First time by itself, thrid time overall if I recall correctly since there's the one from the 3-pack and there's the headmaster that came with Legends Gnaw.

Cheers for the heads up, just ordered from them. :D

Voyager Sweep eh, so I can presume we're getting a leader class Sooty with top hat and wand?

Sorry to hear things have been so rubbish. Grimlock should be amazing though, post photos when you get him (I am imagining the whole thread will be flocked with them and Wheelie will meet a dismal demise by the dozens).

Amen to this, have had a few decent ones amid a sea of conniving mercenary scum and they were worth their weight in gold! :)

Excited to see what Wreck-Gar comes out like, and hope they molded a ton of alternate heads and can then release a whole horde of Junkions! Am hoping the Sweep is just Scourge in a different box, but as soon as I actually own a Scourge I shall change my mind and bemoan it. :p

Wow Wreck Gar coming in too - SS86 shaping up nicely, just saw in the news thread and it gave me hope - repaint into a Cy-Kill..?

I’d pony up again if they do, no doubt.

As that would be a(n ex) Go-Bot with modern CHUG TF quality, I'd preorder one a fraction of a second after you did! :thumb
Still fond of Movie Fracture aka Crasher, and don't Hasbro own the Go-Bots IP anyway? I'm sure it's complicated, but they like money, and we would have money if we didn't spend it all on toys, so.....

Ive always wished that I’d picked up Fracture.... I think it might have been @Incepticon that picked one up at the last TFN...? I’ve hovered over it on eBay a few times since.

I posted in a thread a couple of weeks back about Go-Bots. Hasbro definitely have the IP for the names, and I know there’s a Machine Robo line now, but I think 3P are leaving some serious money on the table in terms of some animation style Go-Bots. They don’t even have to be ‘Masterpiece’ just some WFC style would be a sweet spot, and you could test the waters with just 3x Guardian and 3x Renegade characters, I’m sure they’d be popular.

You're making it worse! And you're probably right too! Noooooooo! :lol

I have the scout-size Action Toys Cy-Kill and he's okay but doesn't look enough like the show. I think @Napalm had the big one (matron!) and it had the best alternate unshaven-crook face. Fracture is fun and looks suitably uncouth, but obvs. a dedicated mold would be still better (and if Hasbro had been doing modern Go-Bots we could be on the third iteration now and buying them all again due to better faces and ankle tilts  ) and you're right, 3P have looked at this substantial pile of potential dosh and turned on their heel to make six Menasors. WFC style would be my preference too, then they'd fit in with the CHUG lineup, one of the many virtues of which is to have a wide range of characters after all!

The nips are also 5mm pegs and QC issues mean they get stuck in things and snap off...

Agreed wholeheartedly. I’ve always been an ‘MP’ guy, but recently I’m caring less and less about scale, and like collecting some of the MOTU origins line, there must be a decent collectors market who would buy core characters to have a ‘shelf’ of that franchise.

Also, do I remember correctly there was a few folks in here a while back lamenting the lack of Slitherfangs? Well there’s a few on Ali Express for about £8 including shipping so fill yer boots of you still need one.

Actually I was just thinking that, rather than 3P with die-cast at 40 bob a pop, modern Go-Bots similar to MOTU Origins (which I so want to collect but can't afford so am enjoying vicariously through this thread) in that they're well-made, colourful and inexpensive, would be the way to go, then we could have a whole line-up or just nab our favourites depending how much we felt like getting into it, not worry about them shelf-diving or the sprogs getting their hands on them, and make them plot against the 'bots & 'cons. :)

It's £2 on PSN, or was, you'd need to check... but it's the perfect mix of intense and throwaway I need at 1am!

Sue will be needlessly rubbish and wearing a backpack ;)

How much do you wanna bet said Sweep army builder will require you to buy a handful immediately before it disappears?

Go-Bots are surely one of the last un-mined areas of 80s nostalgia. Everyone remebers them and they were popular at the time.

I like the Action Toys Machine Robo toys, but it's a fair criticism that they fall between CHUG and Masterpiece in terms of both character and transformation design, so there's definitely scope for 3rd party to get in the game. You'd think that updating the fairly simplistic original transformations would be ideal for legends class figures as well.

Go-Bot Legions/Cyberverse toys would be rad! As you said, could even keep most of the original engineering, but with ball-jointed limbs* so as to avoid some of the previous limitations on articulation and the original rapid descent into shambling-undead limb-looseness too. :)

[*] Yes, I know some such as Pincher did 'ave 'em, but they went superloose superfast anyway, so modern balljoints are what we want! Modernise everything! Make it the same as it was, but better! Like my cat who wouldn't eat his food if it had been on the saucer for over 30 minutes, until it had been turned over with a fork. For we are all cool cats with saucer eyes looking to fork out for shiny things we recognise!
