Dude if you're trying to convince us that this figure has copied the toon model to a T then please stop. Look at the size of the thighs and Look at the the huge crotch which does nothing but expose just how skinny those thighs actually are. Looks absolutely nothing like the toon cell. And yes, the head is too big and the face sculp is atrocious.

So are we not allowed to critique figures? Or is this site just for the "OMG THIS FIGURE IS SOOOOOOOO AMAAAAAAAAAZING" type comments? Serious question

Mods: Thanks for cleaning up the attacking posts, and for not deleting mine. In good faith to this thread and the mods action, I've deleted my back and forth posts as well to clean up the needless banter. Cheers.

Just pointing it out, critique figures without calling people sensitive or saying how they're garbage. These figures aren't for everyone.

I personally think these are a great version of the characters and I think the previous versions don't hold up that well at all especially considering the current aesthetic of the line, this is coming from someone who was going to buy those previous seekers (I even considered it up till they teased these versions, same for soundwave) bc at the time they looked great.

I'm looking forward to these but as I stated before I will probably just end up replacing them in a few years if FT gets around to making their own versions. (jokes on me I guess)

What I’ve learned from MP44 and MP51 is that nobody’s opinions are EVER changed by logical statements , evidence or facts. Blah blah blah all you want. The only persuasion that works are pictures. People said all they could about V3 Prime and Arcee but when the kick ass pictures blitzed the forums after their release, the arguments are over. Until then, I’ll just leave these here. 3BD48655-B455-4364-8F6B-CB5B05CFCBF0.jpeg 12BB8467-8FF1-4A5D-8458-0C9E61770EA4.jpeg A44CE030-970A-42FD-8464-0785B7D2D671.jpeg 7AC4D53E-7A6E-486F-BFA0-EA022799FCFF.jpeg E3347A24-DC3E-443F-8346-B071454E62AE.jpeg ...and I promise to blitz the F$&@ out of the forums in October.

Dang, I can't wait for Starscream and Thundercracker to start shipping. Not perfect, but sweet heavens these are the figures I've always imagined having. The MP-11 figures are okay and I've been pretty happy with them, but I really like the looks of these new designs. Plus it doesn't hurt holding on to MP-11 and his repaints for Alt Modes.

Yup! I too own the coronation set aka MP11. No regrets but if I have any issues with it, well, the head/cockpit is to much higher from the shoulder and given it was not yet the norm, could have used some ankle tilts.Love the details which the anime aesthetic is sure to ditch. I look at the new TC as a next stage of its evolution.

funny how the head don't look too big in these pictures but people choose to ignore them and base it on the few from an angle that makes it look big and as if the picture has been stretched

If you don't like this mold that's cool but I think that part is a little far fetched and I disagree. Whilst it's not 100% it's clearly the closest likeness of any previous official or 3P MP Seeker and barring some proportional differences, it's unmistakably intended as a representation of the cartoon. Personally I'm happy with what I've seen.

It doesn't have to be an "us vs them". We all like Transformers (I guess? I hope?) and it should be possible to have different preferences without the heated unpleasantness both ways.

Debating whether a figure is close enough to the source material that it's intended to depict, and whether it could be closer, is something I can always join in.

The only debate I don't have time for personally is when people who clearly don't like the G1 cartoon, come into threads about figures that are intended to be based on the G1 cartoon, and complain that it looks too much like the G1 cartoon and not something else.

To this day I've never seen anyone complain that a Movie, Prime, Animated, or Beast Wars figure looks like the source material, only when they're not accurate enough. It's a uniquely G1 targeted criticism that I've personally never understood.

Jesus Christ ?! I must be looking through rose tinted glasses cause I legit don’t see any of that . They cleaned up the lower legs. Fixed the insignias ( for once ) , nailed the colors spot on . An I’d say nailed about 85 % of the aesthetics for this one . I totally get it has to transform , so some liberties need to be taken into consideration. I really don’t see the head being a problem though . There’s no doubt in my mind his proportions are pretty dam close to what was shown on the toon . Way better then the MP- 3 an modified MP 11 version . I’m satisfied.. That is until 2032 when they release version 3.0 ;)

I like how well this one shows off the ankle tilt. I wasn't sure how much we'd get given the panels to the sides of the foot.

    This.

I get ya. While MP-11 looks pretty good in it's own right, aside from my lean towards more cartoon-accurate stuff, I personally feel that MP-11 is kinda showing it's age.

Aesthetics were perfectly fine, but the proportions to me feel a bit off (why does his head ride so high or his arms ride so low, whichever works better?), and i'm not a fan of his engineering in some places.

    upload_2021-1-24_10-58-13.png

That on top of me missing out on the Maketoys Seekers is what led me to kinda see MP-44's Starscream head as a sign of something to come in the future, which i'm glad I did.

The MT Seekers ironically I see as a more perfect mix between the two, while leaning more towards the cartoon look. Heck, i've been thinking of getting Meteor EX just for the hell of it because of that.

You do you of course, my guy, this is just my side of things, haha.

Ugh that photo reminds me of how disappointed I was with MP-11. Take it out of the box in awe and the first thing that happens is the torso slides out of place exactly like that smh.

That's right, I said 'awe'. I had the same feeling of awe when I took MP-10 out of its package. I can still appreciate the older MPs even if I prefer the new ones. You don't have to shit on one figure because you like another ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
And yes the feeling of awe was much more powerful when I took MP-36 out of the box and it still hasn't faded

I don't know how to post pics on this site. Somebody posted a pic of Skywarp on this thread that was taken directly from the G1 cartoon. It's night and day in my opinion between that animation cell and the new Starscream/Thundercracker mold and with TT's new direction of attempting to slavishly imitate the cartoon to a T, this is a fail.
