It absolutely does not have to be an us vs them war of some sorts. I'm just here to share my opinion and that's it. That seems to be against the rules here. Why is that? Do we all have to agree? If you want to set up an argument and illustrate your point, pics will help a lot. You can post pics by literally copying a photo (right click and choose "copy image" on a computer, if you're on mobile hold down your finger/thumb on the picture until it says "copy image") and directly pasting it here. It's super simple, and goes a long way towards crafting a discussion that people might take seriously.

I'd also recommend not getting so defensive.

Maybe avoid superfluous language, too. Because when you say MP-52+ and stills of Thundercracker from the G1 cartoon are night and day then I genuinely think no one is going to take you seriously, since there clearly isn't that big of a difference.

The Simpsons reference has thrown me for a loop here, since from your posts I would've assumed you were young enough, and I didn't think young people still watched that show. Peaked at Season 2 anyway

Either you directly copy a photo in from Google (on PC/Mac only cause computers) or by directly uploading it (Click "Upload a File" -> Select that file -> Insert it by either clicking "Full Image" or "Thumbnail" under the message box)

 

Anyone else track down that Reflector from MP-5G, or am I alone in that crazy category?

Anyway 52+ is a lot of money, but damn I can't wait to have this inarguably unquestionably perfectly G1 cartoon-accurate Thundercracker sitting on my shelf or desk alongside Starscream. Good times, good times.

As someone who isn’t really on one team or another, here’s my take. The super cartoon accurate take on a figure is not for everyone. However, as far as I can tell, that’s the way things are going right now. I personally think it’s cool, but like, I’m a broke fifteen year old, so I can’t really buy this. Still, kudos to you for liking it. And kudos to you for disliking it. Now as for animation accuracy - this is like 95% animation accurate. Now forgive me, as I haven’t analyzed every single frame of the G1 cartoon, but this is pretty close. One thing I think should be remembered, the distance, lighting, camera lens, mistransformation - all of those have bearings on the overall outcome of a picture. Maybe wait to get it in hand, but even then it looks accurate to G1, and even G1 struggled to be accurate to G1, so I say it accomplishes what it sets out to.

I understand that this isn’t for everyone, but I’m seeing lots of unnecessarily hurtful comments from both sides. Stop complaining about what the mods are doing, they’re doing their job right. I’ve read through this thread. Lots of what was removed was done rightfully so. But both sides need to work on accepting criticism. Plus, it’s not going to be for everyone and that’s ok. There are alternatives, and no one is legally required to like something. I’m a Bayverse fan, but I love G1 as well. My seekers are a hybrid of G1 and movie figures. It’s possible to like something and not buy it. But what’s on display isn’t criticism of a figure. It’s unnecessary trashing of another person just for liking something, and that’s not ok.

Oh, and one more thing. Stop with the age related nonsense. I’m a teenager, and it pisses me off that whenever anyone on this site is in an argument, they call the other person a teenager and say “oh teenagers are dramatic and can’t take a joke”. It was fine at first, but not everyone needs to say it constantly. Teenagers only really act like that on stupid CW shows. Oh, and if you’re going to insult someone (which you shouldn’t, and personally I think it undermines your whole argument if you have to resort to insults to win, but hey I can’t stop you) be more original.

Tl;dr: It’s a(n admittedly expensive) toy, we don’t need to act like children.

There’s an off-putting level of toxic entitlement in this community.

People commonly mistake that on a forum like TFW with open membership, that somehow this allows them to post anything they want, in any way they want, with complete disregard for decorum or etiquette.

What happened to simply don’t be rude?

I swear quite a bit IRL and one time I was in a restaurant and had to take a work call. I made an expletive to make a point and my wife later told me that I got bunch of death stares from some other patrons from within hearing distance.

I don’t want to be an embarrassment in real life and wouldn’t want to do the same on this forum. Stuff you say here and other online media may come back to haunt you IRL as well.

 

Just a weird thought, if you don't like the product in the thread you can either post about your not liking it and walk away, or just plain ignore it. Lessens the stress on you which may lead to potential gastric ulcers, cerebral aneurysm or even a cardiac.

But if you keep coming back posting techncally the same reworded posts............  You really must be a glutton for TC love

Having people on ignore or reading through threads with deleted posts sometimes make the forums seem like a ‘choose your own adventure’ book or MadLibs where I can fill in the ‘blanks’ with whatever I want  . Looks like I missed a lot in the last 24hrs or so, but I’ll bet it wasn’t as good as the Jerry Springer episode I played in my head!

 

Btw, proof in the pie is in the eating. Star Cream(not a typo) comes this June 2021. We'll know if the sweet poison passes the smell test. If he does then TC will be no different.

I agree! I also, personally, swear more than I would like to admit in casual conversation. I’m embarassed, but I’m working on it. I agree, however. Just because the mods are incredibly nice on this site, people take that as a free pass to be rude. I have a tendency to go on meme tangents in certain threads, but the mods are very kind about letting me know and they even give me warnings. I agree, that it’s a small thing compared to what’s happening here, but they’re just as forgiving and kind yet firm, in both instances.

As for your second point about the irl thing, I couldn’t agree more. Life has been extremely crappy for me as of late, to the point where it’s almost like I’m asking “how can it get any worse”. I come to this forum for escapism and learning. I had a business tournament in high school recently. A lot of stuff was stuff about imports, how companies choose what products to market due to culture, distribution etc. On the 100 question multiple choice, you guys would not even know how many of those questions I was able to answer because of something I learned on here. I learn here, as do many others. And guess what? My team went to state. Our presentation was on business in Japan. These forums, when discussing masterpiece figures, as well as normal generations, helped a lot.

When there’s a civil debate, people who watch, or people who join in, both parties learn. Doesn’t matter your age. This forum has been a source of learning and a place of fun and safety, where I can discuss my nerd likes without being judged (Star Wars servers), and for me personally, it’s incredibly sad to see it debilitate like this.

Figure King releases in a few days, if it's something to see it will probably leak before them. At worst we only see Thundercracker,at best we'll see him and more on Skids, with wonderfest the 7th.

 

Here’s hoping Figure King is able to show the final coloring for Thundercracker.

I’d also be down for some surprises... like finding out we get 1 or 2 more faces for Thundercracker. Long shot, I know.
