Honestly, even with the color change on the maw, this still looks like a great release. I look forward to seeing future Transformers Haslab projects as well

That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Where to put the damn thing. I’m running out of space in the house. I’m thinking of places outside of my studio space where the wife won’t notice a small planet devouring robot to call home.

I get the complaints, but going by the ever slightly changing animation is never going to be exact. I don’t mind the blue because it does make the teeth pop more. But I’ve not looked at enough comparisons to see if the design has changed drastically either.

If we had the internet in 1986, I wonder what the reaction to Galvatron's toy colors vs his movie animation colors would have been.

Imagine having to be the guy who has to transform 1000 Unicrons a day.

My point is: Why would Hasbro think it's a good idea to show this?

    All factory jobs are horrible.

People want to see behind the scenes stuff and then some people get on a soap box when they see behind the scenes stuff (this isn't targeted at you, just a general observation). There's honestly nothing unethical in the video as far as any of us can see. Having worked in a manufacturing industry myself (granted on a very different scale), that factory actually appears to be very clean and much better than any job site or pre fabrication shop I have ever set foot in. Also, a factory like this is far different from a sweat shop. If you want to critique Takara for the factories they use then you should probably learn to discern the difference.

I sure have. And it sucked hard. Luckily, I didn't have to do it for too long before I could escape this hell.

Factory jobs are Sisyphus-type soul sucking torture.

    I agree.

My problem with it is that Haslab said right on the website, "Make no mistake, this Chaos bringer is based on the 86 movie" and sure enough, the planet mode shown was very accurate. I think it's safe to assume that a good amount of people got it for the planet mode. We all know the bot is.....the bot mode. Like it or don't.

I got it for planet mode myself and the maw is the focus point, much like a face in bot mode. If a Prime came with the face the wrong color from the canon...not a shade off but completely different from what it's know to be, people would call it out. That's why people who comment on it and don't like it are bringing it up. It's not a small area or even hands or the feet that are the "wrong" color. It's the main thing you're going to look at each time.

Again, this is a YMMV thing in the end but it's not what I wanted. If you're happy, then you win.

There are plenty of well thought-out and articulated arguments here for why people think what they do. "Both sides are wrong who cares lol" is an excuse to not think critically that only ever reflects badly on the person saying it.

Dear sweet crap I hope to own one of these someday...

on a different note, I’m seeing a TON of people complaining about really minor details of this figure, like the mouth being blue or whatever. And I mean, I understand, because this toy is about as expensive as dropping cash on a newly leased house in some cases, which is insane.

But on the other hand, if you ‘really’ care about it enough to complain until you’re blue in the face, you could essentially learn how to paint and color match and just fix it yourself..? I know it means taking time out of your potentially busy schedule and learning new things, but it would most likely help you more than hinder you in the long run to learn new skills.. Just saying lol.

I'm certain you wouldn't be saying this if they had painted it florescent purple and green.

Simple fact is they made a major change that drastically altered the look of the final product from the marketing they sold people on. If they had shown production well before boxing it up and shipping it out, they may have been able to reverse course. But that ship has sailed now and there will be backlash.

To your point... There is no changing it now. It was always hasbro's decision. Customers either have to live with it or change it back for them selves.

oh there totally are. Those rational debates and friendly arguments just get drowned out by the loud obnoxious entitled incels that wanna act like it’s the end of the world over a piece of plastic they didn’t grow out of like everyone around them did and need to be as loud and repetitive as possible doing it. “I’ve already thrown a fit and made the same comment half a dozen times but I don’t think everyone saw those so gotta keep doing it”

Tribalism, and polarization. Cells within Cells man, even in the most Niche' of hobbies and interests, there is always gonna be people being confrontational.

Do I like the new Look? Not really.
Am I all up in arms? not really.
Did I buy this one and Zeta? yup.

End of the day, if you bought it and you like it, you win.

If you don't like it, regardless of ownership, you are still welcome to have a conversation and opinions on it, but there really is no need to be insulting each other.

I wonder if there are different color variants being produced for Unicron?
Could be we saw the gray maw to be released for the TakaraTomyMall market.
Then the orange maw could be for the HasLab market.
We see variants all the time. For example Kingdom Optimus Primals Swords, some being Silver and some being Bone White.
