Ugh. Had a dream the straight guy I feel like I'm in love with told me that he realized he loved me too and we kissed. Hurt to wake up and realize that was a dream. A mutual friend thinks he feels that way about me too but is just confused about his sexuality, but I'm too anxious to try to push him, I don't want to make him uncomfortable if she's wrong about his sexuality.

It's such a relief to find this thread when most other discussions about LGBTQ topics on this website usually end up sliding into bigoted nonsense. This fandom has a serious problem.
Anyway - Hi, I'm Bee427, I'm queer and my pronouns are she/they. I'm always happy to talk about queer stuff and/or queer Transformers stuff with other people if anyone's interested :)

Hells to the yeah, hard agree with you there. It's odd that a fandom that has such prominent queer characters often has bigoted fans. And hey, same pronouns here!

Hey Bee, nice to meet you!

Actually aiming to do my honours thesis on queer Transformers, so very down to talk about that. That and they helped get me where I am

Woah, nice! I actually wrote the first draft of my college essay about queer Transformers, but I ended up having to write a new one because it wasn't working out :'( The final draft was still about Transformers, though :lol

Hello everyone. My name is ServO, and I'm a straight, white male.

I don't post in this thread because there's never much reason for me to do so, but I thought that I'd pop in and just let you all know that as a Super Mod, it is my genuine pleasure to come in here and squash any BS that might pop up.
I am subscribed to this thread. I read every post, and follow up on every report as quickly as possible.
You see, I like this thread. It is for the most part very chill, very welcoming, and very accepting...and I'd like to try and keep it that way.

@Bee427 I took a look at some of the things that you put up in the post I removed...You didn't do anything wrong, but that awful kind of negativity is really quite gross, and I don't think it is helpful to this serene place...
This thread is indeed a safe space, but the way I see it, there isn't any reason that this entire website couldn't be a safe place for EVERYONE.
I apologize for those things, but alas, this site is vast, and our staff is few. We really do rely on reports to handle those types of things, so if you (and anyone else who reads this) sees that kind of blatant yuck, PLEASE use the "report post" function so that we (staff) can put eyeballs on it. If you find a bunch of it...just PM me, and pop in all the links. I will make sure that it gets looked at by all the appropriate staff members.

We generally try to keep things PG-13 on TFW, but you all understand how people can be...be it purposeful or inadvertent.

That's pretty much all I had to say...
I just wanted you all to know that someone was watching...someone cares.

If anyone ever needs anything, feel free to hit me up with a PM...my door is always open so to speak.
I'm a single dad to a very precocious 7 year old, and I work full time, so my responses won't always be immediate, but believe me, I WILL make time, and I WILL respond.

    Carry on team.

It's a franchise with broad appeal that nearly anybody can read themselves into, so it has fans of every stripe as far as social and political views. It has its roots in the '80s, so it's no surprise people whose attitudes are stuck in the '80s latch on to it. :\

Fans of a franchise all about change being themselves allergic to change is still ironic, of course. But it's been a common observation of the fandom since Beast Wars.

Guess it just goes to show, fans or no, some Transformers groupies just wouldn’t be good at actually....

    ...TRANSforming

Shame the first one didn't work out (although also normal for any first draft imo), but that's still a hell yeah :D

Happy International Asexuality Day! Whether you're demisexual, gray-asexual, out, closeted, don't use labels, or anything in between, know that you're a wonderful and valid part of the LGBTQ community, and that you're seen and loved.

This was very touching. I don't usually consider myself anything but an ally to the LGBT community, but it's nice to see asexuality remembered.

I just love the positivity in this thread. I'm just here as an ally, so I don't post much, but still happy to see activity in this thread.

Thanks! :D  It's always important to celebrate every queer identity, and asexual people have unfortunately tended to be excluded in recent years (remember when "ace discourse" was a thing? That was a shitty time). Excluding people from the community never helps anyone, and defeats the purpose of there being a community in the first place - we're meant to support each other as a group, not argue over whether other people are "valid enough". We've got enough problems with hate coming from outside the community, we don't need infighting on top of that. We're always stronger together.

I know this is an old post, but in honor of International Ace Day I wanted to pop in and tell you that you're not just an honorary member, you are a member of the LGBTQ community! I don't know how you feel about your identity now (identities aren't set in stone and a lot can happen in 2-ish years), but if you still identify as asexual, just know that you're not "less LGBTQ" than anyone else. Aces have always been part of the community and always will be. You belong here just as much as any other queer person, and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.
...And if you already know that and this is redundant, sorry :lol

.....On the topic of something NOT related to onsite drama—

....Got flirted w/ hardcore and like. Mega unsubtly by some other girl at the store???

And at first she seemed nice, and was complimenting my skirt while clearly checking me out with all the subtlety of a nuclear missile with a clown horn on the tip of the warhead...

But then she goes “Do You....? *makes a limp wristed hand-gesture typically associated with gay MEN* and when I looked at her utterly perplexed, she, I kid you not, huffed at me, sneered “nevermind”, and stomped off.

Hope she doesn’t get a fucking date for the next decade. And to think I was almost fooled into thinking she was NICE. Ugh. And I was otherwise mostly having a good day.

Oh, yikes. I've never really been flirted with, but it must feel pretty shitty to be insta-dumped like that. What a jerk. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. :(
...By "limp-wristed hand gesture", do you mean the Lil Nas X Spongebob tweet? :lol  I definitely wouldn't blame you for associating that mainly with gay men instead of women.

Instadumped? That implies I’d of given someone so clearly base and immature a chance.

As far as I’m concerned, she slowed me down, undressed me with her eyes, wasted my time, and then had the audacity to treat me with verbal disrespect.

Only time I've ever been flirted with (I think it was flirting) by another guy was when I was ordering at Pita Pit on my college campus. I appreciated all the compliments, but I just wanted to order my wrap and move on. There's been plenty of guys and girls I've thought were attractive that I've checked out as a cashier at my job, but I feel like it's inappropriate and unprofessional to flirt with someone who's currently forced to interact with you.
