Everytime someones post granny or saggy chest about 51, I'm always reminded of 40-year old virgin, the poker scene
I guess the problem has always been with doing a G1 Arcee toy is that she was originally a none toy character so when designing her they didn’t have to think practically so they made her a bit of an action master who wears her alt mode on her back which when you actually have to make that backpack cover her as a shell it will invariably becomes too big as a backpack. as you should expect from a masterpiece line this probably does the best to overcome these practical difficulties with the original design.
She did have a toy in the concept stages to be released around the same time as the others, but it was probably cancelled because "boys don't buy pink/girl toys". But yes, a completely clean, G1 animation-accurate Arcee is completely impossible.
Great photos @Tony_Bacala! Looks like you kept Arcee's face in the rear slot even when you weren't using the visor. There's another slot to tab her faces into that makes them sit flush with the helmet.
Downbeat has pretty stable feet and Arcee is mostly balanced on his chest with his arms stabilizing her. The proper Dirty Dancing pose would've had him holding her aloft with his arms fully stretched upward but his articulation plus his large car hood chest wouldn't allow that.
owner of both and let me chime in on this debate on who is more accurate to G1 Arcee. I’d say both are just as accurate to the show, why? Animation inconsistency. G1 is known for its inconsistent animation and character models. You will have scenes where Arcee is as tall and slender as Rouge and Scenes where she is shorter and more curvy. Ultimately it’s up to you who you find more appealing and accurate. Neither are inaccurate though, digging through G1 scenes to see who is more accurate won’t get you anywhere. On the topic of who is a better figure. I’d say both are great. I like Rouge due to the quality of materials (MY MP51’s neck peg broke the second day). Rouge is a heavier figure with better feeling plastic and more die-cast. While lots of people hate Rouge’s transformation I actually enjoy it. MP51 has more articulation and the transformation is much simpler than Rouge. She’s fun to pose around and take photos with although it’s a bit difficult to get her to stand in certain poses. Who do I prefer all around? Rouge. I enjoy her cleaner backpack and how she looks on a shelf.
This is why we are in the golden age. You get an awesome representation that you like, and I get an awesome representation that I like!
Except for that neck to bust transition the rest of her really is great. Isn\'t/wasn\'t there an add-on kit project to fix that?
I definitely like both for different reasons! I think a magic blend of the two would be ideal in my eyes! Currently, I prefer the MP for alt mode for sure, but I debate between the two for robot. I like the height of Rouge with the other FT Movie bots... luckily, I have an alt mode display for my duplicates, so both have a home!
Never seen that movie. But ive seen saggies more than once in real life and they aint pretty. Its one thing to put your beer goggles on after a party, but its not something you want to remember when you sober up. The push up bra is a feat of engineering on par with the Hoover Dam.
You’re missing out on 90% of what the rest of us are gushing over if you never transform MP51. It’s like owning a box of donuts but haven’t opened it yet.
