Pixel Dan is able to do these interviews bcuz of how long he's persisted in the game, from cons to pushing products to reviews. An example of why he's so touted would be his interview with McF at the last Toyfair (IIRC) where Todd said i came here for my Pixel Dan interview, now I can leave or something to that effect. The only other 2 people I know that get interviews are Fwoosh and I think Shartmus, all of who also have been at this for a long time going to all the cons and basically becoming Collector Icons among the community
Idk I don't watch him as much as Fwoosh and Pixel, I just recently started watching TNI's Jay-C but he's the least charismatic of all of them still he puts out a lot of info more often than the rest.
Yikes. I've been somewhat paranoid about my NECA stuff ever since my 1/4 scale Donny took a dive and broke a hip. I've actually been contemplating lately about potentially drilling a small hole in my NECA TMNT to support various stands. Kinda invasive I know but there's also a bit of comfort in the thought of them being more secure.
Yeah - I typically just jump forward through the TNI news videos because the news/info is good, but I find the delivery tends to drone/meander onwards too long. Those 20 minute videos could very easily be cut down to 12 with a more direct script. Still, credit to anyone who gets up in the public face for videos.
Hah, so, I originally ordered 3 Krangs off Targets site when they first went live. Why? I try to do that with all releases I can because of NECA's questionable quality and the rarity of these things. If all's good the thought was I could always return them to the store or help others out. I had received one Krang and the other two were backordered. I received the second one today. What are the odds of breakage upon transit? Pretty good! The first had a broken right foot. The second, a broken right. I'll see if I can use heat and frankenstein a complete one this weekend rather than return right away. Anyone want to take bets on the condition of the third?
Lack of timestamps in that interview basically means I'm never gonna watch it. Did Flynn mention any more details about a second run of Raphael?
Shit...sucks there are so many foot issues with Krang. i usually try to source more than one of each item myself in case of issues and then pass the extras on to others. I don’t think I’ve had problems with two of the same figure, though. Dammit. I give your third one a 50/50 shot...lol.
Ugh, Krang ankles (Krankles?) strike again. For as minimally posable and top heavy as he is I almost feel like they should have skipped ankle joints entirely and had each leg be one solid piece from the knee down.
Who were they interviewing? The owner/rights holder and creator of Usagi is Stan Sakai. His is the only word that matters, so if he agrees to it then that can make it. And if an old deal was defunct they can make a new one.
Raph was sold and gone before I even knew it was out. Annoying as it's teh #1 figure I wanted from the line.
Lol. Yeah, we'll see. It's okay, I'm pretty confident I'll come out with a good one. Thank God I think I'll be done with the core cast from the first 4 episodes. I'm waiting on Neutrinos, Mondo, the frogs (cuz they're just darn cool) and vehicles. And of course the undercover 4pack... And maybe ultimates with extra articulation and accessories...
I’m really curious about the disguised turtle set. A NECA guy mentioned in an interview that they are supposed to feature some improved articulation. I wonder if that might also include a different approach to the joint designs...like smoother and less likely to show up frozen or broken...lol.
Yeah, that will be interesting to see. I've seen soo many pass me by with frozen joints or stuck paint from the pads on the elbows and knees. Damn painted joints. I understand they're trying a different approach to the double joints but damned if they're not weird and kinda odd looking. Mostly in the movie figures though and April.
Like you fellows, I watched the ToyHype video and found it hilarious, really enjoyed it. The creator is obviously a little socially awkward but very passionate about the topic, resulting in what you saw. I did catch a few of his TMNT reviews, and while he does lack the 'spzazz' I like his focus. For fuck's sake, he was able to mention which exact episode by title the various figure references came from. It was very bizarre to see him ask Brian the same 2-3 questions over and over again just in varied forms. Also, it's clear Brian remembers him because he referenced previous Toy Fairs. I bet they were memorable lol. Krang is the first Neca figure I'll have to get some kind of stand for since he already fell and broke his original antenna. Thank god for the second one. I even researched what exact stands fit the holes on the bottom of all the Neca figs. Apparently there are Neca brand stands, but have any of you used other generic types?
Honestly, I have some of the clear NECA figure stands and initially they did work pretty well. Problem is, after a time, the plastic seems to expand enough to whereas they don't fit snug enough and they become loose. I really wouldn't recommend it for Krang. At least not as a long term solution.
