My Prime was missing the Matrix as were many others on the most recent issue. It was mentioned in the thread often. My Mirage also needed the fix and is missing half the engine block. TFS Express have said not to hold out much hope as Transform Element are not good with solving such issues.

Great for you that your buy was fine. But that's certainly not the case for everyone.

 

Surprise! MX-22 comes as a pile of broken parts and overall junk.

Luckily, XTB just announced that MX-26 will be an accessory pack that comes with a group of Junkions that'll fix up that junk pile and turn it into Ultra Magnus, complete with a 90-day warranty!

I like OP leader but one good release doesn't make a company a go to for the future. Consistently putting good releases out does.

Their Mirage is ok at best and TE have a history of substandard QC. It's cool for you if you're a huge fan and want to roll the dice but I'm going to hope a company with a less patchy history put a Magnus out (that doesn't nessecarily mean that company will be XTB either of course).

If Transform Element can up their game consistency wise on some less expensive releases (like their Mirage but without the QC problems) then I could be tempted in the future to spend on a more expensive release (such as Magnus would clearly be) because of how good Op Leader was despite missing the Matrix. But they'd need to prove it first.

Plus their after sales service (replacing parts etc) would need to be more than utterly non existent. You've been lucky so your narrow minded view is all good until they screw up .

 

To be fair, none of the (arguably) three biggest companies (TT, FT, XTB) have proven reliable to get QC issue free releases out recently.
For some reason, I still buy what they Chuck out, but I’m getting more worried with each release about what I’m going to get.

 

The only "other take" I'm possibly interested in is a toy accurate Ultra Magnus. Seeing what can be achieved over the last couple years, I don't see how this could be too difficult to add armor parts to a white/blue Optimus Prime figure.

 

I agree none of the companies seem to be able to avoid QC issues and when spending money on this hobby (like we all do) I also worry about each product as you never know for sure.

I think the thing for me is that I have bought product from XTB, Fans Toys, Zeta, Takara, Fans Hobby, MMC, and Transform Element and the only one of those that has achieved 100% on having a QC issue per item is the latter. I'm well aware all companies have problems QC wise and that also some customers will never experience them but TE are 2 for 2 with me right now and are utterly silent when it comes to fixing the problem.

It's great if they've been perfect for others but it certainly isn't the case that they put perfect product out every time so when it comes to a higher ticket item like a Magnus I'd rather see anyone else tackle it.

 

Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t arguing for a TE version over any of the others.
More just pointing out that no one seems to be able to get it right at the moment.
I’m just missing the days when we could hold off on buying a new release until we’d seen unbiased reviews, without having to worry that they’d sell out

 

Oh yep no worries. Fingers crossed one company make big strides towards consistent flawless releases.
