My Amazon Primal Swords, 1 looks White, while the other looks more metallic light silver, and at the base where the paint stops there's a bit of White Primer. I don't thinks it's a variant, they just ran out of Metallic for the second layer.
Bone white is more tinted yellow or brown, not gray. What I have is a pale silver. bone white - Google Search
I'm back with a picture, but my phone sucks, but this is where they missed silver and white shows through. My other Sword has no Metallic, But they are so similar, I didn't notice the lack of shine on one.
It's seeming less & less likely that there are 2 variants & more likely that it's a widespread QC issue, especially with more than one person reporting 2 different colored swords in a box. Maybe they ran out of paint? Maybe someone fell asleep?
Still own an aoe slug with both variants of horns so having one of each isnt that weird or out of the question
But going by what's been posted in this thread we've got at least 3 versions: shiny gray, dull gray, & offwhite. I seriously doubt they would do 3 passes of paint on an accessory, it's actually kinda surprising that they would do 2 passes but there's evidence to support it: one pass in white then another in gray. & that right there is probably where the break down happened. The swords that are a more dull gray probably didn't get the first pass of white & the swords that are white probably didnt get the second pass of gray. We'll never know for certain but with more data we can speculate further
something else I've noticed and I don't think it directly connects to the colour of the blades is the range in quality when it comes to masking the area between the sword and hilt/handle. On mine it's neat but not great as it gets noticeably thinner lower down but I'm seeing a few here that look really bad and splotchy.
02821 (or 02871. the red number looks like a 2 but isn't fully there) and I got a grey-ish color sword. Almost looks pearlescent in my house's lighting.
Get this, just checked my Primal and he has the serial for the white swords, but his swords are silver. Think this might be a qc error after all, not any different than the *whole missing parts* on some releases...
