It's a shame Travis didn't slap the CGI artist around the face with a paperback copy of the idiots Guide to CGI Modelling and tell them to do it again - as boy of boy did that Jet get all the bad design decisions in one place - it makes the also terrible Klingon D-4 look like a work of genius and that was something else I also had a lot of issues with - the shape is ugly and weird, and that gap in the nose cone with a gun in it is the worst offence in the design as it translates so poorly to 3D dimension as a toy - the robot mode isn't anywhere near as terrible - but the jet - mode of that oh boy that jet mode - darn is that just 'bad' in every possible way.

I'd go so far as to say it's the worst design in the movie -- well 2nd worse Arcee's robot mode is likely the worse.
Though my objection here is almost entirely with the jet mode. I don't actually hate the robot mode - maybe the Movie renders them a bit to shiny and they end up looking a bit fake and Videogame cutscene like - but under the shiny there is some merit - it's not like I can say that the Bumblebee Movie designs are "worse" than Michael Bay - that would me being intentionally hyperbolic.

But I could be mistaken - maybe it will look better from some angles, or maybe someone will make a nosecone cover for it (accuracy be damned).

So Thumbs up for the robot mode - thumbs down for the jet mode (so far) from me.

I hope they reduce the panel lining on the figure. I’m perfectly fine with weathering but here the panel lining looks a bit too much. Nevertheless, an impressive figure and I’m impressed with how good he looks. Much better than I thought he would be. I want to become an adult, get a job and buy figures like this...

Looks really great! The headsculpt is way better than the SS one, as are the colors. The paint job looks great too. Not over done like TW usually does. I'm excited to see more of this figure.

It’s done in the same style, if anything even more worn than their figures, so not sure how it’s any different.

I don't see much evidence of the metallic flecks that TW does (cause they're always trying to mimic 3A), plus the worn look makes more sense for a cybertronian design since they were at constant war there and they haven't been shown to have the magically clean paint jobs that the earth vehicles usually have.

I like Black Apple Optimus’s weathering a lot since it doesn’t affect the vehicle mode while the bot mode looks nicely painted.

That’s the kind of weathering that makes the most sense to me, would be cool to see that more often.

Hopefully this doesn't cost an arm and a leg, because I'm going to have to get this.

Hey dude, I know you’re new here. So imma just explain without sarcasm. This thread was without update for over a month so people are expecting news when someone replies. It’s best not to post anything on a thread that has been silent for several weeks or months.

Yes, but there’s nothing new to discuss and you should know that almost everyone watches this thread to get updates. Most will expect an update if the reply came suddenly from over a month silence.

I mean, its only been a month since their reveal of the prototype. It's not like it's been silent for half a year and was bumped.

This is correct. Relevant discussion and updates are both ok.
