I’d love to see her digibashed in Chug Generations colors

I personally really liked those colour revisions to her T30 toy. Made her look "sportier", with the extra black bits kinda making her colour blocking look more like athletic wear.

Arcee Classic is more like "stay-at-home aerobics mom", where T30 scheme is like "kickass biathlon chick".

since Hasbro love repaint, I wonder how long do we have to wait before a green repaint of MP Arcee show up as Medic?

It'd be TakaraTomy in this case, rather than Hasbro, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time before we see a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive MP-51+ Medic.

I'd be very interested in hearing your reasoning.

I own FT Rouge and she has just been on the shelf so I haven't handled or transformed her. When I saw the pictures of MP Arcee, I instantly decided Rouge was much better (without going by much other than looks, admittedly).

Would love to be proven wrong :)

You don't have to dig that far into this thread to see where MP-51 excels over Rouge.

Rouge has all the mobility of an osteo-arthritic grandma.

And her alt-mode is pretty compromised, to boot. Looks decent at first glance, but there's a bunch of little attention-to-detail things that start to bug you over time. I personally can't get over the fact that her wheels aren't centred in the wheel wells.

Rouge excels in the "look (arguably) closer to the animation model and stand there looking pretty" angle, but fails in the "playable as all hell" category.

There's a few other aesthetic categories where MP-51 wins out as well, like minimizing the visible screws and joint gap-age.

Absent of a side by side comparison, Rouge seems to look like Arcee. But side by side with MP-51 she doesn’t; Rouge certainly includes the basic shapes and colors but is ultimately a stylized idea of Arcee more than actually looking like she does in the animation. 51, on the other hand looks like the actual design, even with the breast plate controversy.

functionality and transformation-wise they aren’t even comparable.

Has anyone tried Pledge "Revive It" on Arcee yet? I used the old Pledge Multi floor care on Generations Arcee back in the day; that mold had an adverse reaction where the paint (maybe it was the Pledge itself) turned yellow over time. Never had that issue on any of my MPs. Mp-51 seems to paint chip easily so I was thinking of hitting it with a coat of Revive It.

You are the first to mention paint chipping on this figure. TT did not paint the areas that would typically rub and chip paint. I have yet to see any pics online of this figure with paint chips so this sounds very odd to me.

Yeah I'll have to get a macro lens, but the white paint seems to be chipping around the edges on the tail lights - and I'm not forcing them when I tuck/fold em in. I'm sliding the pieces horizontally before folding em. It's minor so far but I've only transformed it a few times. I'm hopeful that this is indeed a rarity though.

Evidence based review is the final arbiter. In my world, only way you can do that is a side by side comparison. Though from other reviews, Rouge has such an   transform process. I don't own Rouge btw but she would have been my first if I had managed to buy her (she sold out fast), Azalea would have been the next candidate then Arcee dropped in and , well, she got bought!

What? You just proved my point. Look how slender and elongated Rouge is.

The animated version is slender too. It's like an 85-90% match compared to Takara's being at like a 70.

I honestly have no idea what you're seeing that I'm not seeing. Maybe we exist in slightly different frequencies of the multiverse.

I think if you compare photos from identical angles and poses maybe what @backhawkdown (and I) see will make a little more sense. I also don't put too much stock in the animation models themselves as far as proportions...while they are good references for the shapes and their arrangement, they often look much derpier than the best Toei animation that Takara seems to be taking a cue from.

That said, Arcee has one of the better models as it was refined by Toei after Dery's initial version, and when she's in motion in the movie particularly, Arcee doesn't look like the flat stick bug that Rouge does (to me). She looks just like MP-51, chest debacle and backpack aside.

I just can't see it, and believe me, I'm trying. I'd love to have an accurate Arcee that was tolerable to transform.

Arcee's hips are the same width as her chest in the cartoon. Rouge matches that, while Takara Arcee has hips for days. I mean I can see how the idea of more curvaceous Arcee might feel more "right" to someone, but I just can't see how anyone can see it as being more accurate.

She's twisting at the waist there. If her upper body was straightened, the distance between the "edges" of her chest in that screenshot is certainly shorter than the width of her hips. (I'm only looking at this screenshot though, not saying there couldn't be others that contradict me :D  )
