He's a big blocky robot that turns into a slim sleek jet, but his robot mode has no kibble and his jet mode has no robot parts hanging off it. It's about as perfect as you could expect a mainline TF to be.
Honestly yeah. Idk if I'd say he is THE absolute best of all in recent memory, but damn if he's not straight up astounding. Him and SS86 Hot Rod have me floored that these are retail Voyager figures, they're just too damn good.
I feel the same in a way. I'll probably get Cyclonus at some point, just because I've heard so much good about him, but I'll admit I was more happy to see Primal on shelf between the 2 of them. I got Scourge because I love the design aesthetic, the red nails and space boat mode especially, but I don't really have much of an attachment to these guys and Galvatron. Maybe if I watched some of the cartoons that came after the 86 movie I'll be more invested.
So this is getting ridiculous. I just went into Target on Sawmill and saw that they put out the new Grimlocks so I picked up one and then another guy walks up and asks me is that the hot new release I said no not really so then I went on to look at other things and then as I was going back through he had a Grimlock in his hand and was looking on his phone probably checking eBay prices so there may or may not be one more Grimlock at Target on Sawmill.
Target Milford - nothing new. Walmart Milford - 1 set of Kingdom deluxes. Tons of Netflix deluxes. No SS 86.
I'm wondering if this is on the increase due to the lack of jobs. More free time means you can spend more time stalking the aisles looking to turn a quick buck on ebay. At least he's buying it though.
Could be. Everyone thinks they are a toy dealer nowadays. Between this, SW and GI Joe its really hard to stay focused when all the crap goes to eBay.
It's getting rough on the West side of Cleveland to find stuff. We've been hit pretty hard by what's going on, and the longer it goes on the more empty those toy aisles look. Unless you have an inroad (a friendly local retailer, or friend at the store), you aren't getting things unless you walk in right as they're put out. It's very frustrating, and I'm fairly close to the end of collecting. It helps that between what I have so far from Siege and Earthrise, and what I was able to get from SS86, my collection is in a state that stopping wouldn't be a tragedy.
I dunno. Seems like a person would burn more money in gas going to a bunch of stores looking for stuff to flip unless they get really lucky on one trip. Lord knows I haven't been that lucky just looking for my own collection. You can only mark stuff up so much on e-bay before the price gets too ridiculous for people to pay.
West side of Cleveland here also. It has been difficult to find anything in stock at stores. Almost feel like buying a lotto ticket whenever I find something. I haven't seen SS86 at a store yet.
On the one hand I'm glad I pre-ordered all this stuff on Pulse so i don't have to fight scalpers, on the other hand, I'm still waiting... I got an email like 2 weeks ago that my Black Arachnia might ship early. It didn't. Oh well.
Unless I just keep missing all of it, the Dayton area is about the same. Stuff will trickle in, but it's gone as soon as it shows up.
So is that just in your area or have others been getting turned away or lied to by store employees when asked? I know there's one specific Target that's done that, but wasn't sure if others in the state were following suit.
He is one of the best figures they've EVER made. That includes original figures, MPs, CHUGs, anything. He's amazing. What bothers me is that it's clear that they can make figures like him, they chose not to. There's no excuse, period. As for the stock/sightings, it's bad in Youngstown, too. Niles won't let you get anything unless it's on the shelf and asking someone could get them in trouble to the point of firing if it's bad enough. I think it's getting absolutely ridiculous that you can't get a store to take your money. The world has flipped upside down.
Same. They notified me about early shipping on all wave 1 Deluxe, wave 1 Core, and wave 1 Voyager figures and all they've shipped so far are the Core figures and Cheetor. No word on the rest yet. I found Primal and Cyclonus in a store and bought them, because it makes me impatient seeing everyone else find them in store and having to wait a month, or more to get mine. All that being said, having them on order does take a lot of the pressure off, so I don't have to look for anything and can just buy things if I happen across them.
