It is the year 5000. Someone comments that Unicron isn't big enough and that they're glad they didn't buy it.

You would probably need to remove one or both of the pins to fully separate the maw part from the other panels unfortunately. I'm not sure what the extra screws are there for except for maybe added durability.

It's really noticeable in hand just how much bigger and more dense Unicron is than any of the titans. That picture really doesn't do it justice at conveying it.

Hey, I meant to get back to you about this earlier.

I looked for Sam's Forge on Google and came across some photos of Microplex.
Looks really nifty! Especially because of the cross-compatibility with Modulator bases.

Do you know if Sam's Forge have some kind of a shopfront anywhere?
This forum is as close as I ever get to social media, so I can't hit them up on Facebook or Instagram.

Feel free to PM me, if you'd like. :thumb

They definitely could have painted it. They did it with Unicron's head. And added in orange gears.

Oh yeah, I'm fully aware that height is only one dimension. He's like, twice as deep as Metroplex/Fort Max, and due to all the panel origami, he's got parts that are like, 6 layers deep, as opposed to the Titans who are single-layered and as hollow as they can possibly be. Unicron's a big mamma-jamma.

While I can appreciate the desire for screen-accuracy, I've gotten used to the bulk the plates add to his physique. Gives him a bit of that hulking shape, ala The Hulk or Juggernaut, and just adds to his imposing presence.

Not offended. Just grew to be a Bit extra defensive because of the cancel culture mobs. And MP-Bumblebee may clean up impressively, but I wish the back was better to look at, and I wish it didn’t negate the waist swivel. I’m also on the Autism spectrum, so I tend to not pick up on jokes until it’s too late. Sorry for the spazz out

Yeah, it seems weird to think it was a budget cut, it seems more likely the maw and teeth on the head were left unpainted because of paint rubbing off the tests they made.

That stinks. The long pin at the top looks kinda doable, the lower one looks impossible to get to. Looks like it would need to be a whole new back shell piece. Can you show a photo of how small you can get these pieces by just removing screws or tabs to ultimately replace the piece that needs to be painted? Thank you again for all the work you are doing for the community.

As someone who actually has Unicron in hand has said in here, the teeth don’t rub on that part at all. There’s not rubbing. They just cheaped out.

Ok, so the two screws actually hold a plastic cover over that connecting part, which is removable and gives easy access to the smaller of the two pins. That looks like the only pin that you would need to push out in order to fully separate the maw piece that needs to be replaced/repainted. It looks doable, with the right tools.

fair warning guys...o_O  hasbro loves to use pins that have an extremely long knurl on their newer titans. when i knocked the legs out of my scorps i had to find this out the hard way. it sucked when they were not running in the same direction. but that is a lessoned learned.

if anyone here is going to attempt this. start on the end that isn't sitting flush as this is usually the end of the pin. if these are knurled that end will most likely be on the side that sits flush.

Why even try to take the pins out.

Just mask off the front of the disassembled maw and hit it with the air brush.

Thanks again to Monari for his willingness to experiment with Unicron for our sake. It looks like no solution for the blue maw is feasible to me (I don't like stickers, I'm unable to paint it, a separate upgrade kit would probably cost quite a bit and would require handling pins) so I'll have to live with it. Which luckily isn't a great problem because as I said in previous posts I'm not bothered THAT much about the issue. Still, I wish Hasbro had been more upfront about the changes made in the final deco. While I understand that the development process of a figure is complex and tweaks are to be expected, this is a special case where we were asked to pay the product upfront with no cancellation allowed, so I don't think it's unfair for us to expect more from Hasbro too.

    Legend!

It's as I speculated earlier in the thread then, the teeth are inserted into a single piece. More awkward for us, but inexcusable for Hasbro to not have an appropriate metal guard for spraying it.

I'll hang on as long as I can before doing this myself, once some clever person finds a colour match. Just in case a 3P comes to save us. I'd rather swap parts than permanently change a limited release item.
