Yeah, I'm all for the Beast Wars characters being integrated alongside the regular automobile Transformers. That approach makes more sense from a cinematic perspective than confining everything to the prehistoric era. Like, it would give them the opportunity to do a team-up movie where the Maximals and Predacons meet the Autobots and Decepticons.

I've always said my ideal Transformers story should have Transformers that turn into a little bit of everything, with a wide range of alt-modes and sizes and whatnot. Sticking to one theme is a bit boring to me. Transformers aren't "robots that turn into cars" or "robots that turn into beasts"....they're "robots that turn into anything they want". I like it when the fiction reflects that. The idea of a Transformers movie that has a lot of diversity in types of robot is very appealing to me.

 

I'd assume Maximals+Autobots Vs Predacons+ Decepticons.

 

AmI the only one who hates it when Beast Wars characters are shoved into normal present day stories? Like, it kind of seems to be missing what made Beast Wars special. If the transformers are going to be robotic animals instead of organic, exist in the present day, and be just subgroups of Autobots and Decepticons or just straight up are Autobots and Decepticons, then there's no point in making it Beast Wars. The constant mashing of BW characters into G1 seems pointless, especially when we already have G1 animal characters. Trying to make Beast Wars just be a tiny part of modern day G1 just strips BW of its own identity.

 

Yeah Beast Wars sounds better.

 

For the love of everything that is Transformers!!!!!! Please just make an amazingly on point G1 live action movie! Just start over from the very beginning (from scratch), and give use a live action G1 Season 1 story, with G1 Characters, that actually look like live action versions of G1 characters, with correct G1 robot & Altmode designs, and colors!
And all y'all Beast Wars fans know good and well that if they try and make a BW type movie right now...they are going to fuck it up big time! And you will not recognize any of the characters, they will look something like animals "transforming" (at least that's what they will try and call it) into walking indiscernible garbage! Not the story or the characters will be familiar, but they will be sure to give the walking garbage they come up with orginal Beast wars names! And it's going to piss OG Beast Wars fans all the way off!
But at the end of the day I'm just going to say screw Paramount Studios! Hasbro should just get Disney to make the G1 live action movie, at least Disney knows how to copy and paste!

Are you serious? How stupid can you possibly be? Most of this fandom is sick and tired of G1, that's why everyone loves kingdom so much. Making a straight-up G1 film would probably kill the franchise for a lot of people. No one cares about G1 anymore outside of using it for basic inspiration. You advocate for copy and pasting only because you can't understand how much love and care are put into making movies. You can't fathom the idea of someone having an original thought because you are so stuck in the fucking 80's it's embarrassing. Not only this, but it seems like you are claiming to be on the side of Beast Wars fans by saying that they will surely fuck it up. There is no evidence to suggest that they will. Bumblebee serves as a reset and the love and care put into that film should serve as a very good indication of how this franchise wants to handle its movies going forward. Nothing will please everyone and you are prime evidence of that. IF you want a G1 story go back and rewatch season 1 you fucking troglodyte. The true walking garbage to come out of this franchise is you.

 

So I guess this is just a thing people are gonna keep doing then, huh. But do please tell us more about how you know what 'most of the fandom' think.

It might be too early to make that call yet. People liked Bumblebee because it had likable characters, a followable storyline, and harkened back to retro Transformers in a nostalgic way. This could easily do the same thing, but with Beast Wars instead of G1. Even if they change up the premise, it could still get the characters and nostalgia and whatnot right. The important thing isn't making a 1:1 recreation of the show...even Bumblebee didn't come anywhere close to doing that with G1...the important thing is simply making a good movie. Despite the seemingly wonky premise, I can still see this being great. Let's not forget Bumblebee sounded a bit weird at first, but that ended up working very well.

 

Rather than taking this as an opportunity to engage in this petty tribalism instead I wish to extend an olive branch to those who liked the Bay movies a lot and are perhaps not happy or even upset that it's over: I get it, it sucks when something you devoted a lot of time to and something you liked a lot comes to an end, growing up I had a nasty habit of getting really into series that weren't 'long for this Earth' in a sense.  

The movies will always be there, as will the toys, games, etc. It'll always have a place here, you will always have a place here, just try not to feel too resentful towards others. I know how sappy and wishy washy this sounds, but at the end of the day I wish to think we all just want what we think is best for TF because we want it to stick around for a long time.

So, I get it. Even if we disagree on a lot, I get that feeling and it's not invalid. But try not to give up or lose hope on the future of the films, and also try not to be so combative with other fans or view them as your enemies.

Besides, it seems there's still quite a bit of Studio Series left, so there's also THAT to look forward to.

It's a bit weird to me that after 6 movies that take loose inspiration from G1 (and I do count Bumblebee among those), people suddenly expect this movie to be a faithful adaption of Beast Wars. A story and setting that's harder to translate into a movie than G1 was. I've been saying for a while that it will probably be about as faithful to Beast Wars as the '07 movie was to G1. Changing up the premise shouldn't be unexpected.

This movie series has never been about faithfully recreating stuff from the cartoons. Heck, this brand overall isn't about that. The storytellers of Transformers have always taken inspiration from past incarnations and used that inspiration to craft something new. That's part of the reason this brand is so exciting, at least to me. Heck, we wouldn't have gotten the original Beast Wars if the creators of that show had taken the same creative approach people are expecting these filmmakers to take. They would have just recreated G1 in CGI instead.

I don't think people should consider this a Beast Wars adaptation as much as a new incarnation of Transformers that takes inspiration from Beast Wars. As of now, it's Beast Alliance, not Beast Wars. I totally get the desire to see what you love on the big screen, but I encourage people to open their minds to the possibility that this movie could be just as good as Beast Wars, just in a different way. Just think back to when people said stuff like "Optimus can NEVER be a monkey" in the '90s. If Optimus can be changed from a truck to an ape, why can't Beast Wars be changed from prehistoric times to modern day?
