While I have nothing against the actress, it's a shame they decided not to stick closer to this version of Grace. She's about the only superhero character that was a Asian female that also did the tall muscular powerhouse role that Big Barda and She-Hulk usually do.
They could never do that. The rights are so balcanized they cold never make Grace an Amazon-lite like her comic version.
Had the chance to catch up on the show over the weekend thanks to Netflix. its' easily my favorite CWVerse show after Flash. Solid cast & great action with a really nice soundtrack. Actually reminds me a lot of "Luke Cage." Unfortunately it also makes a lot of the same mistakes as "Luke Cage." Some of the story arcs are just too convoluted; we don't need an endlessly-turning conspiracy powering the season. Plus they keep killing off characters right when they start to get interesting (ditching Lady Eve so early in the first season still strikes me as extremely odd). (also was REALLY surprised to see Billy Cranston as a recurring villain in season 2. )
I was afraid from the second season finale that they'd make Odell too chummy with the Pierce family when he mentioned the Markovians are a common threat. I'm glad that wasn't the case, but the way they handled the time skip was way too baffling. I guess I now know the whiplash Young Justice fans felt after the second season started. I would've been happy if they made her big and strong, at least. She didn't have to be strictly an Amazon, but I'm not a fan of the shapeshifter stuff.
Well the actress they hired for Grace is 5'10" and not a gangly stick. Realistically as big as your gonna get without making her a series regular.
Is she, though? Chantel Thuy is listed at 5'7". I missed the first episode of the new season, but so far, I'm not liking Jefferson's new suit.
Amazons. I keep seeing 1.7 metres, if she's exactly that then it's 5'7." If not then more's play. It hasn't been seen yet. And episode 3 got preempted for football.

It premiered in episode 3, and I personally like it. More sleek and less cumbersome. Too bad Odell probably planted all sorts of ASA tracking technology.
I had no idea either. Sticking to the source material would have made more sense and opened up the possibility to bring in the Amazons or even the Outsiders, which would have been cool. Instead, they made her a mysterious shape shifter with an old man martial arts persona, which confused everyone... then, she vanished without a trace and the writers seemingly dropped the storyline. Maybe that's for the best.
Yeah I don't know where they're going with Grace. So she's really a man? And Thunder will still love him/her? Oh well, I can't care for the relationships outside the star characters (can't really expect much from Legends since it's a team show). It just drags the shows.
The only problem with Black Lightning is that despite the main bad guy retreating to his hometown of Gotham because they film in Atlanta I doubt we will get any Batwoman representation.

I'm game. I know this means this series will be significantly shorter than the other CW DC shows, but I personally think it has more consistent quality, and I'd rather see it reach a natural conclusion instead of dragging it out. Though I guess it makes its merging to the other show's continuity to be pointless, especially since they canned the few crossovers they planned for it.

The Pierce family and the people of Freeland can't catch a break. No wonder this season is the final one. - There just had to be a scene in the beginning where an innocent black teen is singled out and harassed by two white officers. Glad Jeff zapped the taste out of those two pigs and their car. - Gambi has a love interest? Hope that goes well for him. - Why does the new Chief of Police have to be such a b****? Not only does she unfairly blame metas for Henderson's death, she wants to document and tag them like dogs? F*** HER!!! - Tobias is back and LaLa runs the 100. Maybe they'll do the Pierce family a solid and kill each other so that they don't have to. - Lynn wore a face mask to use metapowers she's injected herself with? An allusion to the COVID-19 pandemic? - Did Gambi remodel the bunker underneath his shop or did he move to a larger space?
I was not expecting Jefferson to get that grim like that. Man. I realized there's a lot of plotlines to wrap up. I hope they got the notice before starting production. Otherwise, they won't resolve everything.
Soooo in the most recent Black Lightning episode La La got Han Solo'd lol, Guess that was the only way to take out someone that wouldn't stay dead.
