That transformation looks needlessly complex. The base mode was not worth that headache it caused. I'm reminded a lot of the FansProject M3 as I watch the transformation. I loved looking at that piece, but absolutely HATED handling any of it.

The arms are too much of a cheat. I get having to bulk them up because the bots don't have enough mass, but I think I would have preferred what DX9 did instead of what they did here. The yellow and red parts really amplify how much the arms are not the individual bots.

I still love the XTB stunticons because they're in the bot scale I want. A stunticon should be as big as an MP autobot, imho, and because I'm a big fan of the ep where the autobots faked stunticon disguises.

Still need to get Gravestone. I guess I have to get the trailer eventually. I'm thinking it's going to stay in gestalt mode once transformed from trailer. In fact, I think if they offered a solid gestalt skeleton that didn't transform, I'd be seriously thinking about buying that instead.

I'm personally probably gonna end up using MMC Bruticus, and in the future their Defensor as well, for my shelf. MMC if you ask me was the only one to get the aesthetics the closest between it and Zeta.

Bruticon looks good, but a bit too far left from center if you ask me. Also i'm not a fan of that head, which is probably the one thing that throws everything else off for me. Not to mention the bot modes that aren't so great.



MMC for me looks the best, but also fits the bill for bot mode. That also applying to Defensor, personally.

The height discrepancy will most likely have my personal judgement reserved until I get it in-hand later this year after I get the whole reissue team together.

Best MP Combaticon team for me are MMC limbs with Zeta Onslaught and torso:



You can literally have it all. Cartoon styling, 20" combiner, fantastic in all modes.....

And to keep ot with Stunticons:

 

Completely disagree. The way DX9 did it looks like the cars are just stuck on accessories to the arms of Menasor. XTB’s painted arms blends with the cars creating a far better illusion that the cars ARE the arms. Really a brilliant move IMO.

 

Emgo replied to my comment that he haven't got the trailer. So don't assume yet.

 

It does look like Motormaster is sucking a very strong mint, realising they are too stong then getting angry. Not many other materpiece figures have that kind of range!

 

Ha. Probably not gonna use any of his faces but those look fun. Angry face is probably my favourite.

 

What can I say, those motormaster faces look really accurate to the screen captures, but the problem is I just don’t like those screenshots.
Haha Xtb just can’t win.

 

Here's how I fixed the broken tab on the leg. I drilled through a little piece of model sprue with a 1/32 drill bit. Then I threaded a tiny machine screw through it. I then drilled a small hole where the broken tab was and threaded the screw/sprue into it and glued the shit out of it. It's a little crude, but seems to be working. Getting a dynamic pose is a balancing act.

 

I thought I'd be ok with the height difference but I'm not. Went on and bought Bruticon as Chronos is so good, and it and Constructor would just overshadow the MMC version. Not to mention if I ever got any other combiner or a non gestalt like Gabriel. MMC's bot modes are great tho, and I love what Zeta did with Bruticon's sculpt, but obviously to each there own. As a famous YTer said, "If you like it, you win."

 

good job. I had the same tab snap off on menasors right leg. I glued the missing tab back on but I'm not confident it will hold. I will take your tip into account should I need to do any repairs

 

I'm happily using MMC's for each combiner teams bots, and filling in the combiners with FT, XTB, and Zeta. So far so good

 

It’s a real shame since I like the idea of multiple faces for motormaster but these are just plain weird. I think they should just have done a screaming, smirking, laughing,and grunting face so you get all the faces you need for motormaster to have emotion but what do I know? I’m not the almighty and deceitful Keith.

Nice one. I emailed TFS Express to with this issue, but I doubt XTB will be able send a replacement part.

So, would everyone who has the final product in Menasor mode agree that it's difficult to pose him? If that's so, that's a shame, because if Fans Toys version ends up having better/stronger pose-ability that'll be the clear choice, for me at least. Then I'll put Xtransbots back into bot or car mode where they'll stay (was leaning towards FT's for combined and Xbots for bot mode anyway). Anyone else feel the same?
