trying to fit Rodimus's guns onto his hood/back in those little slots caused minor cracks in the plastic

has anyone else had this issue? really tired of my transformers breaking themselves when I try to peg things in where and how the instructions tell me to

 

While I haven't had this specific issue, my SS86 Hot Rod does have a concerning number of stress marks on the red plastic parts.

 

I tried that once and then never again. The paint is too thick for that slot.

 

No issues on mine.

 

Is Hot Rod available on Amazon Prime?

 

Kinda accidentally ended up with Two Sweeps. (Long, boring story).
Kinda has me wanting at least one more, though....
But who else thinks there’s some inevitable recolor coming that I should wait for?

Leaks say Sweeps are coming out later. Not sure what the differences would be.

Joking remark aside, it's just when viewing a current thread about what Hot Rod should do during Optimus's climactic duel with Megatron during the 86 Movie, someone mentioned that The Autobots should've ganged up together to beat up Megatron to a pulp instead of went "That is Prime's fight!!!".

For some reason, that also reminded me of the scene where Abbacchio joins Narancia and Mista beating up a random guy when having lunch from Vento Aureo; And so... I created this thing.

No issues on mine so far; however, I can see how the silver paint on the guns can chip over time if they're stored in those little slots too often.

 

I loved that series and it would be a great Easter Egg!

Well yes I can get there, but as a badass PowerMaster Optimus Prime. I am an all old school G1 guy, but even I would have limited excitement for a traditional Prime at that pricepoint given the Earthrise one is pretty much perfection. I like the trailer fine even if it's smaller. If they did a FanChannel thing then ok, but if we're going for an $80 Prime then it should be PowerMaster Prime to properly finish out the cartoon alongside Rodimus in my opinion.

 

I worry about mine's shoulders being so stiff.

 

Why can’t I get these pieces lined up?

 

I'd be okay without the cell shading paint scheme, but the white grill, hips, and thighs on a G1 Optimus are just *chefs kiss*

They don't really line up with the front of the car very well, but they do peg solidly into the shoulders. The gap in your second pic shouldn't be like that. There's a tab on the underside of the red piece that goes into a slot in the silver part of the shoulder

 

Only through 3rd party sellers at marked up prices at the moment.

Mine is similar. For me the problem is that the right arm is not assembled properly so when it becomes the left side of the car it's canted(?) at such an angle that neither the corner of the hood nor the exhaust pipes can plug in properly so it breaks instead.






Alternatively someone mentioned folding in the hands. That makes a little more room. Hard to see form your picture. Do you have a wider shot?

 

Only issue with mine is a small stress mark where the spoiler plugs in in bot mode after plugging it in all the way, now I know not to click it fully in

 

I can’t even get the peg on the red piece to sit low enough to plug into the silver shoulder piece.

Here’s some more pictures.

 

Part of it is the silver paint making it difficult to tab it in. Ours eventually loosened up with some wear and eventually plugged in quite nicely.
