Episode 3 was a lot better than the first 2.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that the pregnant book looked satanic as hell. No pun intended.

So after episode 3 I think I noticed something
reality is in a different aspect ratio (16x9) than wherever they are (4:3)
. Also I’m pretty sure the commercial in episode 3 explained what is happening.

I think it’s pretty obvious this is something Wanda
is doing because she’s really pregnant and trying to comfort herself with her House of M level powers
I am guessing, as someone who grew up outside some of the US , that her childhood was shaped by US sitcoms. If there is one thing the US does well is export its culture. I think her childhood was pretty fucked so multiply that effect. After all, it’s all for the children.

I really liked how the aspect ratio changed at the end of the episode. Again, that’s an effect that really takes advantage of the medium they’re using to tell this story. The ad in the second episode also had a pretty big hint considering we now have two Hydra references in the last two episodes with the Strucker watch (Hydra logo included) and now Hydra Soak.

I actually didn’t like this episode as much as the last two. I’m more familiar with 70’s sitcoms, so I felt like the sitcom bits in this episode weren’t quite as strong. The one joke with mustache guy was really funny though. The plot progression in this episode was a lot better though, and it kinda changed my perspective of what I thought was happening before now that Vision is starting to pick up on irregularities.

That Visions comic was incredible. WandaVision can/should/is taking great inspiration from it.

Fantastic ep. The jokes were actually very funny here - the “Do these earrings make me look fat” gag was hilarious - and the building tension at the end was great.

What we DO know for a fact: Wanda and Vision are in some kind of altered reality bubble that has taken over a chunk of the town of Westview, NJ. SWORD is trying to figure out what is going on. As of Episode 3, it's clear Wanda has control of the environment inside the altered town. Each 'commercial break' we've seen is a representation of her biggest traumas: the Stark toaster = the weapons that killed her parents and nearly killed her and her brother, the Strucker watch = being experimented on by Strucker of Hydra, the Hydra bath bomb = could be a number of things, but most likely being made into a human weapon by Hydra (also it's shaped like the Tesseract, so that could be it too?). Wanda needs to be focused to keep full control of the people within Westview as they start to gain some sense of self when something from the outside distracts her.

What's unclear is if Wanda is being controlled by someone else or if this is just... her. Best guess as to why the town is emulating sitcoms from the decades is that Wanda just wants a normal life with Vision. Being from Sarkovia, her only exposure to an "ideal" family dynamic in America came from watching old sitcoms.

Hopefully we get some answers in episode 4.

This is pretty much the best synopsis of the story going on behind the sitcom hilarity I've seen. They seem to be dropping just a little bit of what's actually going on every episode.

It seems to me, it's one of two things; Wanda knowingly created this world and has full control of it all. Or someone offered this fantasy world to her, and when she sees people breaking free from the script, she then uses her own powers to change it. Since we know Nightmare is going to be a villain soon, I'd imagine he's the one who offered this world to her but she can change it a little when she notices people trying to break out of it.

I personally wish it would be Mastermind doing it, but I think it's unlikely.

Considering Wanda altered reality entirely on her own in House of M and Bendis is in the credits I thinks it’s very possible it’s all her and would rate the creation on the MCU Sword. I remember what a huge deal her power reveal was and it took you by surprise in House of M, I think the MCU is going for the same thing.

It’s possible a villain is somehow involved not saying it isn’t the case, I just think if that’s the case the villain is likely also the explanation of Wanda’s powers in that she isn’t a traditional mutant or the daughter of Magneto.... so I am betting on Wanda’s reality-wrecking threat level power-set is going to somehow tie her “chaos magic” to Dormmamu. Like her chaos magic is from the dark dimension. Who knows maybe it’s Nightmare, just seems like a weird choice to me given we’ve got a known existing villain who checks all the boxes and his stated goal is to takeover the Multiverse. And the MCU obviously likes to tie the stories together.

I think one of the reasons that Nightmare is getting tossed around as the one manipulating Wanda in some way is that we know Dr. Strange will be showing up by the end and we know that this is going to lead into Multiverse of Madness where Nightmare has been rumored to be one of the villains for the film. Something like this would fit Nightmare's MO too since he likes to trap people in dreams and feed off of their emotional/psychic energy... could also fit Mephisto's MO since he too feeds off of strong emotional/psychic energy and the fact that the twins were just born and were originally created from shards of his soul in the comics... I mean there are more than a few places they could go with all of this.

I 100% agree. I am just stating the obvious Dormammu is established as a existential threat to the MCU, we seen him before, and he deals with the multiverse and reality warping. Beyond that you’ve got Loki on the board already with the aforementioned Avengers / Defenders War storyline. My money is there but I am sure I’ll enjoy whatever road they travel down.

If it is Wanda controlling everything, it could be the use of all of that power that attracts nightmare to this verse. Dormammu is already aware of this verse and "can't" mess with it from his deal with Strange.

That’s the whole deal with Avenger / Defenders War. Dormammu finds away around Dr. Strange’s deal by tricking the Defenders and Avengers into collecting the Evil Eye to merge the Dark Dimension and Earth. That way he can get around his vow not to come to earth.
