Mirage looks great! Only if Ferrari had been a bit lenient about granting permission to use their cars for toys.

OP's points stand only if you literally live in a fantasy world that ignores real world trends, business, and reality itself.

I guess some people will be willingly ignorant the rest of their lives, so you do you but...

3rd Party and by extension KO makers are not saddled by restrictions such as budget. They don't have to worry about keeping things under very specific cost margins. Budget encompasses EVERY part of the figure, from paint apps, engineering, parts count, etc. The people up top have specific price points they need figures to be in and budget accordingly.

Hasbro IS tied to that stuff. They're tied to costs, marketing, retail availability, everything that a retail producer needs to worry about. Studio Series Dino **HAD** to fit into a 25 dollar price point, which is why it's the way it is. Meanwhile, 3P Dino could literally have been any price it wanted to be as long as there was a profit margin in there. Like it or not, believe it or not, and reality is not dependent on your beliefs, but pricing, value, costs of production are different in 2020 than it was in 2009. That's why you'll never see ROTF quality figures at regular prices now. It's a fact of reality. You can choose to live in your own La La Land if you want. Me and many others? We're either going to get off the ship and just move on, or stay on the ship and just accept that things aren't like they were before.

You know, I don't even know if Dino is actually Red or is that's just the gloss reflection.

This figure looks pretty good, though I don't like how flat the chest looks. It's almost like a piece of carboard

I simultaneously sympathize and disagree with this view.

On one hand, yes, there is an absolute trend over the last several years of prices rising, figures shrinking, and build quality faltering. This is all true and it's affecting all Transformers lines, not just the movie figures. It tends to be a bit more evident in movie figures due to their more intricate designs, but it's happening everywhere.

That said, if this is the situation we must deal with, then I think it's still fair to say we're getting pretty high quality in terms of sculpt and design, perhaps higher quality than ever before. These Studio Series figures are far and away more accurate than anything that came before. The sculpting is top notch. Studio Series and WFC both have very strong levels of articulation as well. We weren't getting these before, even when we had larger and more durable figures.

It's very much a double edged sword and I'm not sure there's a clear cut answer or side to be on. Obviously the best scenario would be the size and quality of the ROTF era lines with the engineering advancements and accurate sculpt work of the last few years, but I'm not sure where that would put us price wise.
