
It appears the Japanese sites, like Chose Prime, say February and non-domestic, like TF Source and BBTS in states, say March... Not surprised TakaraTomy have it first, either. I don't think they have the same anti- competative concerns.

CORRECTION: HLJ is still saying March, so not all domestic (Japan) are updated, yet...

Shame about the delay, just as well I didn't get to go to Singapore this year then I guess, I would have been really annoyed then.

No idea but I can't see it only being delayed for some retailers and not others.

yeah I'm sure it's across the board too. I just don't want to believe it haha. It was just 8 days away :(  I got both of mine from Anime Export and recently they've been pretty late on shipments compared to the other places anyways. I probably wont get this glorious piece until late March at this rate :(  :(

I don’t mind a bit of a wait, but I’m anxious to get battle convoy. Ready for some excitement to come back into this line again, as the gridman and the anime characters added to the story have sort of dimmed my enthusiasm a bit.

I liked the sort of real science/army feel of the line. adding a super powered hero character, like Gridman, just feels wrong.

Hope we get some other reveals soon, I want to see where the line will go next. Maybe we can see some rescue squads somewhere down the line? I’d like to see a firefighter bot, like Inferno, or some medics.

This just seems like a description of normal Gigantor, I wouldn’t read too much into it. maybe I’m wrong… I guess we’ll see.

My first thought about this was it’s describing the Warudaroids. However…

not sure if “feathers” translated correctly, maybe that’s supposed to be “wings”? In any case, this seems to be saying that Freeson is actually dimensional parasites?!

It would be great to have a better translation of this story, it seems like some meaning is getting lost or distorted through the Google Translate version.

Yeah, that's what's making me hedge on whether I actually want that set. On one hand I adore the added equipment loudout and see lots of potential for adding it to other sets, but on the other hand I just can't get into the whole Gridman thing.

Yep, I mean it definitely looks like a fun product, but I think I’m gonna pass as well depending on how it turns out.

it’s weird, because it shouldn’t really bother me, I guess, but if the company had treated it as a side thing rather than treating it like a normal release, I’d have been a lot more accepting of it.

The lore is sparse (and filtered through bad translation as it is), but adding super hero characters kinda defeats the purpose of the human character’s struggles.

If it follows typical story telling, the humans would likely be ineffective, barely holding their own, with gridman always showing up to save the day. That bugs me a lot for some reason.

I know I can make up my own lore or something, but the official nature of gridman’s addition makes it kinda hard to completely ignore.

But it is its own thing. It doesn’t even use the DA numbering. You can ignore it and not have any gaps in your Diaclone collection.

Having said that, I’m really excited to get this set. It looks like a lot of fun to me.

I ordered my convoy from AJ, still saying I should have it by Mar. 2-5th.However, my order for the Medicom FothNS Kenshiro's ETA passed, and they would give me a new delivery window, still waiting. Hope this isn't also affecting getting the TT Netflix Soundwave too.

I like the Gridman battles and I'm getting it but the other stuff, nah. It feels like the line is going off at a weird tangent, it's done this before with stuff like the model kit suit power ups and sky jacket but they were one offs and it very quickly got back on course.
I'm sure that will happen again soon enough even if they are planning on making a few different products for this crossover.

didn't realize the numbering wasn't the same. That does make a difference. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, google really isn’t very good at translating creative writing. You’re right that feathers should be wings. Also the new(?) baddies are described as parasitic organisms that are eating/absorbing Freeson. (Freeson energy itself is not parasitic.)

The description of Gigantor is indeed very much the same as the one we’ve got already.

Sorry I don’t have time to translate the whole thing but hope this clears up a bit.

Thanks! That does help, especially with the parasite parts. I’ve noticed those kinds of things appear to be translated awkwardly in the other Diaclone story parts too.

I think the Gyroceptor Dart Loader and Skyjacket were all interesting pieces. Gryo and Loader in particular gave us more equipment variety for the Powered Suits which made the suits way more dynamic. Being stuck with only 3 equipment molds for them was IMO one of the more glaring weaknesses of the suits.

Also the initial work they did with those i have to assume, informed the VerseRisers which are excellent additions to the main Trivers bots.
