Not sure if this is a thread but I wanted to hear some things that you want to see in next year's movie.

    I want to see:

    -Bumblebee talking
Him having no voice is pretty annoying these days so much so that even the cartoons have moved on from it.

    -The Transformers developed as characters
Bumblebee was a step in the right direction for characterization especially Shatter and Dropkick as much as I love the Bay movies these two had more character than all the Bay Decepticons combined. This goes back to having Bumblebee's voice being fixed because it's kind of hard to develop him as a character when he talks through the radio. AoE and TLK were fixed on making Bumblebee the new leader when Optimus was away but it didn't feel earned as his character has pretty much been the same throughout all 5 movies.

-Have Ratchet actually be a medic
He had a pretty cool design in the Bay movies but let's be honest aside from trying to fix Bumblebee's voice in Movie 1 for a couple seconds he didn't do any doctoring and was relegated to another soldier. Easy way to do this is simply don't have him in fighting in any action scenes and actually show him fixing his comrades.

    -Less focus on the humans
In order to develop the Transformers they can't focus on the humans. It's ok to have a few human characters that go through small arcs maybe but if the human drama is focused on more than the Transformers you messed up.

    -More action
Bumblebee was a decent character story but it could have used more action. I like the idea of the Autobots being chill dudes but more booms would be nice to see.

    Bumblebee talking.

Transformers being characters and not props.

Fight scenes being choreographed like human fights. (Like Bumblebee)

    More Transformers screen time.

    Peter Cullen and Frank Welker.

    -Creative designs.

    -Lesser used/less well known characters.

-Pissed off critics. Online and literary tirades over silly, campy fiction featuring robots fighting is entertaining to say the least.

    -Cool locations.

-A greater sense of visual and auditory scale. I don't mean Unicron vs. Primus, or planets blowing up and thousands of robots of both factions or more fighting each other. I'm talking the on-screen presence of the robots. Like I love it when Lockdown walks down the road, and then as he walks closer, his footsteps become loud. It felt like Lockdown was right there. Many people may not like the loud, in-your-face nature of the Bay movies...but he nailed the visual scale of the robots and the sounds their bodies make.

FB_IMG_1612751018231.jpg 1.Titan Transformers etc like Omega Supreme and Tidal Waive. Makes the design similar to Cartoon but more advance looking. Just don't repeat the awful way ROTF Devastator did.
    2. Powerful Combiner etc like Superion and Bruticus. Makes sure each of the robots got own unique weaponry and have a great fight with their opposite faction before merge to form Combiner.
    3. Human soldier are unable to defeat Transformers and no more human face looking robots.
    4. Decepticons that are unable to track with Human heatseeker or technology when they are in disguise/vehicle mode. So that they can ambush anywhere either in highway, middle city or government command centre.
    5. Ignore all unknown protoform robots as we need recognized Decepticons only. Creative action sequences with unique weaponry and makes Decepticons hard to defeat.

I guess I don't have any sort of checklist of things I want to see in the movie. A few years back I would have, but at this point I really just want a solid movie that honors the franchise, and also adds to it. As long as they do those three things, I'll probably be happy. I don't really have anything particular I want them to pull from or add, I just want them to do whatever they do well.

Honestly? Something that doesn't wanna make me tear my hair out. Bumblebee was the only movie where it hit both of my criteria for a movie:

    1) Be decent at the very least
    2) Be entertaining.

All of the Bay movies were largely 2 and never 1. Hopefully whatever movie comes in 2022 it follows the formula that made 'Bee better than the rest of the Paramount movies.

    1. More focus on the transformers

    2. peter Cullen and frank welker as Optimus prime and megatron

    3. mark hamill, Steve Blum, or even Charlie Adler as starscream ( but I mainly want mark hamill, if they can’t get him they can get the other 2)

    4. good and clear action

    5. Jeffery combs as ratchet

    6. A good story

    7. the decepticons to be legitimate threats

    8. I want the human protagonists to be a soldier, medic, or a police officer instead of a mentally unstable teenager

    9. I want the decepticons to have some distinct personalities

    10. I want bumblebee to get his voice back

1.Distinct characterization and screentime for the robot cast- my biggest complaint with the bayverse was how none of the characters were given the proper screentime or development to make them memorable or distinguishable. Hopefully the reboot fixes that.

2.Humans that pull their weight- humans in these movies are inevitable, so I just hope the ones they do include make themselves useful and prove they have a reason to be there.

3.Dynamic and varied action scenes- I want every action scene to be distinct and completely different. For example:
The first action scene would be a car chase, with cybertronions transforming in and out of vehicle mode throughout.
The second would be a fistfight between 2 characters with a shakey camera that's close to the ground, similar to the 07 movie.
The final battle would be a huge firefight between both factions with Aerial support and a long shot of a human running through the chaos (similar to 1917)

4.A bumblebee that can SPEAK- nuff said...

5.A shorter run time- I want the movie to be less than 2 and a half hours, so far every transformers movie has been littered with unnecessary jokes and plot threads to pad out the run time. Just dial it back and only have scenes that contribute towards the story/characters.

The script was dropped in favor or a sequel to Bumblebee.

As for what I want, basically what everyone else has said, but start small. Have it still character focused for now so we can care about the Bots and Cons and slowly build up to the larger stories, while dropping in small bits of world building. Not enough to overwhelm or overstuff the movie.

Also a small wish of mine that I doubt will happen, part of that small world building would be to expand on Optimus's line "there are other Autobots scattered across the galaxy" to mean that the Autobots are still fighting on other worlds and not all converging on Earth. Maybe one or two scenes of Prime talking to some of them before moving on to the plot.

Optimus talking to other Autobots would actually be a pretty cool set up for spin off movies or payoffs for sequels

New voices for Optimus and Megatron that aren't Peter Cullen and Frank Welker (but still professional voice actors, nonetheless).
Come on. Give some other professionals in the voice acting industry their time to shine.

A runtime of 2 hours or less.
What's up with every blockbuster movie feeling the need to be over 2 hours these days?

    A bigger cast of robots.
Now that the first movie in the reboot continuity is out of the way, humans have been introduced to the Cybertronian species and now it's time to pick up the pace with character interactions between the Transformers themselves.

Since this is a bumblebee sequel and a heavy G1 inspired reboot they basically basically established peter Cullen’s voice as Optimus so that’s impossible, but for megatron there might be a small chance, but since this is a heavy G1 inspired reboot that’s most likely not going to happen.

An adventure with Blackout and Grinder dealing with the problems of having the same body and trying to prove the Decepticons that they are indeed separate individuals is truly what the Bayverse needs as a finale.

Forget Unicron or whatever. This is what we need.

I'm sure there's more but these three things stick out for me:

    1. A smaller scale: Maybe not as self-contained as Bumblebee, but something that feels less like a typical blockbuster. We've gotten plenty of globe trotting adventures from these films and I feel we've gotten to the point to where they're "too big". Scale it down a bit and make the adventure a bit more relatable.

    2. Smaller robot cast: Give us more time to know these characters and a reason to be invested in them. When it comes to action, I feel the less characters there are the higher the stakes. It's one thing when you have Hound mowing down an army of KSI drones. It's another thing when you have a one on one duel between Bumblebee and Dropkick. It feels like there's more at stake when it's an underdog character you're invested in as opposed to a highly capable warrior kicking ass. Think TFA compared to TFP.

    3. Something new: I don't want something as far out there as the stuff from TLK but I'd like to see them explore the Transformers a little bit as a race. There's plenty of interesting concepts in the brand to explore and I feel that even six movies in we've barely scratched the surface.

    Starscream as the Main Villain.
Brawn to have some more screen time after 20 years.
Prowl to make his live action debut after 15 years.
Wheeljack that is similar to Cyberverse counterpart, inventions that are useful and maybe a little random.
Thrust similar to his Armada counterpart, a tactician, but a good one.
    Slipstream to appear.
Basically I want Starscream and the Seekers as the main villains.
An Autobot base similar to Cybertron and Prime.
Ratchet fixing Autobots after first act battles.

As much as I would like to have Bumblebee speak with his natural voice I think there are far more important things for consideration. I would like to see some more characterization. A better description of what their beliefs and motives are. I would also prefer the movie to delve into the relationships of the characters. What they think of each other and the war in general. I want to see some aspects of their character that we haven't seen before. What their life was before the war. What they think of life. The writers could also show us both factions' point of view. In life things rarely are just black or just white. I think it'd be nice to make us sympathize for the Decepticons more as well instead of depicting them as these mindless, definitively evil characters. I want to understand both sides of the conflict. Black Panther is the perfect example of this. While you don't agree with the villain you still understand the motives for their bad deeds. Anyway these are the main points I'd like them to improve in the upcoming films in comparison with the Bayformers.
