Huh... I really wasn't expecting it to be 97% the same transformation as Titans Return. Granted, there's some improvements (although those rear frog legs look terrible) but I was really hoping for something different and new.

Spot on. Overall design 100% from the Titan's Return line instead of the UT, and I'm ok with that as I didn't find the UT to be vastly better.

My main gripe with VS-05 is the alt mode's hind legs. They look like something pulled straight from their diaclone mechs and pasted on this guy.

Is that all the Autobots so far?

Is there an exhaustive MFT list of released bots?

Technically that's a mix of hot soldiers (ratchet, ironhide, cliffjumper, hubcap) with the iron trans datsun bros (prowl, smokescreen, silverstreak) and a jinbao optimus thrown in. But even then it's missing all the new release headmasters and omega supreme, plus if you're just looking at what also fits into an MFT collection you can give honorable mention to dx9 arcee and papa toys hot rod.. there's a master list of most 3p legends at the 1st page here: 3rd Party Legends Master Thread

So are these micromasters gobots thing a dead thing. I was really interested in these and the potential repaint and remolds to represent the remaining members of the micromaster Patrols Hasbro did. Was hoping they would do all the zone ones that did not get a new toy

While those were neat for what they were, we needed real legends sized gobots. Though Bandai is pretty tight on IP theft these days.

To be honest , I was mostly looking forward to the remolds into the remaining micromaster guys to be honest ( if it was to happen, sort of looked liked it to me it was planned that way ) . But I thought maybe they could get by with making it look like the US gobot characters and not the bandai ones. But perhaps they are just too close still ?

Nah, too big. I have the Cyrillic and he's a tad big for Legends Plus. The others are bigger than him.

I got my Crocodiles and Tracks in recently - The Croc's are decent enough no major complaints really here. They don't look as spikey in person as they do in pics either. Optimus works pretty well as a crocodile too and Skullcrunchers head isn't ugly like the Titans Returns one is.

Tracks is a complicated little fella - with some minor design over-sights - he has very poor accessory implementation - like you can't even mount the rockets on the car mode at all or the jet either - despite there being a suitable hole to have allowed it. There is also a perfect spot to stote the leftovers but not way to attach them - so a bit more thought on the details would have helped there - he's could do with weapon storage too.
Other than that he's nice enough - well articulated suitable sized to the others and looks OK - Maybe I could have done without the yellow square on his chest, but that is a minor complaint.

OK. Now that I’m all caught up on Headmasters releases, I am hoping that we get some updates on MFT’s triple changers. I would love to see a colored sample for Blitzwing, Octane, or Springer sooner rather than later. Octane was shown in prototype stage in June of last year, and Blitz in July. Should be pretty far along at this point.

Oh man, I completely forgot about their Hot Rod. They showed that off in late March of 2020.

It's funny that no one has often had a go at Broadside - he'd actually suit MFT/Vecma/Mech Soul as they'd already done triple changers & also a Submarine & he's not so complex that an original design would be difficult to do.

There is the Two other main Decepticon main Targetmasters to come too sometime - even if they did forget to put the horizontal stablizers on Blitzwing.

Sometimes I wonder if it might be fun to go off the beaten path and make something unsual like Clench, Pyro, or Calcar.or even Thunderclash - as at least one can justify a Optimus Prime repaint out of him too - and then there is Skyquake too who would also warrant several possible repaints - heck one could even stretch the point and do Dreadwing (inspired by the Transformers Prime colours).

Though I totally get why someone wouldn't want risk making obscure stuff - it's hard enough to get 3rd parties repaint the F-15's more obscure colours as it. without dreaming about Legends+scale Turbomasters or Skyscorchers.

Though it has crossed my mind that making sympathetic versions of small sub-group Transformers characters might have a market if people really just wanted them with more articulation than the originals had.. Something like Rotorbots/Rotorforce would be about the same size as new toys as they were originally they'd look similar enough - they just would have more joints and perhaps a bit more paint. Perhaps something to test the market on might be the Sparkabots ?

A Broadside that is about the same size as Huge Dragon would be awesome.
