We could just be at each other's throats like the haslab unicron thread, if that would make you feel better.

Its totally understandable if people anticipate the skeleton to transform, but into what? Maybe a battle station. FT Motormaster already comes with the trailer. I don't mind if it does not transform if it means a more solid combined figure. I am not all against it transforming, but if you give me the choice I prefer it doesn't. I guess there is no right or wrong in this matter, I just hope they do a good job for their first finished combiner.

Since the trailer is the friends we made along the way, then yeah finding a hobby makes sense.

    Friends != hobby.

    I don't want a non transforming "skeleton".
There shouldn't even be a "skeleton" but rather the robots robot or alt mode parts either coming apart and adding back, or transforming completely without any parts forming.
You can have your own preferences, but these are mine. The closer to being all built-in, the closer it is to the real thing if these robots were real. Also, I don't want to have to go into a storage place just to switch between modes. It is already a semi hassle when the transformations are super complex/non-intuitive. Adding an element of me fishing through a parts container and it is a deviation further away from the fun that comes from losing myself in the fantasy.
I of course want some good stability, but I can deal with a little less if it means all parts integration. I firmly believe that "pants" or a "skeleton" that does nothing else isn't a significant contributor to increased stability anyway. It is simply about the strength of joints across the board to manage the weight, which ideally is distributed well as well.

Menasor is really the only combiner where the all in one is the least practical in toy form.

It's literally impossible to have a fully functioning and stable Menasor that does not use an additional trailer and doesnt sacrifice the cartoon aesthetic.

So out of curiosity, when you put your stunticons in vehicle mode, will you display Roadking with the second trailer? Also, what will you do with the second trailer when you have the stunticons in their individual bot modes?

I mean, it's not that far removed from what Zeta did with Superior and Bruticus, yeah? I'd rather a well-built, solid torso than anything that transforms into a mode I'm never gonna use.

    1. Yes, but I dont have room for a big display like that, so it will be mainly for me to have fun with before putting back into combined mode a few days later.

    2. The trailer would be there as a makeshift base or HQ, or bare minimum, a strong piece of cover from fire. My imagination can take over from there since it still at least looks like a real thing and not just an obvious pair of thighs for example.

Fair enough opinion. I agree itd be nice if they were all like that, but for Menasor, and to be this size, and cartoon accurate aesthetics, its not really possible. The other one thats coming out, forgot the name, that combines like that (guess still needs feet, fists and head - can't remember) sounds up your street - you getting that one?

For me XTB gets a pass as it's still the five vehicles - semi and four cars - that combine into Menasor without needing extra parts. DX9 also, except I personally don't like the scale of their cars, the crazy long trailer, nor the aesthetics of their Menasor.

With FT you'll have that extra trailer in alt modes that 'doesn't belong' which is a bit of a turn off, but perhaps a bit unfair to complain about that when that 'problem' was created not by laziness or poor design, but by the magic engineering of managing to make Motormaster out of a wbole semi including trailer.

I just want one person in this thread to say they'd pose it with a second trailer. I guess you said you didn't mind it, but it's blowing my mind as to why. Motormaster never had a second trailer in any iteration did he?

No he didn't, but then again in the cartoon Motormaster's alt mode includes his trailer. So basically what you want is ONE trailer that can disappear into Motormaster's bot mode as well as become Menasor's body. Technology has not advanced that far yet.

Now that I think about it, DX9's Motormaster might be the most accurate. His alt mode does include part of the trailer and in the end he only has one trailer :)

Ok that trailer is LONG, but it's one trailer right ;)

Im guessing that they made the skeleton transform to save on shipping/storage space. I feel like they know we don't want a second trailer. They could've just made a collapsible skeleton, but then XTBs solution might be considered more "professional". Just my guess for why they went this route.

Not sure I know which one you are referring to that's coming out...
I'm not worried about scale so, to give you an example of the optimal combiner, it would be mmc assaultus. Now, of course he doesn't have the best combiner hips, but I think that could have been improved without resorting to any pants forming. My UT abominus has awesome joints in those hips/upper thighs.

I like XTBs solution best and was going with that team, but the quality was not to my liking so I jumped ship to FT fully.

As to the question of posing it with the second trailer; if i had the room and wanted to do them up in alt mode for my display, I have no problem with the second trailer. The only problem is the space it would take up, but aesthetically, I'm fine with it, and especially over the alternative of storing the skeleton or extra parts away just for alt mode display.
