Tried a couple things to make the hands stand more inward and closer to the feet for a more natural stance. Having bent elbows also really add to the look, especially the side profile. With Jetfire Prime for a nice shot

 

It's been a while, but on December 22nd they showed images on Facebook of the final package layout and stated that the kits were ready to ship. Probably mid-February widespread availability...?

 

Well, since no one has posted it here...

I already know I'm not gonna use those suggestions and extra part for the neck joint, but the rest makes it look great. Can't wait for my kit to arrive after all these months of waiting.

 

This was noted already in the 3p forum area.

The gorilla mode suggestion / update makes his head look worse and is still grossly unstable.

Have the kit for 1.5 weeks now. The mixmaster connector wore down quickly. The add-ons make it difficult to do posing (outside of base A-stance) since the added weight will cause his hips to be extra floppy.

 

Some of us follow this thread for updates on this kit, so that's what I meant when I said "here" (as in this thread.) Wasn't referring to the whole TFW forums.
And yeah, the extra joint... that's why I posted right after the videos that I'm not gonna use those suggestions or parts for the neck. Though I fail to understand why the hips would fail in 4-legged mode with the extra weight and not the upright pose. Or are you posing it with the legs all the way straight to the back, like a pushup?

Yeah... Considering what you get, that's just not worth it to me. I find it hard to justify paying leader prices for a few accessories, three or five of which I really care about. Maybe if it was $40

 

I should have clarified that better. The legs are more floppy in upright mode with the extra weight. They were marginal before the added weight.

If you try the old stock connection method, the chest plate won't stay on unless you move Mixmaster's legs out of the way.

Changing positions for posing often causes the chest plate to pop off, the legs to flop, and then Mixmaster disconnects with their intended way.

The new Gorilla video adds back in the rear Mixmaster clips for connection but just holding up his weight by the side mixer parts is unstable laziness on their part.

I do a different method in gorilla mode but isn't totally stable either (better than the video's idea, though). There are new gap fillers for Scavenger's wheel struts that hold onto Mixmaster's front partsforming piece. I attach Mixmaster to the tabs on the partsforming piece like the stock combiner mode. I can actually get a very low profile mode this way too.

Canada, eh? I definitely would not overpay to get early. We got ours from Toydojo who got it in early and still fortunately kept the original $50 USD price.

I still recommend only to get if you primarily keep and display Devastator in combiner mode. If you primarily use as separate bots, then it's definitely not worth it.

Also, I'm planning on getting the boxset to stay in combined mode, and displaying the individual releases in robot mode because I'm bad with money

 

Typically, DNA sets don't go down in price. The suggested (and cheapest) price is $50 USD. $70 CAD isn't that far off.

In your case, then just get 1 set and not 2. It just adds more kibble to Scavenger in individual modes and a nearly useless blaster for Mixmaster.

 

Any chance they'll restock Overload anywhere?

For my Devastator I’m planning on getting the DNA Design kit and the extra figures from Power Full Figures

Is there any stores that still have the DNA Design kit with the first production parts?

(I only want the vortex grinder, arm parts, chestplate, balls and Mixmaster’s cannon, since the PFF stuff provides the tubes and I think the O&K panels, and three of those are first production only)

 

They actually have him in stock right now on Gamestop.com for $35, with free shipping also for all orders over $35. Hope you can grab one.

Looking at screencaps from ROTF, I would like an Overload re-color with Skipjack yellow and Longhaul green arms that become the combiner thighs. I know it would make a hideous OL, but it would so improve Devy without attempting to match the colors of the plastic with paints.

I just installed the DNA upgrade set on mine, so great a 3rd party gives us accessories Hasbro didn't.
