Well, there are now many people with the actual figure in hand intead of the dumb anti/pro war... and the results don't look good overall. I add my two cents:

IMG_20210216_004419.jpg
IMG_20210216_001301.jpg

I think I got one of the best copies so far in terms of QC:

- Slight warp in the neck piece but it still locks.
IMG_20210216_002802.jpg
- Loose right hand.
- Uneven finish in some pieces.
IMG_20210216_002751.jpg
- Paint overspray and paint chipping.
IMG_20210216_002717.jpg

- No unglued parts.
- Articulation aren't overly stiff.

The good:
- Very expressive figure. Koot is a boring lifeless statue; Locke on the other hand looks alive with minimal posing.
- Great articulation.
- Love the colors in hand.

IMG_20210216_002931.jpg IMG_20210216_004520.jpg IMG_20210216_003034.jpg IMG_20210216_003042.jpg IMG_20210216_003117.jpg

The bad:
- I like posing it but I don't like handling it if that makes sense. Koot is boring as fuck and is the worst balanced figure I have (old timer loves to fall) buuuuuuut in your hand fells great. Locke feels cheap in comparison. Like a KO. Certainly not like what I paid for it.
- Knees are better than in Eligos... But the system is still shit.
- Parts don't fit properly. Areas on the torso, left side to be exact, tent to shift. It's minimal but irritating.
- Don't like the feel of the paint. Feels powdery.
- Ab crunch always feels like it should lock when not used but doesn't. It holds poses perfectly but it's scary thin.
- The inaccurate paint on the chest and unpainted abs is a sin.

To summarize: the figure looks great but it makes me really sad that it was fucked up on the last stretch. If the finish was actually premium and stupid design decisions hadn't been made, the figure would have been a home run... But the reality is it isn't because XTB didn't do a good job. Which pisses me of since I do like the figure.

Note: I haven't transformed it. The alt mode of the character always looked boring. A shame that two figures compromised so much over a shit piece of an alt mode.

So I went to confirm with TFS express about them having my copy ready to send back.

It went from “we’ll send it back to repair” to “we’re contacting XTB for solution”

I think that's because XTB's Facebook post makes reference to replacements too.

I pointed that out to them this morning. I've sent mine back, and said that if I can't be guaranteed a new QC passed figure, I want a refund. But I'm willing to wait a while in case XTB sort it out properly.

I want Locke, just not this version. If my figure was fixed, it'd need almost every piece replaced anyway, so it becomes uneconomic for them.

We'll see..

i just straight up asked for store credit which will either get spent on a better batch of locke or another figure if there's very little improvement

It is, noticed on every copy, but compare to other issues, this is nothing.

I'm hedging my bets, lol.

They mentioned how much if a hit this is for them, and if XTB replace it with a decent copy I'd rather not impact cashflow unnecessarily.

Also, if a v2 is more expensive, well, it's more expensive... if I can get my figure on replacement without adding to the cost, I'll take it!

But, I'm not hanging on for ages either. They said they are discussing with XTB and I'll hear from them within a week. That'll do me.

View attachment 28963956 View attachment 28963957 View attachment 28963958 View attachment 28963959 View attachment 28963960

- Ab crunch always feels like it should lock when not used but doesn't. It holds poses perfectly but it's scary thin.

Nota: no lo he transformado. El modo alternativo del personaje siempre se veía aburrido. Una pena que dos figuras se comprometieran tanto por una mierda de un modo alternativo.

Got it yesterday and those were exactly my thoughts, plus a loose foot that makes it difficult to pose and find balance. Also dislike the powdery paint and overspray, and the colours are a bit too pastel to me. But I like the figure, until I get to transform it eventually. Man, imagine XTB designs made by FT...

Which means "Don't transform it unless you want to suffer."

Mate, can't you disable your autotranslation feature? I'm spanish, but reading it here kind of kills the mood.

This issue isn't discussed enough with many FT figures, and is one of the few areas I think XTB crushes FT. Pleased to see others say it.

I wish FT would make their figure sculpts look less rigid in neutral poses.

Just got mine. Seems to be a very good copy, the legs look good, only a slight warping of the top piece.
I dare not transform it though. Keeping him like this : ) 20210217_175223.jpg 20210217_171245.jpg

I know he has his issues and fingers crossed that they get remedied down the road, but I really don’t like the cigar look. I know it’s from the IDW comics, but it looks like a piece of poop is in his mouth. #DontPoopInKup

Those four versions really do look the most excellent together imo. However, that most if not all of them are effectively un-transformable without some large risk of damage is kinda unfortunate.

I can't wait until this gets a proper release with good QC and painted abs. Until then I'll just pretend it's still in the prerelease phase.

True. For me the most important thing is knowing they can transform but at the same time look as if they walked straight out of the cartoon. But yes, I transformed Hoodlum once and barely managed not to scratch the upper legs. I'm fine keeping them in robotmode forever ; )

So.... I finally got my Locke today.

PXL_20210217_223933888.MP.jpg

I have the slightly warped neck panel issue, floppy left foot, loose hand tabs, the right leg doesn't look like it's over completely as the left leg and after looking closer, I don't see the same indentation on the right leg as I do for the left leg that allows it to slide along it's sliding path.

I haven't transformed it yet as I just brought it in from being outside, I wanna let it reach room temperature first before messing with it.

Hoping everything goes smoothly. He looks the part, I thought he'd look worse right out of the box but so far so good. Does also have the scary tight knee ratchet too. Oh and the nasty waste sprue mark.

Lastly, not sure if it bugs anyone else or not. He doesn't hold his gun straight. When it's pegged in, it points to the side slightly...Grr!! I hate when they can't get that right.

Sorry the photo isn't so clear. Weird, it looks much clearer on my phone than it does on my laptop. Haha.

Question, Out of curiosity. Anyone transformed him with the cygar face on? Does it work, need to be changed. I'm guessing it'll need to be changed but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

Ok, I just went through the transformation on this thing and OH MY GOD!!!!! I'm not excited to even own this figure anymore. Haha! I should've just left him in bot mode. I had two pieces fall apart on me. One being the known piece that falls off that we were told to glue on and the second is one of the small blue pieces that sit beside the head when he's in his alt mode. It was broke and came right off as I moved it, you can see the split in the plastic. I'm overly frustrated with the bottom half. One of my legs will not tab shut correctly. I've opened it and looked at it 3 different times and didn't see anything being incorrect or wrong. When trying to complete the figure and dealing with the bed section is overly frustrating due to the fact the damn pegs that are supposed to connect into the side of the legs WILL NOT PEG IN AT ALL and that connect is a big part of what helps keep the rear end solid. I can't get the rest of it to solidify because of those pegs. I shouldn't have to cut/shave/glue/apply heat to unwarp figures! I do believe once I cool down I will be reaching out to TFS-Express as I'm certainly not happy with this figure at all. Piece of shit! LOL If they would have used stronger plastics in some areas and just did a better job in general, I might feel differently but this has just been a stressful transformation and I'm about over it for the night. This is probably the worse figure I've ever had the pleasure of buying from X-Transbots.
