How long can that really last though? I mean... I think Power Rangers was their highest selling toy line. Digimon is pretty popular as well but hasn't been around as long and it's popularity seems a bit inconsistent... I mean to begin with the first Digimon toy to be released in the U.S. is something most people don't even know exists and even if they do know about it they probably wouldn't connect with the franchise since it was released before the first Anime. The original Digimon Adventures Anime still has a huge following but every series after 02 ended has had various amounts of success depending on the season... It's also no where near as popular as Pok'emon despite in my opinion having better story lines, better character designs, and actually changing out the main character rather than being stuck with the same kid who hasn't grown up for 20 years. I personally use to like both back in the day but my interest in Pok'emon ended after gen 3. I started to lose interest in Digimon around the same time but never really did completely... the only season I outright hated... Damion... That should be the best season... it's the only one where they got rid of the stupid googles for the main character... but despite not wearing the googles for no reason... they made him even dumber than all the main characters. His main strategy for fights... instead of sending his Digimon into battle like a smart person would do... is he runs up to the Digimon 100 times his size and punches them... HE PUNCHES THEM... Like that's going to do anything!!! I don't know how this idiot didn't die when he constantly runs up to Digimon and punches them. All the other kids know that when you see a giant scary thing that can kill you to RUN THE HELL AWAY FROM IT or send in a Digimon to fight it. No one else in the history of Digimon is dumb enough to run TOWARDS the danger and try to punch it with his bare fist. Gawd I hate that season. I hate it more than Tri... and Tri for some reason is mostly just the original kids for some reason going through the exact same character development they already went through back in the original series but with a lot less Digimon action.

Anyway... side rant aside... I'm not sure what other toy lines they have that are even relevant anymore besides those two. And one of them is gone so... yeah... Digimon does a lot of stuff better than Pok'emon (my opinion only) but Pok'emon is still more popular for some reason so I'm not sure how Bandai can do with their most popular brand now being what most people think of as a Pok'emon knock off.

What's interesting about Hasbro owning Power Rangers is they probably can't work with Takara on it because in Japan that license is owned by Bandai.

So when we see these new Zords, that's all Warden and his team.

*Ectotron crouches through museum entrance, PKE meter instantly starts blaring*
*Ectotron glancing around noticing odd purple T-Rex skeleton displayed in the lobby*
"Heh didn't know dinosaur skeletons could turn such hues."
    *Leans closer towards skeleton*
*Skeleton suddenly turns and faces Ectorton*
    OOGAH BOOGAH BLAHGHAIGHAHOGIAH!!!
*Ectotron turns tail, transforms, and smashes through the front doors of the museum down the massive steps and with rubber screeching on asphalt hi tails it downtown."

"BOO YAH, DIS MAH HOUSE SUCKERS!!"
*pan away from Paleotrex doing victory dance in robot mode to bewildered security guard and the museum curator*
Museum curator: "Call the Transformers you said, they'll be able to handle something this large you said, knew we should have called the Ghostbusters. *storms off down the hall towards the Neanderthal exibit* THAT DAMAGE IS COMING OUT OF YOUR SALARY LEROY!"
Leroy *gawking*: I knew I should have retired last year. Damn 2020............

*Paleotrex now proceeding to dance through the lobby as skeleton dino*

But what if he was released in Apelinq colors?

Never say never. Said the exact same thing about TR Full Tilt, people still listed him seperate. Just have to be diligent and quick with the payment.

Man, with the better images, you can definitely tell that they highlighted the detail. This just goes to show that, when it comes to detail, Hasbro and TakaraTomy aren't slouching.

HasTak might make sacrifices when is comes to paint apps and accessories but the level of detail and smart engineering has really gone up a lot.

Yeah. But looking at the white/silver paint on the forehead of non-skull Purple Paleotrex (which I will call "Crystallux" from that fake pamphlet), I need some confirmation. For someone who has regular Paleotrex, is that actually molded in? If so, that is excellent attention to detail. When looking at that molded detail painted to make it POP, it screams "Knight in Armor". Meanwhile, the added white/silver paint to the teeth for both the T-Rex and the Skull Mace, the fading paint on the shoulders, and the horns of the chestplate painted up all really POP on the Amethyst colored Crystalline bones. Meanwhile, the opening of the skull facemask completes the top of the T-Rex skull a bit more.

Also, looking at Rusticon again, I am personally surprised on just how much like Rusty Metal the painted plastic looks.

Seriously, this just goes to show that, with the right amount of paint applications, plastic can look like pretty much ANY material. Say what you will about "Rusticon's" paint looking so cruddy, that look is beautiful because it shows how paint can turn a good figure into a great figure. The paint is what is great about this figure. And the attention to detail doesn't stop there. The darker sections have a similar texture, just are darker. Meanwhile, the lighter sections are rusted differently. If you notice, the parts which are given the major rustjob are the pieces which would be exposed in vehicle mode. It's almost as if "Rusticon" was stuck in vehicle mode and never transformed into robot mode for a while. In fact, the paint is so good that it's almost like I can feel the slightly rough, rusty material in my hands.

I'm not gonna quote the entire thing, but aside from PR in the US, Bandai has Dragon Ball, Digimon, Tamagotchi and other stuff made by Bandai Japan to be distributed stateside. As long as Bandai Japan and the USA exist, Bandai of America will stay. And Bandai, being the largest toy company in Japan, isn't going away anytime soon.

I remember that line, I had Dino Tricera, Gigano Dragon, Dino Mammoth and Dino Saber.

Despite having a striking design, the transformation engineering was very simple, most of them used the kibble on the back as "wings", the dino's head was always the chest, and others left the tail in sight; I know Beast Wars did that too, but not as often as Dinozaurs.

The most ridiculous for me was Dino Tricera, he was pure dino head with arms and legs.

The most decent one was Gigano Dragon, due to his original and serpentine design (although he had no knees).

Wasn't aware they had Dragon Ball. I don't pay attention to that one. I already went on a rant about Digimon in my last post. Tamagotchi doesn't really exist anymore. That was part of the predecessor to Digimon. And it's kind of made a come back in recent years but as a free cell phone app, the little devices that Bandai actually made back in the 90's aren't a thing anymore. (Except for the Digivice toys which they do still make.)

Pretty sure the largest toy company in Japan is Takara... so... without a big huge brand to keep sales up I don't really expect Bandai to stick around much longer.

And I don't know why you keep separating Bandai of Japan and Bandai of America... it makes sense to do that when talking about specific figures and/or toy lines because the toys released in each country are often very different molds, likely because American toy safety laws are much more strict than in Japan. But when we're talking about Bandai as a company it's all the same thing. We're talking about Bandai as a WHOLE not specifically Bandai of America.

    Yeah.
But, one thing I really want to see is BandaiNamco, TakaraTomy, Toei Company, and Hasbro all work together to create a special line of Transformers X Super Sentai toys. I say that this collaboration should start with BandaiNamco, TakaraTomy, and Hasbro working on the GoBots together. Since Hasbro owns the rights to the characters due to the purchase of Tonka but they don't own the molds, Hasbro working with BandaiNamco would be a good start. It's relatively low risk and relatively high reward. Transformers X Super Sentai is much higher risk. So, Transformers X GoBots would be a better start. Then, if Transformers X GoBots succeeds, then Transformers X Gundam could be a great next step. Imagine Transfomers-based Gundams and Gundam-Based Transformers. Medium risk and Semi-High Reward. Then, Hasbro and TakaraTomy could work with BandaiNamco and Toei to at least design Kamen Rider-based Transformers. As soon as they see how Transformers could work with Tokusatsu, Transformers X Super Sentai could be the final step. It's best to start with lower risk decisions.
Harmony Gold, Studio Nue, and Big West Frontier are the three owners of the rights to Macross.

Leaker Phamduc said that the Netflix figure is not Packrat and is an actual repaint of Rattrap. The only difference with the Netflix Rattrap is dark color fur, dark silver - no extra accessories, no extra paint apps.

    1. You wouldn't need all those companies to do that. Super Sentai is what Power Rangers is in Japan, Hasbro already has that so that could do that all on their own.

    2. HELL NO!!! I know some of the Megazords kind of already look like Transformers already and there's Transformers that have been compared to Megazords (Energon Optimus Prime) but I don't want Power Ranger anywhere freaking near Transformers.

I'm going to be honest with you here. Donald was the host of the system before me, he was into Power Rangers... more than into it... he completely lost touch with reality and thought he was a Power Ranger. Oddly enough there kids in my school who vaguely resembled some of the characters in the show. A girl who looks like Scorpina in her human form, even having the same name, two bullies who looked like Bulk and Skull who did something to him I have no memory of but he can still have flash backs to so trauma involving them. Around 6th grade I split off, almost the same as him except freaking hating that show. As far as I knew at the time I had snapped to my senses and wanted to be as far away from that fantasy I was living in as possible. Years later after being diagnosed we realized that Donald was actually a separate identity who use to be host but went dormant because we were too old to continue blending in as a "normal" person with him as the host, we needed a new host, one who could cope in the real world and thus I was split off not knowing I was an alter. So yeah... I have a deep seeded hatred of Power Rangers so I really never want to see that crossover... EVER!!! I don't know what the actual trauma was that triggered this but even if I did, if you're not my therapist it's non of your buisness... All I know is I hate this show with a passion.

It isn't, for whatever that's worth. Bandai has Gundam and every toy and hobby store I've been in over in Japan has a massive (sometimes wall-to-wall or multi-floor) Gundam section, to the point where other lines like of big ole robots like Transformers, Shinkalion, Super Sentai, etc. were relegated to much smaller areas of some of the stores.

The rumors which started with the 1st mention of purple paleotrex all say him + siege Megatron + accessory (heavily implied to be Allspark able to attach to a modified chest on Megatron. )

    $20 rex + $30 Megatron =$50, plus a "free" accessory

I’m really hoping that Megatron’s gimmick is well done and a key moment in the Netflix series. Would make it much easier to sell off since I only want Crystalux. :)

I had zero interest in normal Paleotrex. But clear purple Paleotrex? I need 2.

Bandai is by far the largest toy company in Japan. Gundam is the biggest property in Japan...by a large margin. Bandai America is run as a completely separate company than Bandai proper.
