Regular SS line hasn't had much opportunity to given the vehicle licensing probably prohibiting such (likely not dissimilar to Bumblebee and VW, if not just prohibitively costly)

 

For the Beast Wars Transmetals, I believe that most of those molds are all still in existence as several were used for Armada and some were under-used so reissues of these seem believable to me.

But this rumor of a G1 mold/character not available since 1984? Okay I have NO IDEA what that is. Well....if they mean not reissued in the US since 1984 then there are several to choose from that were released in Japan and elsewhere but not here? Maybe finally a US reissue of Megat....nope laughing on that one already. Seriously all of the 84 bots and cons were available in 85, and some 85 bots and cons showed up and were released in late 84. One con that was NEVER mass released in the US was Reflector and he was in season one a lot....maybe? Shockwave had no reissues I am aware of so he maybe a possibility depending on gun law thing - still unlikely even though TT bought the company that originally produced him for the US market and as such own the rights. Here is a left field one....Raiden? He currently has a rumored MP in the works via the "Raiden Project" from TakaraTomy.....could be they plan an Encore release as well and Hasbro figures why not as a Walmart exclusive? Maybe gauging interest in Japan G1 characters? Seriously I am guessing.

 

Pretty sure the SG Hot Rod repaint was said to be coming in the SG subline.

 

Makes me wonder if it's Bumper. He's never been reissued to my (very limited) knowledge, and he's probably the only character that could warrant any secrecy for a reveal, in my opinion.

 

Forgot about Bumper/Bumblejumper.....yeah that is a high possibility and fits the criteria and, if they had to rework the mold is a cheapy to do.....hmmmm

You do realize Armada was almost 20 years ago? I'm pretty sure it took less than 20 years to lose some of those G1 molds.

Depends. If it's the Bayverse figures then yeah, I figure it is a way to stretch out the line by revisiting existing molds with better decos.

If it is the 86 movie, maybe port in more WFC figures with the COMBAT ports removed? Maybe make tweaks to the deco or accessories?

 

Sorry, I was thinking 2021 is the fourth year of the line, but obviously the year is just getting started.

 

im definitely curious about premier, buzzworthy already acts as a reissue for ss stuff. perhaps this will be the rebranding of studio series as they bump prices (mainly to account for inflation but will probably leave room to improve the figures) and change the boxes to reduce plastic
