Sorry, I misread what you said, haha! If you want it, I can make an order and get an extra for you. You just gotta remind me.
Theyll probably go for like $10-20 on after market if you just wanna buy individually. Thats how much the previous Lunar New Year GWP have gone for.
Bionicle wins the fan vote; Classic Space and Pirates get second & third place: https://www.brickfanatics.com/it-looks-like-bionicle-has-won-the-lego-ideas-90th-anniversary-fan-vote/ Apparently the votes for all the Classic Castle sub-categories combined would have given it the top spot. Hopefully that shows Lego that lots of people want more Castle, even if it's not the subject of this particular anniversary set.
How dissapointing, bionicale is not even real lego, it's a modular action figure. They should count all castle and pirates themes toghether, then they are nr 1 and 2.
Awesome! Here's the Lego page for it too. Porsche 911 10295 | Creator Expert | Buy online at the Official LEGO® Shop US
I realize there are limitations to what can be accomplished with Lego but I am disappointed with their 911. Their previous 18+ Creator cars aren't perfect either but I feel they were able to capture the design of their real life counter parts more accurately. This one just doesn't feel right. For one thing the head lights are way too big. The Speed Champions model does a better job of capturing the essence of the 911.
I'm just happy that it is really close to the 911 built with Lego. I also have the Speed Champions version which I thought would be the only Lego 911 I would ever get. Now that you pointed out the headlights I can probably try modding it to make it look better, but it is good enough for me as is.
I'm not sure simply swapping the lights for smaller pieces would fix the problem for me. The body above the lights should taper down towards the lights. Again, I realize there are limitations but at this price point I think they could have done a better job with the car's silhouette. I love the car but it would definitely need improvements for me to consider getting this one. Hopefully people can get creative once it's released and improve upon what Lego has offered. I may consider it then.
I think the new Lego 911 looks great. It certainly isn't perfect but considering the limitations of Lego, I'd say they nailed it. I don't think Lego parts selection would allow much, if any, room for improvement, although with all the AFOLs out there, I wouldn't be suprised if someone comes up with something. The Targa certainly looks better than the Turbo, imo. But overall I'd say it looks great. If my toy budget wasn't fully occupied by TFs right now, I would definitely consider picking this up. Hopefully it'll be available for a while so I can pick it up later this year or early next year. I think it'll look great with my Lego F40!
I'm sure that someone out there will mod the heck out of this build to make it even better. I always thought that the Porsche is hard to do with Legos given their curves and am amazed that they did it as well as they did. Lamborghinis and Ferraris are so much easier.
Creator Expert cars usually hang around for at least 2 years or more, so you've got time. Just don't forget and then let the retirement sneak up on you.
Bionicle may be an offshoot of Technic, but for something celebrating 90 years or what have you it's a really piss poor showing if it wins. I love the Constraction Style as much as the next guy, but my primary collection is Minifigure based and I highly doubt they'll revive the old Minifigure scaled Bionicle type sets for this anniversary release. Highly disappointing. Especially as I was hoping for a Blacktron set or something to add to my collection.
