This is my interpretation of Power master Optimus prime from the Marvel comics. Version 1.0 He is 3D printed and fully transformable with no parts forming. Because of his robot mode look in the comic i had to make a new alt mode. I will be making a detailed video and i have some planned upgrades for the future.

I will probably by putting this one for auction with the gray prototype and some alternative parts at some point.

I will probably be selling the STL files to this figure as well at some point.
You can buy the STL files and some of my other figures figures in my etsy store https://www.etsy.com/shop/Printformers

I would be interested in trying to print one of these out but (what will probably cost around) $50 for STLs alone is insane. There's no guarantee you will end up with a functional finished product - not throwing that kind of money away on a gamble. That's more or less half the price of buying a factory made figure.

Thank you for the response :)

MegaMoonMan I am not sure what do you mean by a gamble. All of my files are tested and are confirmed to work. I have multiple people print my other models with success and I provide updates with new accessories and some improvements to all the buyers. I would also prefer to buy a factory made Marvel comic based models but i got tired by waiting for them to make some. As of now the 3D printed models are the only option. I would like to give them away for free but designing and printing takes a lot of time and material cost and unfortunately I have no other way to gather funds for future projects.

Nobody is asking for them for free, but asking half the price of a factory made 3rd party figure of the same size is insanity. I will never pay that much for any STLs and I'm sure there are many others who feel the same. You may have designed it, but others still have to put in the days worth of hours and filament to actually make it - and yes, gamble that their printer will actually pull it off.

Sweet spot for whole figure STLs seems to be $10 - $15. You'll sell magnitudes more. Sell 3 for $50 or 15 for $10, you'll still get paid the same. It all depends on how widespread you want your work to be. Sell a couple or sell a hundred, it's up to you.

Thank you for clarifying. I guess we all value our time and work in a different way. I personally buy stl files to show support for the designer but also to see how someone solved some king of a design puzzle. I see value in the files themselves as opposed to the printed object alone. In the pack there is also a full 3d model included that can be rigged for animation and I send frequent updates. I test the files in various ways so I do not see any reason for them not to work other than user error.

Could you show me an example of of a file that did not work on your printer so i may better understand the problem that may occur?

I don't have a specific example. The point is when you have hundreds of different printers and slicer combinations file errors happen. They are rare but they do happen. Some software just doesnt like to slice certain STLs properly and you wont know until you try.

I know what you mean. That is caused by bad models and not properly cleaning and preparing them. Sadly it's a plague in the STL world. I can assure you that my models will work. I can send you some samples if you like.

I’d buy one in a heart beat but I can’t 3dp or afford the cost of files and or printing.

This looks really cool. I like the more compact alt mode and the Wildman style bot mode. Probably my favorite form of optimus.

Alright. I took the plunge and bought the 3pack of files for FortMax, Optimus, and Skorponok. $56 for all three seemed reasonable enough. Now to convince my friend to let me use his 3d printer.

If I were to buy and print one, what printer/plastic types would you recommend?

    Think it looks very good.

I am just wondering how do you assemble the toy.
Are there assemble Paper or video instructions.
Does the buyer of this need to go a store and buy tiny toy screwed. Buy Tiny metal pins. Buy any inner toy springs.

There are images and a video instruction. Some parts in the video have been updated(the trunk) but for the most part the process is similar.
