Am I the only one that doesn't get excited about 3P anymore? I think between Covid stalling shipping and WFC absolutely killing it, I've just not been that impressed lately. The last figure I bought that had me really excited was Fanstoys Motormaster. And I'm content not even getting the rest of their Stunticons. Has 3P in general peaked?

Its slowed but mostly due to being more selective now that there is so much out there. Cant buy as much as I used to. Right now focusing mostly on MPs and MPM figures. Combiners are hard to get excited about as it seems if you dont jump on board day one the first couple figures sell out and you cant find them later.

It hasn't slowed for me... Rather, I can't keep up with all the cool stuff I want!

Fans Hobby are doing an Armada Prime and Megatron, a new MP Shockwave that turns into Galvatron's ship is coming soon, and the Jinbao Devastator I can still find for less then $200 CAD for when I can get it.
So coming from someone who's only really getting started collected recently, it's been pretty good so far.

I'm in the same boat. If it's not an upgrade kit, or a figure they just haven't made, I'm not buying it. Has/Tak has made it unnecessary.

    Transformers has peaked.

I'll change my mind once some edibles come out.

Not slowed down, but there is less stuff I’m interested in. For example, g1 MP stuff is pretty much a dead market for me now with XTB and FT making idiotic price jumps and being treated as gods. The other good g1 companies seem to have died off or are making movie stuff (which is something I collect, so that’s alright).

I am grateful because I think 3P forced Has/Tak to up their game.

Im getting priced out of 3rd party MP collecting. I just can't justify much of it lately. I want that fans toys thomas, but it isn't worth more than $200 in my mind.

I've purchased a 3D printer, and have begun tooling around in fusion 360. I will make a go of making my own non transforming figures. In the meantime, I will be keeping a watchful eye on Maketoys, and hoping they finish those coneheads.

Nah. It's only getting better and will only get better as 3P makers branch out from standard G1 and Bayformer models.

Nope. On top of all the new stuff coming out, there's a huge backlog of figures I wasn't able to fit into my budget in past years.

Not really as I don't get that much.. the pricing kills most of the 3rd party stuff for me, I just can't justify the prices for most of the figures.

The few I have are within my "budget", so under the 100$, closer to 50$ as much as possible.

But the more Hasbro keeps increasing the prices, the more I'm looking at the 3rd party stuff.

Exciting reveals have definitely slowed down for me.

I first found out about MP Transformers right around 2015, ironically due to an article on kotaku about Combiner Wars Devy. While browsing this very forum I then saw the grey prototypes of Toyworlds Constructor and got hooked.

But recently there is a lot less of the stuff I’m interested in being regularly announced, except for really Fanstoys and Takara. Although Takara has gotten more and more in to Beast Wars with the MP line, so there have been a lot fewer G1 releases from them.

Also after 5 or so years collecting, about I’ve figured out what I like and I’ve sold off most of the stuff in my collection that I realized was just a place holder and stopped buying anything that I’m not in love with.

Basically other than Constructor, Zeta’s Unicron and MMC’s Tapes, at this point my entire collection is Fanstoys or Takara. Luckily I started collecting early enough that I was able to buy everything that is crazy expensive now at retail (back when things weren’t so insane), but on the flip side of that, I’ve also got $1200 worth of Takara Seekers and coneheads that hopefully will eventually all be replaced, I would have added the MT seekers in here too, but I ended up making money off them lol. But if you’ve been collecting long enough, and you are like me, you are probably on atleast your 2nd version of a character or 2 and that kinda takes the shine off a lot of new releases.

About a year ago I sold, FT Tesla (he was pretty terrible IMO), FT Hound (the Takara one was announced at that point), all of my Non + variant car bots and shockwave, MakeToys Seekers (after MP-44 came out I just really hoped Takara would do some Toon accurate seekers) and Maketoys Jazz (he was good, but ultimately just a place holder for me).

That being said there is a lot I’m looking forward to on the horizon.

    Takara Starscream
    Takara Thundercraker
    Fanstoys Soundwave + Tapes
    Fanstoys Huffer
    Fanstoys Perceptor
    Fanstoys Trailbreaker
    Fanstoys Stunticons and Menasor
    Fanstoys Aerialbots and Superion
    Fanstoys Seaspray 2.0
    Fanstoys Blitzwing
    Fanstoys Jazz
    Fanstoys Mirage
    Fanstoys Fortmax
    MMC’s Autobot Tapes
Possibly Xtransbots Kup and Springer (will have to see how the finish product is)

And who knows what else may be reveled over the next 11 months.

I'm in for all of those except the MP Seekers and FT Fort Max and I'm undecided on FT Seaspray 2.0 and FT Mirage. I'm also looking for FT Skullcruncher, FT Cliffjumper, the Trainbots from Moon Studio, the rest of the Predacons from Cang Toys, the Protectobots from XTB or MMC (or GT to just finish Hot Spot/Defensor), MMC Rung, the Omnibots from XTB, the rest of the Autobot headmasters from Maketoys, Big Firebird Windblade, Fans Hobby Nightbeat, and for somebody to tackle the Targetmasters, Elita-1, the fembots, Nautica, Alpha Trion, the Powermasters oh and Ratbat. That's all.

There is still a lot that could be announce that would be very exciting.

Somebody has to do a decent Cliffjumper, I know Fanstoys teased one.

They also teased a Blaster, and I just never loved the KFC one, but will definitely need him when ever MMC gets off their butt and releases those tapes.

And I really need Takara or someone to do a Sideswipe 2.0, he just looks so bad next to Sunstreaker. I looked at the badcube mold for him and redalert but just couldn’t pull the trigger.

A scourge and a Rodimus wouldn’t hurt my feeling either. MP-09 is still holding that spot down, but he’s showing his age, and again I just couldn’t pull the trigger on either release of the XTB Scourge, with the other 2 86 movie villains being some of Fanstoys best, I’m just waiting on them at this point.

Damn dude, you’re reading my mind, Cliffjumper is probably top of my list too and I’d be cool with Takara or FT. Definitely need a good Blaster, and A better Sideswipe and Rodimus.
