when come to FT Rouge vs MP51, both have good and bad points.. rouge is actually a transformer and they done a really good job in the backpack department, but because of it, the proportion and articulation is impacted to make sure everything fit properly in both robot and alt mode. MP51 on the other hand is basically a really well design shellformer, just like pretty much most generation one Arcee figure that either hasbro or takara release, the transformation is about compacting the car into backpack.. but because of that, the proportion and articulation is amazing because the robot and alt mode is basically 2 separate thing. so basically it's all come down to what you like.. Rouge give you an Arcee that is similar to cartoon version, down to her backpack while MP51 Arcee give an Arcee that is also similar to the cartoon except with a bulkier backpack and replayability.
Thank you! Thank you! The problem wish Shapeways is it's so expensive and they charge by the piece as well as the printing volume. I could make all the faces separately purchasable but it'd cost an arm and a leg, or I could put them all on a sprue tree but it'd still be expensive, not everybody is going to want all the faces and variants, and I'd have to purchase it before Shapeways let me make it available to anybody else. I dont know about BBTS, but I got mine from amiami.com which arrive in december. Transformers Masterpiece MP-51 Arcee(Released) they still have stock if you dont want to wait for BBTS... but shipping is going to be expensive since it's direct from japan.
Transforming this thing is a pleasure. Shell former or not, it is so easy yet intuitive. Once you master the windshield you kinda feel like Elon Musk. Really neat little MP moment there as insignificant as it may sound.
Going to guess probably getting theirs from Hasbro since Pulse sent out two e-mails saying they had delays. First e-mail said delayed till March 1. Second e-mail said delayed till February 25.

The backpack's definitely noticeable but on the whole I like how this looks. It definitely looks better than the stock photos made it out to be. At some point I'll be picking one up and/or the potential Paradron Medic repaint cuz that's always a thing.
That boxicle on her chest is just too distracting to for me. Otherwise the rest of the figure is good....not $150 good though.
The backpack in unavoidable to get a perfect alt-mode for Arcee, but she's still too stylized for me, and not in an interesting or good way, as Arcee is one of the designs I like from the G1 series. So Azalea is still the MP Arcee for me, but good on for those who like her.

I've had mine for a while now but it's still in car mode, I should transform her. I think she probably has the best car mode out of any of them, edging out FT's. I like how light she is too. From the look of it the transformation is pretty much exactly the original Legends Arcee with a bit of extra stuff added to manage the backpack. If it ain't broke don't fix it I guess. I'll know for sure once I transform her, but based on what I've seen the biggest problems are the weird chest (just why?) and the head, which isn't bad but they went for the narrower look with the angled "hair buns" (like XTB Leia) instead of the rounder look with straight sides that FT has. MMC is like a midpoint between the two interpretations. The head is subjective I suppose, maybe some people prefer the skinny face look to the rounder one. Unfortunately the chest is just plain bad. FT's definitely wins in that department (and I don't mean because of that third party mod...), second place being XTB (if you consider that figure to even be in the running considering its shortcomings) and third MMC which is adequate but boxy. Poor MP-51 looks like she's experiencing grandma droop... Will have to report back once I transform her and see it in hand though. At the moment, FT's robot mode is the winner overall for my money. I can see the appeal of MMC too, but she's too small, and if you ask me FT just looks nicer side by side - more premium finish, sleeker robot mode design and a nicer head. Everyone hates FT's transformation, but frankly what it accomplishes is black magic and as scary as some parts are it's kind of worth it. XTB's offering... well we all know what happened there. So that's my top three, I doubt MP-51 will take FT's place, and XTB will surely still be on the bottom, interesting comparison will be to MMC I think.
