Not sure exactly what you mean.

You pay customs duty on anything that costs over 130 quid.

You pay vat on the total cost of the item, shipping and the customs duty.

There's an exemption for vat below certain amounts and whether it was a gift etc.

You're in NI, right? You'll have the old rules continuing, not the new ones, for EU purchases. You have the new rules for other countries.

That means that the Japanese company should be charging you vat when you buy it, unless it's over £135. But that also means you won't pay any customs duty.

If it's over 135 quid, they don't charge vat upfront and you will be liable for customs duty too. You'll pay vat and customs duty on import. You'll also get a hostage fee from the delivery service, such as the Royal Mail admin fee of about £12.

If you buy from Amazon Japan, they put it all in upfront, so you don't have to be held hostage by Royal Mail. If the shipping costs reduces, so too will you vat amount. You'll get it credited back if it's less.

Right, So if the toys are £85 and the postage is £35, I won't have to pay ransom even though I'm in NI?

You shouldn't do, no. But that assumes the 85 and 35 are vat-inclusive, or that when you check out you get charged the 20% vat on top (£24).

If not, then you're in the same boat as everyone has been for years. You legally owe vat, but you'll only pay it if it gets picked up by customs. If not, you're free and clear. If it is, you have to pay it, plus the charge by Royal Mail or Parcelforce or whatever.

If it's AJP, they're definitely charging it at point of sale. Other sites, no idea I'm afraid.

Amazon will charge you VAT on the total of £120. So when you go through the payment on the Amazon site you should be charged circa 20% extra on top of the £120. You will avoid a customs charge as the total of goods and shipping is below the £135 threshold.

If Amazon do not levy the vat portion at POS, this could be picked up when the goods arrive into the UK. Vat and admin charge applicable or you could get lucky and swerve but unlikely.

I wonder who that could've been?! More of a loaner almost, got him from you for a bargain, then sold him back to you four years later for the same price. He is a thing of beauty. Here's a pic from when I had him, he's not quite the brick everyone says he is.

Sorry to hear about the accident.

I’m hoping for another set of the blue costume first family as well. If they did invisible Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm, Mr Fantastic with different swap out arms, Thing in trousers it would be pretty sweet.

    :)
    Good evening all!

Been binging on series one of a Channel 4 show called Dead Pixels which I'm quite enjoying! :D  I think series 2 is about to come out so that'll be nice. ;)

Picked up a junker Combiner Wars Dragstrip to maybe try and part swap with my CW Mirage making a custom Wrecker Leadfoot? o_O
Just realised you can have the front of the car as the chest by spinning the head, waist and biceps which looks good but will need to swap the hands around. :)

    Wreckers, COMBINE! :p

I still think it's a bit criminal that we never saw a full PMOP trailer a la FP city commander. The. A fire guts version on that would be cool.

I watched it two years ago and enjoyed it. Glad to hear a second season is on the way

Thanks it was a bit of a scare but all good now!

I hope they can come up with better swappable limbs for Mr Fantastic, something along the lines of how they did the arms for Kamala Khan. And no weird creepy fingers like the black costume figure :D

A F4 wave is also a decent place to do a Skrull grunt then hopefully the Super Skrull BAF gets a rerelease as a Deluxe.

    Agreed!

If anyone’s looking for the Legends Pyro/Rogue, Zoom has it for £25.

(Plus a load of older figures pretty cheap including said Mr. Fantastic.)

Can confirm exprime is pretty awesome

Until you realise he combines with the team leaders and then you need to find those as well.

And then you are halfway through the line and may as well complete the two teams for some mix and match combiner fun.

It's the trailer from DOTM ultimate Optimus prime - it forms armour for the (missing) Optimus prime figure.

Always a toy I was curious about. I hear the core robot was pretty good, but the powered up mode just looked odd.
